Sold the 328 coupe for 1900. Paid $1000, spent $300 on it, swapped the Motorsport kit for standard over to the touring which is the same colour. Think I came out alright from it

Good to catch up today Conor and take her for a drive. Quite a peppy beast I must say, certainly seems dialled in and loves to give back above 4k RPM. Lucky we didn't lose her when that dude ran the red light (real late too!). Lots of little project items for you to get your hands dirty with too and if you need ideas check out my project thread. I still reckon you should get Brent to install that shock mount for free!

Congrats Alex! Pity we couldn't meet up on your way up, but definitely need to got these two Avus Blue classics together for a photoshoot soon. If I had a slot free in my shed for another car, an E46 M3 would be high on a very short list, as it's a great daily driver. My current daily driver is an Amarok............ Chalk and cheese of course but as a daily driver, a race car tow and service vehicle, plus transport for 2 Labs, the 'Rok has no peers! I'm sure you know heaps about the M5 already, and I'd be really interested to hear your feedback of the driving experience. As I said to you, I am more of an Audi fan than BMW (ducks), but ever since the first M5 came out I've had a huge desire to own one. In the year of owning mine I've put on about 5000 km, every one a total driving pleasure. I'm stunned by the sheer grunt of the engine, the massive torque from the very bottom of the rev range, the instantaneous throttle response from the normally aspirated engine, the brilliant steering on lock (a slight vagueness about the straight ahead courtesy of recirculation ball setup, unique in the E39 range due to space constraints), the short throw 6sp manual gearbox, and the wolf in sheep's clothing stealth. Things I don't like? Having driven Audi quattro for 20 years, I still haven't got used to the danged traction control lighting up so regularly. Much improved since fitting a new set of Bridgestone RE11s. And the horrific fuel consumption. But in an occasional uses car not a huge problem. That's about it. The E39 M5: last of the pure Driver's M5s!! And before Bangle screwed up the styling!! The epitome of the Ultimate Driving Machine

Thanks for the interest. I'll pm people when the parts arrive. A mate of mine has an e46 touring so I can check when they are ready. I'm also getting some rtab reinforcement plates cut. I'm only getting a couple because I may need to edit the design.

I watched him on "How Briton was built". As I got to the end of each episode it started getting hard on my ears listing to " That's a proper job that is".

Guy Martin has turned down an invitation to host Top Gear. He said that being a truck fitter was his chosen career, and that it would always come first. The comparatively small amount of television work he currently does is hard enough to fit in around his job and bike racing, and that presenting the show would mean changing his life altogether. “Yes, you might earn squillions of pounds, but I earn enough here to keep me in push bikes,” he said. “I don’t want to live like a rock star. I drive a Transit van and a Volvo estate. Although having said that, my Snap-On tool bill is quite high.” Kind of a shame. Sounds like he's a 'real' person and would have been a breath of fresh air, for the first series at least.

Brent likes to avoid trademe costs by using one auction for all his cars, just changes the details You'd probably also have noted it was a wagon (I think) with 270,000 km.
