2 pointsG'day, Took the old girl today for a ride to the city and to watch the sunset. I have owned her for three months, and it's an absolute pleasure driving her. She does get a little extra attention, unfortunately.

2 pointsSold! That was much quicker than I thought. I'm too honest to say driven sparingly but yes it was garaged Obviously priced it right and presented it well...

2 pointsHi guys, Unfortunately the for sale section is going to the dogs again as far as adherence to the basic rules. As of today onwards the moderators will be removing any thread that doesn't have the basic requirements for a for sale thread without warning. This applies to everyone including us mods/admins. If you find your thread gone in the for sale section, this will be why. I have updated the rules in the For Sale section here http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/20961-please-read-before-posting-an-item-for-sale/

1 pointlol, the addiction is still there. I'm not going to part with the 740i. I've had my mind on a E34 for a while now. Must be a V8 manual though..
-
1 pointhey, what happened to the "driven sparingly as family car, never ridden hard and put away wet"? #8 ) GLWS

1 pointTony, the Metric tyres seem to be unobtanium** these days. At least if Barry finds some replacent rims in a 'normal' size soon, there'll still be some tread remaining on the TRX's for concourse events. #8 ) They are awesome though: EDIT: well, there are websites listing TRX 220/55 VR 390 for sale, but at nearly 300 quid a corner they're not exactly cheap. Or buy new from Coker Tires, they produce 'em with the original moulds... ouch, USD400 per corner.

1 pointOn Saturday I washed and dried mine, blacked the tyres, and made an image or two of it wearing its new boots. On sunday I drove it to upper hutt and back. and I liked it! #8 )

1 pointHave you been treated for your addiction to e38s? I hope a new addiction is brewing as that is a cool car and difficult to replace........
-
1 pointYou will need 1/2" rather than 3/8. Even at normal torque it is a load for 3/8. I've even split a Stahlwille !/2" socket on tight nuts before. Use impact sockets now.
-
1 pointYou'll be farting against thunder trying to do that with the wheel on. Use a power bar to release the wheel nuts. I find this frequently on AA callouts when some muppet has over tightened the wheel nuts - yesterday infact

1 pointAll good brother. Perhaps you are right about the knowledge. I guess my beef was with people I don't know and who don't know me discussing something publicly they don't know and I do without my knowledge or permission. As far as my TradeMe comments go, TradeMe is a place that brings all sorts of wannabe hopefuls out of the woodwork. For example, I had a prospective purchaser view the vehicle, then promise me he would call me (soon I think was the word he used) - still waiting! So I treat everybody on that media with trepidation and scepticism. Fortunately there is always a diamond in the rough. I hope that my sale, at asking price, has boosted the value of the M3's that you and your friends own. See you trackside one day? PS. There will be another M3 for me one day. You never know I may come looking for advice on which one that should be.

1 pointThis whole argument is stupid, both sides of it. Yes there are ferns on graves overseas, yes there are many thousands of gravestones without ferns on them too. Currently deceased servicemen are buried in a casket dressed with the current flag, and it does hold a special importance to soldiers. Unfortunately many don't understand that importance as they have never stood to attention morning and night as it is raised and lowered. They have never fired a 21 gun salute to say goodbye to a friend, or hoisted the casket dressed in the flag. Many of those that have, and indeed everyone I have spoken too have said that the flag holds a special place in their heart, myself included. To belittle that importance without knowing it personally, as many journalists and others have done so, I find to be extremely insulting. Yes there are reasons why people may want to change the flag, but that particular one is not a good one at all. The RSA hold their position on it for a reason, we may not fully understand it, however we should still respect it.

1 pointThere is a minimum post count before you can create a new thread in this forum. You can still reply to other peoples threads if there is something you would like to buy. This is to stop spammers, scammers and retailers from signing up just to sell their crap. Please post a price and photos for any items that you have for sale. "Offers" isn't good enough. If you want to get the best price for your item just start high and work down. Your much more likely to sell something when people know how much you're after. And it saves people making stupid offers cluttering up your thread. As a general rule please post photos of the item for sale. Especially items like wheels and tyres, bodykits, vehicles etc. If its items like shocks, springs or other parts where its difficult to judge condition the photo doesn't have to be the exact item, you can use a similar item just so there is no confusion over what your selling. Its also an idea to provide as many details as possible: Age, distance travelled, condition, any faults, colour, relevant history, transmission, options, etc These rules make it much more transparent for people looking to buy, and you're more likely to sell your item. At a minimum your for sale thread requires: * A clear photo of the item being sold * A price, (''offers'' isn't good enough) however $2000 or near offer is fine * A location of where the item is being sold from EG Wellington All threads that dont adhere to these rules WILL be removed without warning or explanation.
