Yeah im not a fan of modern car design in general but BMW just keep going down hill.
2 series active tourer and 5\6 series GT are couple of the worse BMW's to me. Good examples of BMW trying way too hard to fill every market segment and coming up with abominations.
Im the opposite lol, I'd just buy the cheapest one with the best condition/history, regardless of the colour. I wouldnt pay extra for a colour, especially LSB as i think its ugly π
I'm swapping from auto to manual as part of my project and I have the BMW clutch hard line to install ... of course every video on the all knowing interweb is for left hand drive where its super easy. Has anybody done the line install on a right hand drive and what was required ?
From the looks I need to get the carpet back far enough to route the line from one side of the car to the other ... and for that the dash would have to come out. Please tell me there is this one weird old trick which adds inches over night, loses belly fat and gets that line in there without a ball busting detour to dash town !?
BMW almost certainly produce the ugliest cars in the modern era, regardless of how much it pains me to say that.
Pandering, by their own admission, to the Chinese market has done them a great disservice.
Cheers for that , will look into instructions and get back to you. Working most of the week so will probably be towards the tail end of this week that I can get some more info on the matter.
I went with the full 11 piece kit. The rear parts are definately lighter and the bushes have less movement. I did the rear first and there was an improvement in the way the rear felt. That said the M3 front conversion is quite an improvement mid corner understeer is all but eliminated.
New filter and second fluid change has greatly improved the driving experience, the trans engages a lot quicker when moving away and I got it to break traction!! Now I will have to tackle the ugly patches of rust/ missing bog / spray can touch ups on the body work....
MK60 is considerably less invasive than the MK20 and can be coded for different rack ratios and brake bias. The ABS thresholds are also different and performance is better with the MK60. The MK60 allows for the use of M track mode which allows even more slip before traction control kicks in. The DSC interference you describe on track likely wouldn't happen with MK60/MTM while still retaining traction control for if it slipped too far, not to mention better ABS.
Not an easy thing to convert over either as there are a lot of different sensors and wiring that needs to be retrofitted, not to mention the actual cost of the module/ABS pump etc.
For a purely road driven stock car there is unlikely to be much difference but it really depends how aggressive you drive on the street.
I see there is already a helpful βquestionβ from the peanut gallery that itβs a β5k carβ this spec with low kms even with the cosmetics is pretty hard to find these days if there are no hand grenades lurking in it.
