Silver 1 series with black wheels and grilles and aftermarket quad exhaust. License plate GZZ740. Undertook me in a 40k zone at 50k+ in a bus lane to gain one car length in a queue of traffic. What a nob. Exactly the sort of dbag driving that makes people hate BMW drivers. Hope it wasn't a member. If it was, don't drive like a nob, it makes us all look bad.

I posted this in my other thread but I fouind it interesting so thought it could go here as well. I got curious about this so I checked this out for a size comparison. 2014 328i Gran Turismo. Length 4824mm 189.9inch's Width 1828mm 72inch's Curb weight 1645kg's. POWER 245 PS (180 kW; 242 hp) TORQUE 350 N·m (258 lb·ft) 2001 E38 740i. Length 4984mm 196.2inch"s Width1862mm 73.3inch's Curb Weight 1710kg's. POWER 286 PS (210 kW: 282 hp) TORQUE 440 N·m (325 lb-ft) So by todays standards it's really not a whole lot bigger than a 3 series but with a bit more power, a nice V8 rumble and with all the luxuary you'd expect from the flagship model.

I've always had big cars. Holden Kingswood was my first car. Valiant Regals, XJ6 series 1 Jags and prior to the 740i I had a VS SS commodore so for me I always find it a bit amusing to hear the term "barge" used to describe the E38. From my point of view having owned large cars the E38 is more of a medium sized luxury sports car.

pulled E30 out the shed, went for a drive to newtown and back almost stacked it in the city because I havent driven anything other than my Hiace in a month and forgot i had a bonnet in front of the windshield turns out E30 brakes arent that bad if you need to use them properly! put it away again safely, and put my other E30 along side it to keep it company.

Ha, something I would do. But I've seen certain types of people slip and short it straight to the block, so wasn't going to mention it.

My e38 is ex Singapore so should be troublesome but I have done over 120,000km on it (I got it at 50,0000) and it's been pretty good. Cooling gear needed replacement and normal suspension wear. That is why I still have it. Stick with the 750... The niggles will be long forgotten when fixed.

He told me the perspex box was supporting the structure so it should be fine. He did mention that he had a previous "show car" that got pink stickered after his "mods".

I spotted the car last Saturday. It turned into the grounds of a local church, probably collecting the tithe. Made the mistake to directly look at it. My eyes are still sore and I now frequently wake up at nights in a panic... Will need to see a shrink - that'll set me back $$$.

Rofl, so I just rang the guy and he is so full of crap. He says he is the best car audio installer in nz, and that he would have won a bunch of competitions if people weren't so jealous of him. He said that heaps of car audio places (including Rapid Radio) were desperate to hire him. He wouldn't tell me what the front speakers were because they were a "secret" that he spent 10 years developing. He said the only way to find out what the front speakers are is to buy the car. There are two amps, one is an old fusion, and the other is a soundmagnus. I tried telling him that soundmagnus is pretty crap but he tried to tell me they were the best. I could go on, but its best if you ring him yourself if you want a laugh.
