3 pointsTouch-less washes are only any good at keeping a clean car clean, and your right if the chem dosing or cycle duration's get out of spec you'll eat your paint. Red is the most susceptible leaving a cloudy/chalky appearance. Most of the water reclaim systems wind up being bypassed as they require significant upkeep, or you get oils and road film being reapplied with the first rinse. If the system is operating correctly the recycled water is only used for the initial wash down. Generally speaking I'd avoid any machine car wash (touch-less or roll-over brush) if you want you paint finish to remain intact.

2 pointsFellow Bimmersporters Here's a bargain for those of you needing some rubber in 225/45/17 without impacting your beer budget. Yes, a set (FOUR ONLY) of HiFly's finest HF805, pre-loved. They're tyres, don't you know. They've been run on a staggered set, so two have crowned a little in the middle. WYSIWYG. Condition: No punctures: I've had a look around the inside of each; no puncture repairs! And they held air for me sunday/monday until removed from rims this morning. Tread Depths: from left to right in the image below: Left: 5mm (ranges from 6 to 5.1) Centre Left: 4.4mm (ranges from 5.1 to 4.4) Centre Right: 3.9mm (ranges from 3.9 to 6) Right: 3.5mm (ranges 3.5 to 5.9) General: honest used tyres. No warranty implied or expressed. Where? They're in Wellington. How much, Olaf? Before I put them on TradeMe, I thought I'd offer to Bimmersporters: $125 the lot (including GST). These cost about $115 each when new (according to the ads I've seen), so I figure that's a fair price including delivery in wellington. I'll deliver them to you for that price, as far north as Paraparumu, or Upper Hutt. Very happy to meet you in central Wellington! Oh, and for your entertainment (these are not my words) "HIFLY HF805 225/45/17/94/W. HiFly HF805 is a high performance, low noise tyre. The Unique assymetrical tread meets ultra high handling and traction requirements. 2 pointsI order from China multiple times a week, for customers, either because buying parts locally would write the machine off or the parts are simply not available anywhere else. You're a fkn moron to assume there is NO risk. Parts turn up faulty - good luck getting a refund or returning them. Damaged by courier - good luck Turning up late - China post is horrendously slow. Parts that turn up are actually second hand (lol) Parts are fake and don't actually work. Don't bother ordering anything during one of their numerous holidays. That's just a few examples, don't get me wrong it's still worth us importing from China, but it can be a lot of hassle.

1 pointI'm parting out a 535ise 1989. The car is manual however all mechanical parts including brakes I am keeping for my e28 conversion. H&R lowering springs with Bilstein shocks. Springs for sale, might sell shocks depending on the offer. 3.45 open medium case diff. Wheels are TSW 17x8 with 235/45 Bridgestone Potenzas all round with lots of tread. One center cap is missing. Pretty much zero curbing, only very light grazes on two of them, and hardly that. One of the two is in the photo. $600. SOLD Please ask for price for all other parts (If this is in accordance with forum rules). All engine/drivetrain parts I don't need will be for sale once my e28 is running. Windscreen is cracked and seat fabric is starting to break apart, especially on the rear. Still comfy as though, haha. Parts pickup from Penrose, Auckland. Parts will be available from this weekend.

1 pointDon't forget its a good chassis, a bit of money spent on dampers, springs and bushes makes a world of difference and allows you to make up ground on higher horsepower cars in the corners.

1 pointBeautiful car, will sell for close to asking to the right person as one or two have said. Techno Violet really is a gorgeous colour though right!

1 pointAfter finally looking at it, I only just thought about how much fun that will be routing brake lines and the vacuum line in to where the booster will be lol, but it does look nice.

1 pointYeah I was under the impression that speeding isn't really an issue for that, more like drink driving, dangerous driving etc. Things you go to court for. I do recall having to tell them about my traffic fines but I don't think they cared. We had someone got done for speeding week one of my flight school. Oops.

1 pointHey mate, I just bought an '06 323i. First car purchase so I was a little naive but the car is great. But first OFF... GET THE MECHANICAL WARRANTY! Even if only a year or two. Definitely get it checked over by a professional. I was stupid and had the AA check my car 2 months after I bought it. They found a small oil leak, I found one of the rear windows gets stuck when fully opened. I have to push the seals away to allow the window to popup and avoid the safety sensor triggering from hitting something and retracting. AA also found my Windscreen seal looking a little tired. I originally took it in to see if they could find anything else needing attention as I was taking it back to the car sales service centre the following week to have them look into a ticking sound coming from the engine, which is something else you'll have to look out for. Apparently common in the e90 models. Cars been in for a week and I'm picking her up tomorrow, let's see if they try and charge me for any of this stuff which are all faults found within the first 3 months. I have i-Drive installed, although being a fresh Jap import, its still all in Japanese. I'm happy to use my phone for GPS and I never listen to the radio so the frequencies aren't a trouble. Plus some of the fixes out there, finding a hidden menu to fiddle with the bands won't work in my model. May look into swapping out one day but not a necessity. But use it as a bargaining chip if yours is in Japanese too. Apart from these minor issues, the car is great! I don't regret my purchase at all. Well... Apart from being in a hole the next few years, paying it off.

1 pointI did mine as preventative maintenance, these cars go mental when they start to fail. You could also grab your multi meter and wait 15 minutes after you turn it off so it goes into sleep mode then check the current drain at each fuse to narrow it down.

1 pointIMHO BMW(s) lost their soul in about 2004 when electronics became fundamentally more important than mechanics.
-
1 pointI don't think they did. I also don't think they got dual zone aircon either. I could be wrong. And I never knew ALL coupes had M-sport suspension.. Looks like a steal. :puke: EDIT: Actually mine has dual zone aircon wtf am i thinking

1 pointThey can do both lanes without closing the road, its not like concrete you can drive on it straight away, they only have to move the cones.

1 pointnever got why people want to know how many were made.. irrelevant 20 years later when many are written off, wrecked, scrapped etc. Tourings have no issues specific to the touring, some would say the boot lid wiring, but all E34s even sedans get issues with the wiring to the boot/tailgate. 20 years on, E34 probably still one of the most reliable BMWs, very well built, modules rarely fail etc, just cooling issues they share with E36
