Ah thanks @Ghost Chip am not on Wastebook alas. Looks tidy, really don’t like the over fat wheels but they could be swapped out. I have heard some mixed views in this forum about King springs

Other end looks tickety boo as well. New oil filter housing gaskets and pressure switch done, new plugs in. Injectors off to be cleaned and benched. Now we play the wait on the courier game... milvs/gaskets/belts/pulleys/coils(with new plugs to convert my old spec car)... and every single coolant pipe. Gives me time to find a new rocker cover.

New rear tires to match the new fronts from last week. Once the airbags / compressor is fixed (hopefully next week) then I'll get the alignment sorted.

155,400 kms. Minor update today: passed its WOF with flying colours. The inspector commented on how tidy it is, although he did struggle to locate the vin number. Unfortunately no photo today as I drove it in the rain the other day and it is now filthy

Good day everyone. My name is Donovan. I just joined your community after purchasing myself a 2003 z4 2.5. Quite excited to be a part of the community and to learn so I can enjoy getting to grips with my new weekender. Pictured here is my son straight of the test drive when I decided to buy it. Curious, is there a way to tell if my car was originally a 3.0 and had an engine swap or if the car always was a 2.5 with 3.0 badges added? I’ve Googled and checked the stamp on the engine and it’s definitely a 2.5. Thank you for reading!

Check your DISA valves when the manifold is off, so much easier! Interested to follow your progress @NZ_InFerno, mine hard starts some times even with a full battery. Got a link to that FCP kit?

The silver 540 had started making a "bearing" type noise seemingly coming from alternator (?) area. The alternator was also producing a bit of a whine on the radio and new bluebus (more so on bluebus), so a spare alternator was procured and I set about taking it all apart. However I noticed the water pump was very "grindy" sounding when the belt came off. So taking the WP out and strangely it turned OK when out of the car. Then I found the reason... the bolt internal to the WP holding the cover had come loose and was machining itself on the impeller... A bit of a cleanup, some loctite, a new gasket, changed the alternator anyway, and all is well again. The noise on the bluebus is much reduced, but still there...

I have finally got the silver 540 back from the transmission shop following the post rebuild symptom of a harsh jolt going from 5 to 4 on deceleration when oil hot. All is well with them finally tracing the problem to another part of the vale body system which they have replaced a section with a good refurbished unit. Not a section they normally have to replace in a full rebuild. The car feels much better now across all shifting actually. A good result and a huge relief... except for the wheel they curbed.. which they will sort... good bugga's though really and went the distance with me... In other news the Bluebus finally arrived and has been installed so just getting the hang of that one now. Thanks to PO Rob for helping me recode the thing to suit the Japan video, something which the developer in the US did not factor in...
