So, as some of you already know (through my coffee meet chats) I had a Mercedes E class for quite some time and it finally sold this week. Unfortunately I wasn't able to surprise everyone at the meet today but I just picked up an E36 328i Coupe M Sport and thus I am finally back into a BMW where I belong. Its quite rough as it is, but the plan is to tidy it up as much as I can and keep it as a daily driver! Stay tuned! - engine oil and filter change - some basic paint touch ups and bodywork - clean and refit door cards - replace door handle rubber seal - replace headunit and wire up a aux line - install armrest - smoked side indicators - clear or smoked rear lights - paint black kidney grills - apply sunstike tint to top of front windscreen - replace gearknob with the newer round shape - repair left front guard - repaint rear bumper - replace all four tyres with some proper ones soon - replace all speakers - replace key fob batteries and reprogram the central locking - spoiler delete and replace with a lip spoiler - replace front windscreen rubber seal - retrim rear parcel tray from faded grey to black - tint rear windscreen - wheel alignment and balancing - check all suspension components and bushings - front lip - trans fluid change - manual conversion

Yeah Troy I think you must have had a dud app bro, although to be fair, you are from hamilton ha. Very limited selection of pizza, and even then you have to weed through the expired pizza. Definitely plenty of meat lovers to choose from. My mates get some incredible pizza from the apps. I live my life vicariously through them at times.

Coming home from picking up some tea and had this happen , took me a few seconds of the on coming lights to realise they were on my side of the road and what was going on, gave me a bit of a scare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tmt_9Rx_skg&feature=youtu.be

For the best selection of cheap, direct from China parts you should check Ebay. But you should also be aware that if you pay half as much you may have to replace more than twice as often.

Last time I saw someone drive on the wrong side of the road was in Lindis Pass. I'd just flown down to Invercargille to pick up my new to me motorcycle. A MINT 12,000km 1989 Yamaha FZR Supersport. It was my second day on the bike and some jackass came around a corner on the wrong side of the road. I had 2 weeks leave booked to ride the bike around the South Island. One week of that was spent in Christchurch Hospital. The bike was a write off. That was about 5 years ago and while the insurance payed for it and ultimately I got another bike I'd still have to say that if the person who hit me was put in front of me I'd punch him in the face for his error in judgement while driving. Then I'd knee cap him for not stopping. I lay on the side of the road for 5 mins before another car came along. Still a bit of anger there...lol I know people rag on AA but in this case they worked well with me. When it became apperant that they couldn't get a new fairing for the bike they asked if I would be happy with a scratched secondhand one. When I said no they paid me out the next day.

I have found some quality Pizza on them to be honest... all you can eat with a desert buffet... I ate so much I had to go to my GP for a check up, I thought I had developed an eating disorder. Maybe you are using the Domino's app.

Hi guys/girls, Jono here, new to forums, taking my time to look through the topics (love jeffbebe's E31 who must live locally to me as I see it about all the time) and introduce my ride.... Brought this NZ new '91 E30 facelift 325i convertible manual done 165,000kms two years ago sight unseen from Rangiora ... Drove back to Auckland with the heater on full as temp gauge didn't work and some funky steering thanks to the tie rods being wound all the way in one direction (1 turn to lock left, 3 to lock right haha)... I'm pretty handy (and particular) so replaced ALL fluids, cambelt, waterpump, all water hoses, thermostat (old one was fine), temp gauge and adjusted valve clearances soon after getting back. Since then I've replaced the roof canvas and seals (last month, including stripping frame back to metal and repainting; b**** of a job getting the frame re-aligned after removing it) and various bits of trim and assorted suspension bushings... it's a labour of love, still plenty of things I'd like to do... PS: Always on the look out for the removable hard top on the slim chance anyone has one they want to sell...

Got my cluster back with all pixels working properly : MK4 Nav unit software updated to latest V32 version : The 16:9 widescreen monitor had an intermittent problem with buttons not working. Now sorted as of this morning. Pulled it apart and found the optical rotary encoder module was loose. Removed it, re-seated the contact plate and re-installed : Got a 2013 version map. Fully working GPS! Yay.

A good mate of mine has been learning himself and started with the HP Academy courses. Has since managed to get use of a dyno and been tuning stuff as a hobby and doing it pretty successfully. I think the key here is a really good base understanding of what where how, tag that with some practical examples and a bit of hands on experience and your well on your way to getting into it. People in the industry are unfortunately as a general rule of thumb fairly guarded, and I can understand why when its their livelihoods. Getting in with the right crowd/mentor really helps accelerate things.

Radio can be done via coding (about $300 to get someone to do it for you) its not simple and the equipment to do it will cost you more than $300 so dont bother unless you plan to do lots of cars. DO NOT USE A BAND EXPANDER THESE ARE S***. You will either have the CCC or new CIC system (i think yours will be CCC) CCC is the one with 1 or 2 buttons by the idrive wheel and CIC has 7? buttons around the wheel. CCC Nav works off a DVD/CD for the NAV, the disc itself is rather easy to obtain (can use an australian one as it contains NZ and AU maps) but for the Nav to work in NZ it will require a complete CCC computer replacement and recoding, this would run you around 2k+ there is NO way around this do not let anyone trick you into thinking its just a map CD its most definitely NOT. CIC Nav is harddrive based which requires the maps to be loaded to the internal hard drive and the FSC? code which is specific to the VIN of the car to be registered (i dont know the pricing on this but im pretty sure being an '06 your CCC anyway) note im pretty sure this would require CIC unit replacement and coding. Phone, depends what is in there now? if its a actual phone handset then its throw away it won't work in NZ. If its bluetooth (almost all japs seem to lack this, idk why) then you should be good to go just pair your phone. it is posible to retrofit bluetooth (if you have nothing or you have a jap phone) but its not cheap and requires hardware (new TCU) and coding. this is also in the 1-2k mark as far as i am aware. I have the factory bluetooth (nz new) i can honestly say its the best handsfree i've ever owned or used. absolutely perfect quality, sounds just as good as talking on the handset itself if not better, the system pulls your address book to the idrive, pairs flawlessly every time you put you key in and also displays your reception on the idrive screen.
