Not even factory msport. Has odd coloured side skirts too. To me the car looks ugly and just weird but everyone has different tastes so..

OK then, I thought I'd done one of these already when I first signed up but can't find it and was never active really to begin with. So, here goes. I'm Jonny, from not far away from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Spent the most of my life there and moved to New Zealand with my partner a little over two years ago. Haven't looked back. I was lucky enough to have my pick of several e30s thanks to a stash that was within my partners family. Mine is a fairly bog standard more door 320i and I love it. It had a couple of nice extras mainly the AC Schnitzer Skirts and rear apron as well as more than 305 thousand ks on the clock, when it stopped working.. I came here knowing nothing about cars and now thanks to this car, I work in the industry and I learn something every day. Since owning the car, I have changed the interior from standard grey leather and grey door cards to full black leather with matching cards. At one point I had a full sports set in the front but they were poked and for the money I got for those, I have Rover 220 leather seats I got from Pick a Part plus had a little surplus. They're almost exactly the same size. I've done the likes of the timing belt, waterpump, control arms, bushes, shocks and brakes all round. Recently adding to this by adding lowering springs to remove that natural height they seem to have with 15inch rims. I'm now in the process of getting ready to repaint the car. It's currently diamond schwartz metallic and I'm going to keep it that way. I had originally planned to wrap the car and may still do in the future to protect the paint but rust issues in the original doors led to me having to replace them. There's no point doing half a job and beige door shuts would look a little off. These things are an investment apparently.. Yeah so, I've likely missed a few things but there we go, that's you mostly caught up. I'll try to be more active this time, once I know my way around a little better, I'll look into making a build thread. Not that she's anything special. It's just nice to keep track of things and hopefully have some chats with the like minded out there. No doubt I'll know some of you already. Cheers!

Zero to 60 is one of the better YouTube channels when it comes to BMW turbo cars. They test a lot of what they do and it certainly debunks how fast cars are on the road. They even have a bit of E39 stuff as well. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtEQM9eop5tRO-eWN6-AQwQ/featured

Wouldn't the bore spacing on the S5X ITBs be wrong for an M30? I think I have a dual carb setup at home somewhere. There's also the path I'm, planning to take which is using the earlier two piece "banana" intake manifold and using only the initial piece with some motorcycle TBs bolted to it. Example here: https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/forum/general-forums/members-rides/the-project-forum/376836-m30b35-backyard-budget-itb-s

I saw mention of KRS-One in the docos, so I've been having a bit of a tour on Spotify. I'm digging it, currently on the earlier Boogie Down Productions. While gangsta and hardcore aren't my thing, he's really pretty clever, and I like the Jamaican influence** ?. "wa-da-da-dang, wa-da-da-da-dang, this is K-R-S-One, I knew a crack dealer by the name of Peter, had to buck him down with my nine-millimetre...." Super Hoe is brilliant ?. And I've definitely heard 'The Bridge is Over' before. This is fun. ** see if you can hunt out "Jackie Mittoo, the keyboard king of Studio One".

Seems like a minter but the full de-badge to me makes it look like a car that’s ready for a commercial where branding needs to be omitted. And really? You could have paid 5k to de-badge including the actual bmw emblems??

Ran some polish over mine, followed by a wax. I had to go out to take the cat to the vet so took a quick picture in their carpark. Trying to channel @Jacko. One thing I will say is that I ordered Armor-All wheel cleaner and it's definitely not up there with the other brands sadly. Still, the choice was quite limited on the Repco website for 'essentials' with most stuff being out of stock.

Haha i was going to state exactly the same line but figured you'd say it yourself. More disadvantages than advantages when using a M54 in E30 imo.

I made something similar out of my E30 race car when I went off at Pukekohe arse-end first.

I agree with modern engine with greater performance, Im just not the biggest fan of a newer plastic covered engines sitting in a 80s car haha. I love the history around the m30 keeping it period correct is the theme for this build.

Gave the 140 a retune and an AFE filter to extract some more power. Xtra quick trip to the Supermarket. Also gave me a chance to have a play with the just released MSS6X Flasher. Gave it a big tick.

@treone Greg, I'm studying Hip-Hop with my son at the moment for his Sonic Arts assignment with the whole lock-down thing. It's interesting, as my part of Hip-Hop is more around the fringes as I was more into indie, electronica and rock through the 80's and 90's (as well as a long-standing passion for Jazz). Of course, there's a 12" of The Message in my collection. There's a great documentary on Amazon Prime called simply '808', charting the influence of the Roland TR-808 Rythmn Composer on music overall, encompassing hip-hop, dance, mainstream... https://www.amazon.com/808-Damon-Albarn/dp/B06XSNHSY9 And I've found an expansive (and instructional) documentatary series on the history of Hip Hop on Netflix (four whole seasons!) called 'Hip Hop Evolution'. We're working our way through it. Building a working definition of Hip-Hop for his assignment. I'm along for the ride, and learning plenty. Who said lock-in with your family can't be fun? https://www.netflix.com/title/80141782 EDIT: Sorry folks, repeating myself (although with greater detail) - my post of 12 April earlier on this thread mentions the above. D'oh!
