She's back on the road. Had a few small issues today while getting it going. The rear calipers that I put on from the e34 were actually seized so I had to swap the e28 ones back on. While not a big deal, it's something I want to get sorted so will look for other e34 ones later. Might be luck to get some vented ones. Other than that, everything was pretty straight forward. I had to make a temporary bracket for the accelerator cable as the e34 sleeve is not quite right so didn't reach with the factory mount. So I will try to find a cable that does work. Next jobs will be tidying up the wiring and finishing that off and wiring the fan in. Also need to install my new cluster. Also going to order a new heater core and redo flaps as I currently get no hot air. Does anyone know if they are RHD and LHD specific? Can't find any information on this. Overall I am very happy with it, goes so much better then the eta ever dreamed of. It has a slight miss and a bit of a bog on take off, I think this motor needs a proper service such as new plugs etc. But even with this it goes very well. And does mean as burnouts. And that concludes this weeks episode: How to do an M30 swap in 2 weeks (and a day if you want to be picky). Up next: Conclusion is an illusion; nothing's ever 100% finished. Also might have a special live appearance from Highway Patrol. They grow up so fast.

And so begins the journey. Fairly busy weekend, Andy was nice enough to drop off an exhaust for me. I replaced all the seals on an E36 steering rack, more because I could rather than because it needed to be done. (So hopefully it is leak free) Here is is in pieces:: Managed to get the M20 out with no issues. (Didn't forget to disconnect anything) And of course the classic "in the engine bay shot". Or as my friend always states "Another BMW powered by hopes and dreams" Had it all out before 12PM. Then went to split the gearbox, someone had clearly been at it prior. -Mix of Hex and Torx bolts for the gearbox to the engine -End of Torx bolts rounded off due to the incorrect sizing -Rounded out bolt that holds the clutch to the flywheel Aim is to have the M52 in next weekend, so that will be a good challenge.

Well I've recently purchased my e36 328i manual coupe. After having a great time with Japanese cars (previously an interface type r and a series 1 rx7) I've made the switch to my first European car and loving it! Work in progress for my coupe is restoring leather m sport interior to replace my current M sport half leather interior, new suspension setup and making my style 66 wheels fit perfectly .

Go on Dave, you know you need an 'iL' to add to your e38 collection. This one needs a little attention in a few spots, seems clean and honest overall? 1996 750iL a mere 170k kms asking $5000 1996 750il fully loaded cd player and mini screen not working Pretty sure all the other fruit works. Has had new rear rotors, brake lines all round, front and rear suspension components, starter, battery, radiator plus others. Body and Interior tidy, photo's indicate major faults. Excellent engine, and I have just had the trans serviced and checked out by Kaspa Auto's. The technician said the trans drove beautifully. Awesome car on a trip, quiet, smooth and effortless, and excellent fuel economy for a v12 pulling 2.3 ton. A lot of car for the money, no offers pls.. ... one assumes the black cat is not included.

Saw this car yesterday, you've done a very tidy job of putting that motor in. Nice work.

Miles better than it ever was with PS. Used to be very vague on-centre, the PS delete completely got around that. Obviously heavy at low speeds, but really tight and responsive, and the feedback is really good. At some point i'll do a sporty e46 rack swap with PS, but until then this is all good.

I apologise for the lack of updates over the last few days, I've been busy working on the car. It is now all physically back together, drivetrain, exhaust, brakes, engine etc all done. All coolant hoses etc are hooked up. I have also relocated the battery to the trunk using e36 parts. Tonight and over the weekend I will be doing the last few small jobs and doing the wiring. The plan to have it driving by the end of the weekend looks very realistic. More to come soon.

For those of you that have not seen this its well worth watching. Such wanton destruction of bmw's and others of course. Worth watching in full screen.

Hey guys, Installed the following parts this week, VRSF 7" Intercooler VRSF Charge pipe HKS SSQV4 BOV BMS DCI and flashed the MHD Stage1 FMIC map. The car is pulling harder than before peaking about 17-18 psi. I am very much happy with the turbo spooling music from the DCI and the Pss -- Psss sound from the HKS. I was kind of worried if the HKS would be too annoying after a while, but no.. , I started getting addicted to the sound. As our cars are well insulated HKS was not too loud as I expected and I liked it. Will post some videos of how the bov sounds when the windows are up, down and at full and low throttles. Sometimes the HKS makes these double PSS sound due to its synchoronous design which is soo cool. I was planning on installing the purple fin earlier before I got it but I think will leave it like this. The VRSF 7" Intercooler was spot on, had to cut the plastic shroud though. The VRSF Chargepipe was a direct fit like the factory C clips in the stock chargepipe and was easy to install. I got the VRSF lower charge-pipe as well so everything was a good fit. Tiago from VRSF is a helpful guy and his customer service was excellent. The products came well packed and there were no damages during shipment. Need to get the BMS Oil Catch Can and have the Intake valves cleaned to complete my Stage1 Tuning process. I talked to Ray from HellBM who gave me a quite reasonable quote for having the Alpina Trans flash installed. Will be doing this next month. Cheers..

Just an update on what I've been up to over the past couple of weeks. Ordered replacement ODO gears from garagistic and replaced those. While I had the cluster out, I noticed that the break wear sensor light was removed. So I put that back in, and what do you know, it was permanently on. Had a quick look around the car, and someone had obviously had a go trying to sort this previously, as both front and rears had been cut, and re-joined. Checked the resistances and was still reading a little bit of resistance, even when bypassing the sensors. Out of curiosity, I swapped a spare cluster in. Break wear sensor worked perfectly fine. I know that the resistor for break wear sensor comes loose causing it flicker on and off, but it was firmly attached to the main board. So I just swapped the boards around. Super happy that all my dash lights now work, and all my check panel lights work too. (Brake wear only lights up when starting the car) Swapped the sports seats in, and also put in some black leather door cards that I had floating around. Looks a bit mismatched, with blue fronts, grey rears, and black doorcards, but plan to re-upholster the front seats in black leather much later on. Found a few things when doing all this work Bit of rust in passenger's B column And also the factory running in instructions. Then since she was all back together, took her in for a wof. She failed on fog lights not working (bulbs both gone), split windscreen wipers, and one of the front shocks was leaking. So ordered a pair of Koni sports for the front from George Stock, and they showed up the next day. Date on the box is 07-07-2014, so they've been sitting around for a while, but should be fine. So that's a job for Sunday.
