a bit of a thread dig but i thought id just share my story. i started smoking when i was around 15 years old. curiosity led to habit and bad influences kept it going and now over 10 years of it i think ive finally had enough. kind of unrelated but i had a mini schnauzer 4 years ago and due to unfortunate circumstances i was unable to take care of him and gave him to my friend who has taken wonderful care of him. recently he and another lovely girl made beautiful little puppies and i finally made the decision to adopt one. i am so looking forward to it and being in a position to look after, care for and love a dog. i thought what better opportunity than to have my boy's little girl. anyway, this led me to think about my own life and smoking in particular. i know it sounds a bit silly but i know i dont want to be a smoker infront of the little pup and i knew i would always quit before i had my own child, and thought why not quit now. so i will be getting the dog home tomorrow (hopefully) and will start my long and painful journey of kicking the habit. im a 'pack every 2 days' smoker for the last how many years and i know it will be tough but its obviously worth it in the long run for my health, those around me and also on my wallet. I am planning to make a separate account to transfer the money i would otherwise spend on cigarettes and put it towards funding my dog's toys, vet costs, etc etc lol. anyways, i thought id post up here because i know there are a few people on this forum who have also previously been smokers and i would greatly appreciate any kind of input, good or bad. and also i wanted to make it relatively public so i also can give myself the reassurance that i do want to see this through. (no offence to smokers in any way whatsoever btw haha) my plan is cold turkey. no alternatives or anything in mind so far but any suggestions are welcome thanks again all kyu

Got told off by the Police this morning for moving road cones at road works. Two weeks ago they dig up a trench about 50 meters long in one of the main roads leading into Wanganui and finished laying pipe. Then back filled and topped off with that fine shell rock. Since then nothing has been done except the put road cones out to direct traffic flow to drive over their roadworks to compact it. FFS, there are machines for this. It's been bugging me having to drive over it anyway but after the work I've done grooming the 740i in the last week I get down there this morning and they've put another layer of that fine shellrock down and the soaked it in water so it's a friggin mess. I could see the cars in front spraying it everywhere off its tires. So off to the left there's a section of road wide enough for a truck to drive on thats clear of their dirty work except they put their road cones on it to force traffic out into the middle. I get out and move the road markers to clear this bit of road and when I turn around to go back to my car there's the Police waiting for me. They made me put them back. I elected to turn around and take the motorway bridge and drive down the other side of the river then cross back over the Dublin st bridge to the side I needed to be on. Why should we be forced to drive our cars over their roadworks to compact the ground cause they're to cheap to use the proper machinery????

Have been seeing an hart specialist for the last 12 years, 2and a half year ago one side was only working 56%, and he told me to stop smoking, I did not stop. a 30 packet every 2days. 6 Months ago it was down to 44%, if it go's down to 40% the LTSA will take my commercial licence away. I went cold turkey, stopped drinking no more sugar drinks no fatty foods, medication for the rest of my live and i lost 15kg. went back yesterday for check up and I am back up to 50%. The wife stop smoking today keep fingers cross.

Home from the paint shop with Work wheels now fitting. Fitted the modified OEM M3 mirrors. Gave the interior an individual look with brushed aluminium trim with leather arm rests.

The 1.6L auto is managing to get into the 1:32's with ease at Hampton, brakes could be optional as it gets to 120km/h going into the final corner, drops to 110km/h and then rises to 120km/h on exit, then only to reachs 139km/h by the end of a 600 meter straight. Can't wait to see what it does with the m3 motor and manual gearbox as its 10km/h quicker around the corners (even with road tires) than what the e30 was doing.

Will S50B32 cams fit an M54? Both engines are dual vanos but are the mounting points to the vanos the same?

Put the M3s rear bumper on, no more towbar yay!!! Found a few issues with the 328 coupe could be fun. And fitted the new glove box and rest of interior on touring 2.0 and wired up the neutral/park safety switch so it'll start and a new lead to the reverse lights. And sorted a pressure plate and clutch! Cheers Greg

Welcome to our world, we have that all the time in summer when they chip seal the roads, On one stretch of road they do an few places, we have to compact it for the next 3 days and in 14 days they are back and they do the next places, and we are back to 30 km for the next 3 days. Bring back the ministry of works,in and out in one day, all compacted, swept and road marking

Any of you heard of Orakei Korako? A piece of New Zealand wonderland that everybody could visit and enjoy... now the private domain of indigenous "royalty". I simply can't accept taking something everybody can enjoy and giving it to a limited few irregardless of (ancient) history. Dispossession is not fixed via dispossession.

Even those willing to do the job are quoting $4,000 - $5,000 + why would you spend over half the value of a car and then a couple of weeks or months after the transmission shits it,s self. Buy some parts, Google, buy some tools and give it a go. You can always buy another car if you f**k it up

I almost failed my last WOF after Tony's did a wheel alignment on my touring, some Muppet decided to rotate tyres left rear to right front and vise versa, meaning both corners bad directionals going the wrong way. Seriously, all you c*nts do is tyres, surely they would realise.

Oh right sorry, I know what you mean. Wasnt sure if you had tried Google translate yet. I was trying to figure out the menu system of a Chinese auto arc voltage controller yesterday for a customer and one part translated into "call the police"

Ok, so work backwards from your $20kAllow $1,000 for compliance + rego Gives you $19k landed. Allow $4k for shipping, port costs, MAF, etc Import duties, at 15% is just under $2k Leaves you $13k NZD to buy the car with. Now the dollar is slipping that is not a huge amount, but still enough to get something interesting. Have a trawl on the internet and see what you can turn up.. NOTE: Disclaimer - costs are rough guides based on my experiences a few years ago and may vary in real life, but can give an idea.

Polished up the wood trims and installed a new Z4m illuminated shifter knob. The extra weight in the shifter knob gives it a bit more of a solid feel, but not as bolt action rifle like as the old ebay short shift kit installed by the po. Clutch is now pretty much broken in. No more squeaky clutch pedal which is also a bonus. I have a full set of spare trims that I'm thinking about painting gloss black with a polished finish...

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/citroen/auction-930806192.htm This car is a find, been trying to convince my old man to get it. Once you drive one of these you'll never go back. If you were considering a peugeot 407/308 then this car trumps it all day with the ride quality. They are monsters in disguise. Torque for days 440nm!!!! and very reliable. The DT 17 engine is used in by Ford, Landrover, Peugoet, Citroen. Get it into my work and we'll do a ppi on it, recommend a whole bunch of work, and you can get her even cheaper cool bananas.

My daughter just got her PPL a couple of months ago. She's now getting a rating in a 4 seater and then she's onto what you see in the video. She's already been getting some instruction and some flight time with others
