4 pointsI had a look at this M5 the other day and can confirm that the Turners photos definitely do not do this car justice. It is probably one of the best examples that you could find in NZ. Great overall condition, not super-mint, but obviously very well cared for and totally original as far as I can see. The idea of a grey interior with Violet exterior sounds not so great on paper, but in the flesh I think that it actually works. It has seude side bolsters (a little rubbed up on the drivers seat, but nowhere near wearing through) and "M-rain" grey fabric inserts. Gear knob would need replacing to tidy it up, and the steering wheel is a little shiny, but otherwise looking very clean and way better than any e34 interior that I have seen recently. If I owned it, the first thing I would do would be to change the chrome detailing around the side windows to Shadowline black. And probably delete the lower silver grey trim to body colour. And put some proper tyres on it (has some Bridgestone "Sporty Style" Japanese import numbers on it) I have attached a few slightly better photos.

3 pointsI think the turners pics don't do it justice.... With better photography and some elbow grease it would look amazing. Because of what it is though, you could take pics with a toaster and it will still get the attention it commands from buyers.

2 pointsE28 mudguards, probably the most pointless thing in existence. All they do is get in the way and retain mud... (yes that's a bucket full of crap that came out)

1 pointI thought it was about time I started a project thread to document what I have already done and what I plan to do to my E30. Hopefully it'll give me a little motivation to get thru the list of items that require attention. When I brought it 6 months ago it was running a little rough. After a quick trip to the Park Road E30 Performance Centre, the problem was quickly resolved. The distributor cap had a huge crack so that was promptly replaced and now runs like a dream. Items that no longer require attention: Oil change, Fitted a SA spec boot lining and half a tool kit , Replaced the sump that had a hairline crack, Removed the superlow springs in the rear that were not captive and replaced them with some lows, Fitted E36 window switches, Items that require attention: Insert items listed on back of Heineken box here... Here are some photos on the day I aquired the car. Enjoy

1 pointthought it was about time to join this page and share some photos and yarns of my turbo e30 build that has been on going for nearly 3 years... not to sure what else i'm meant to say

1 pointThe drivetrain changes here for me are the ultimate goal. Anyone got a E39 drivetrain lying about they want to get rid of? https://petrolicious.com/articles/this-engine-swapped-six-speed-sedan-is-the-m7-that-bmw-never-built

1 pointThanks Dave Unfortunately it's a waiting game at the moment for me. The supplier i'm going through to get the new conrod bearings is have a bit of trouble with the suppliers in German. I don't know if your dealt with engineers before but they tend to take a very long time with one off projects as my heads are still at the same stage when i dropped them off 3 months ago. Other than that the motor would have been back together if i had those bits back. But you know how the saying goes "good things take time"

1 pointI followed this build from the beginning and it's gone through a progression of wheels. Here are a few of his past choices. It'd be nice if the S62 drivetrain was as cheap and accessible as it is in the US. Started with M-Pars. He's always had great taste in cars. Heres his last E38.

1 pointBuild Date March 1994.Chassis JB02939 Reg No SS1338 Supplied by TMBMW July 1994.Full service history. At a cost of more than $110000 on the road there were not many of these AC Schnitzer S3 silhouette coupes bought into NZ. With the M50 2.5 engine producing 190 HP,a top speed of 150MPH and 0-60 in 6.5 seconds (AutoCar magazine Aug 1994) this car was no couch potato, these are respectable figures even today. One owner till June 2013 and on the mainland since, it has travelled 96000 kilometres. Always garaged, driven in the dry only, and in perfect original condition. $13000 For more detail PM or call 029 777 4006 Thanks for reading Update 05 October 2017 Car sold in Feb 2016 to third owner in Tauranga. And in July this year 2017 we bought the car back. It has a recent service with Coombes Johnson in Tauranga, and a complete four corner suspension refresh (Bilsteins), new bushes and sway bars, and new brake rotors too. So now it is really is a show car, and go car! The car is still in Tauranga, and if we don't sell it or deal it on something else I'll bring it back to the South Island, although at the moment there is no room in the garage! 1 pointIf I was going to spend big money on a straight cut gear set, I would not be putting them in a 323i. Just my 2 cents.

1 pointBUMP me to the top. Updated info and price car sold to Tauranga Feb 2016 repurchased July 2017. Car still in Tauranga. Long story short too many cars not enough space or time to bring it south. Call or email for more info. Have lots of pix.

1 pointI do like shots of a nicely cleaned and polished car but theres also something to be said for shots like these with a car thats been "driven" to a stunning location. Very cool.

1 pointi still absolutely love this view ugly ...UGLLY????!!! Flickr i get where you are coming from.I love the E24 but i hate the interiors now THAT is old fashioned

1 pointaccording to the website it doesnt say re003's are excluded from the deal http://www.bridgestonetyrecentre.co.nz/promotions/current-offer/?gclid=CjwKEAjw6szOBRCF2sPTjfrJuXASJADDOLEFUWpZ9U3Cm9jJIZHYd-hxTuAYNFhqqOAeEBrZrkvcJxoC5Lbw_wcB#TermsAndConditions also if they insist that you need to buy 4 of the same size then maybe find another person to get 4x fronts 4x rears (t the price of 6 tyres) and make 2 sets

1 pointThe E34 is and will always been the last old era BMW before they switched to the newer generation style, that were noticeably different in quality, different plastics, less glass and such things. The other main difference was a lot more network based electronics too. The E34 to E39 difference is pretty significant, as is the E30 to E36, E32 to E34 etc They all have their pros and cons I think. Style wise the E34 remains the definative BMW for me, like an E30. If I bought another BMW it would probably be an E34, I loved my old one!

1 pointAt least we can all agree its got nothing on the Leaf, inside and out The exec leather with wood trims etc on later models do look much better. Here my old one which i replaced the lower dash panels with black items - looked much better than the random grey\black mixture i thought

1 pointI really like this! Been following the build from the beginning - done right. I am an e38 tragic now after 11 years of ownership. His interior looks like a nice place to be....

1 pointAfternoon Team So managed to get a bit more done yesterday. With the help of my awesome mechanic mate Master G. He brought his tool box with him too. Unfortunately didn't get as far as i wanted as one of the piston bearings was really worn which i must have overlooked when checking them. So the decision to do it once do it right was applied. Managed to get the crank and main caps back on with the right torque settings. Put the new piston rings on the pistons and now just got to order a complete set of new piston bearings tomorrow. Managed to find the info online on torques settings. Didn't realized how many pages it was! as you can see pretty much printed a book. So if any one is looking for torque settings for any BMW motor I could let you know. Also was pretty handy how the directions and pictures to install the rings were dummy proof. Wrapped the block up in glad wrap to keep the dust out. The crank spun so smoothly even Master G was surprised on how well it was freely spinning by hand after bolts were torqued up. Really looking forward to bolting the dry sump on to see how compact it is.

1 pointIntake and valve cover ready. Also finished sanding the spoiler but didn't get any photos. Will get some later when I do paint. Swap should be starting in 2 weeks, as soon as my last few bits arrive.
-
1 pointVery nice and tidy! Same colour as my one. As well as going back to a crome grill, that aerial needs to go.
-
1 pointLooks awesome. Only thing I'd change is to run a stock chrome rimed grill again. I think the chrome/black contrast helps to make it look more interesting, matching the other stainless/chrome bits. Each to their own of course.
-
1 pointlooks good brett! have you gone back to a chrome grill though? think it would suit that car more than the black?
