5 pointsNo good for Auckland, that big cut-out in the side would let all the rain in, and some low-life would pinch all your stuff while you were asleep.

4 pointsFollowed my wagons slightly dirtier cousin into Carls jr on Paul Mathews rd, had to park up and get a photo.

2 pointsI now have a couple of aluminum suspension struts, spring seats, and shock bolts in my hot mitts. Photos later. It feels like Xmas. now, if only I could convince the beast to pass a fuel station without visiting. May have to recalibrate the loud pedal. #; )

1 pointHowdy, I'm new to all of this and have done a fair bit of research but before I go splicing wires I need a wee bit of guidance and someone to say "Yup looks good" or "Wrong, x needs to go to y" etc. If I'm way off it'll be going to a pro, but why not give it a crack myself first. I'm using a Link G4 Storm and the stock Motronic 1.3 harness. Plan is to just remove the 55pin connector, strip the wires, crimp to wires on the Link harness and heat shrink. M20B27 block, M20B25 head, add a turbo. A few things I'm unsure of: On the pinout guide I'm using for the Motronic, pin 8 is labelled as "Cylinder ID Sensor," as is pin 31. Which of these is for the crank position sensor, and which is the cam sensor/wire on the spark plug wires? Pin 36 "Main relay output," does this connect to a digital input on the link side? Pin 37 "Switched power from main relay," does this connect to an Auxiliary output on the link? Throttle position sensor - can the stock M20 one be used? Lastly, the are two "engine speed inputs" on the motronic, pin 47 & 48, do these both connect to the link digital inputs? Appreciate any input. I've attached images of what I plan on doing so far in terms of what's getting connected to what. For the most part it's pretty straightforward, but I have put a "?" in the left column of the things I'm unsure of Thanks team! EDIT: This diagram/table is very wrong, please don't use it! I am almost finished with a new table which is (somewhat) correct. I will post it here soon so people can use it if need be.

1 pointHi all, I've been a long time BMW fan and only last year pick up my first one recommended by a friend (2005 740i). My son wanted an E30 for his first car so we found a one owner car with full BMW service history (89 325i sedan) and its become his fix up project until he is old enough to drive. While driving it home and around the place I grew to enjoy it a little too much and ended up buying myself and E30 too (86 325i Convertible) We are now a 3 BMW family and I'm loving driving the E30s. The sedan and the convertible need some work here and there so what better place to come than here to mix with the best best minds and most passionate people in the BMW world :). I hope to get some help and help others with anything BMW over time. I've been hitting Ebay pretty hard picking up parts etc but would like to also tap into any options locally too. My son and I are really looking forward to getting out with other owners and doing some weekend drives etc too. Might see you around on the forum pages..... Cheers Mat

1 pointI followed a black 745Li this morning. Dark tinted windows, big plastidipped wheels (maybe 19s, with peeling), scabby-looking tyres with well-scrubbed sidewalls, slammed, bouncy suspension, loud exhaust, broken near side mirror, and a driver who threw rubbish out of the window on to the road - looked like a Bundaberg bottle cap. Y'know - the pull ring type. Change lanes without indicating, accelerate hard (loud exhaust) before swapping lanes at traffic lights (no indicator), then sit with arm dangling out the window holding a cigarette. At least there wasn't evidence of a multi-MW stereo playing music for the whole neighbourhood to hear!

1 pointHead towards brands like APR or Mishimoto which for a given size have lower pressure drops and denser fins on the cooling area. ( better air temp drop) Both are quality brands. A number of race car fabrication places in NZ can also build you a high density intercooler. plenty of choice
-
1 pointHere is the sedan on its original wheels as it is now plus a shot of the nice tidy dash and sweet crack free dash.
-
1 pointJust make sure whatever you buy isn't the same thing with a different brand, I'm sure a lot of these aftermarket intercoolers are made at the same factories and just have very high mark-ups, maybe with a few simple changes so they look slightly different
-
1 pointNot sure on how big the standard ones are I need to do a bit more research
-
1 pointwhats your definition of short term? when do you actually arrive.A workmate MAY be in a position to help. His parents arrive late April tho
-
1 pointThose mini wheels do nothing for your sons e30 which would look 1000x better on bottlecaps but otherwise very nice. Same with your vert. Go pull out the rear taillights and tell us no rust there too! Im waiting to see your e65 haha

1 pointPlenty of reviews online for cheap intercoolers, just search "Ebay intercooler review." All the cheap ones are basically the same. After reading through a few I decided to go with an Ebay intercooler for my turbo build. They work but your car will be breathing hotter air and therefore be less efficient and produce less power when compared to something higher quality with more cooling fins. For a vehicle like yours I'd go with something higher quality and more expensive unless you're on a tight budget like I was. Avoid painted ones too, reduces efficiency plus the paint flakes easily. Ask me how I know. If you are after a cheap setup, save yourself a few bucks and get it from from Aliexpress for $280NZ landed.

1 pointWas meaning in NZ, no doubt we aren't the worst drivers around. Everyone knows what a BMW grill looks like, take badges off a Toyota and i bet the average person wouldn't be to ID many of them.
-
1 pointThanks that was too easy. So easy in fact I thought it can't be that easy!!! I've always had to use photobucket in the past and never remember my password haha CHEERS!!!!

1 pointThis is my 86 E30 convertible. Body is totally rust free, I mean I can't find anything anywhere. Engine is sweet but has a few bits that are not original which I'll fix up over time. Interior is in excellent condition too but the dash is cracked unlike the sedan which is mint. It looks like its on lowered springs too. Only had it 2 days so still coming to understand it all. Still has the original handbook with it too which is always a nice touch.
-
1 pointThis is my son's 89 E30 325i - 1 owner car with full and I mean full BMW service history. The old owner even photocopied the service pages when the handbook pages ran out. Engine purrs like a kitten but it needs some body work. It has tan leather interior too. The wheels didn't come with it, they are off my other son's new Mini )same stud pattern). The car runs standard bottle caps wheels. We just popped these on for the photos.

1 pointHi All, So the weekend was depressing as the timing case broke on my UTE just before the rebuild (more wasted money and hard to find part)...So in my searches on the interweb i came across a local who had a gem sitting in his driveway ready to be refresh or re-purposed. Its an 95 750il w 162k on the clock, its missing a few items but nothing that i am sure i would be able to find here or from our sponsors. Its currently de-registered, so that's where i am un-decided, so thoughts would be awesome as when my engineer finds out about me spending more money on other things i may need somewhere to hide Plan:???

1 pointmy favorite is fcp euro for sure but dont think they have a huge range of things for E30's
-
1 pointCheers mate, better-sized tyres & 10mm spacers help a lot I think. Fronts were too wide before and rears sat in too far, looked weird.
-
1 pointHad a great day out. My best time was 12.4 They sprayed the track so traction was pretty good.

1 pointAdmittedly this was about a month or 2 ago now, but yeah. I have upgraded from a 320i 2001 to a 330ci 2002. Here is the link to the photos from when I first picked it up https://imgur.com/a/dE6WS Here is a photo of my old 320i https://imgur.com/7tl9Xph (Which is for sale if anyone is interested) I am so happy with this car. I have a few little modifications in the works for it, but nothing that will ruin it or change how it looks and I have a few little cosmetic fixes/touch ups to do.
