1 pointFCP kit looks good, just confirming your car has the japanese type external reservoir on the right hand side (drivers side) like in that picture, and not the New Zealand new type with the expansion tank built into the left hand side (passengers side) of the radiator? i note that it has the aluminium type thermostat housing, this is a worth while part, and the external expansion tanks common to split. the rest of the kit like the pully, the fan temp switch, belts and hoses may be needless expenditure, but might be nice to do it for the piece of mind everything is done. if your intention is to do the entire cooling system, that kit does miss out the hoses at the back of the head that go to the heater matrix, and the heater matrix itself. something to be aware of As for a Fenix aftermarket one, buying the same product local is one thing, but buying an inferior product for the sake of buying local is another. Get a Behr radiator (as in the kit you linked).

1 pointlate-80's BMW NZ did a cool full-page advert for April Fools Day about how the new 7 series grill slats moved to change airflow with speed, for improved drag coefficient. Great that this has surpassed mere humour to become reality! Somewhere in the attic I still have a copy of the advert.

1 pointThought I better update this thread. I ripped the dash out and installed a new evaporator and valve, a new heater core, a new drying container, and every single seal and oring in the whole system. While I was in there I even removed the front carpet and cleaned that. It was scary having the whole dash out but I took my time and everything went back together fine. On Friday I go back to coolcar to have the system refilled, so fingers crossed.

1 pointFirstly, welcome to the forum. I will start by saying - I totally disagree with the seat bypass. It is illegal to tamper with the system - regardless of the fact that the air bag should still operate. They were installed for a reason! As far as the replacement module, i am pretty sure they cannot be reprogrammed for a different application - the 7 would have had more bags installed no doubt. You will need one that is programmed the same as yours. Or a new module which does need programming to the car.

1 pointI was on my Vespa with the wind breezing through my hair and eyes, so maybe haha

1 pointSo true though eh, I used to get it all the time on Trade Me. Even worse when you try sell certain models of cars that attract those types of 'cash' buyers.
-
1 pointwent for a strole through picapart the other day to get a bumper for a honda, when i spotted a car i recognized it was a white ac schnitzer e36 318tii knew it lowwerd but i didnt think it would have a set of bilstein adjustable coil overs. so for 170 smackaroos the coupe is getting another up grade. i didnt come out with what i was after though but i think im still better off.

1 pointI occasionally offer bricks of hash or coke instead of cash, you need to pick your sellers though!
-
1 pointWhen people ask a question on trademe offering substantially lower than the buy now, but, wait for it... "Cash". What else do they think they can pay with?! Their McDonalds toy collection? I am a private seller, I don't do finance, therefore every sale is "Cash"!!!

1 pointI have a 4.5 turn brushless in my TRF511, now that's a performance engine motor.

1 point100Hp/ litre seems about right to me, but a performance engine alone is useless, 500 hp in my 1900 Kg M5 gives good performance, 215 hp in a 650Kg Fraser clubman also gives excellent performance , but a 215 Hp 2 litre Iitre in my M5 would be rubbish! 500 hp in a 650kg Fraser on the other hand.....

1 pointHonestly they are f**king hopeless. i usually ring them once the tracking shows its waiting for customs clearance. I dont mind paying the gst, but having to wait an extra two weeks is unacceptable
-
1 pointHow did you get the GST payment sorted so quickly? It took NZPost 4 days to send me a letter saying that something had arrived and fees were due, but they forgot to calculate how much so I couldn't pay online. I spent 30 minutes on the phone to NZ Customs in Tauranga (who were very helpful) and then it took NZPost another 3 days to get the parcel out for delivery.

1 pointJust a note on this, if you have the N46 Engine that my 2004 318Ti Compact does then your connection to DME for the cruise control will be different Look at these instructions http://thegannet.bulldoghome.com/CCInstructions.pdf which includes the N46 engine. Your DME will have two connector blocks, take off the smaller one and remove the BLACK 26 pin connector from the block. You need to attach the Cruise control cable to PIN 4, there will possibly already be a Blue/white cable in pin 4, simply remove this and insert your cable. THEN WHAMMY ITS ALL WORKING! Just completed this DIY and the wife is very happy!
