New member to the forum… This is my 435i. Just got my rims powder coated black to match my soul… I mean my paint. Looking to mod it up here soon so I’m gonna be crawling through these posts to see what’s good. thanks y’all!! 🤘

FYI - I appear to have resolved my intermittent ABS light (although probably jinxed myself). Removed and cleaned the sensors - still occurring, but I purchased a service / inspection reset tool and the light has gone and has not come back for a week and a half (was every other drive previously). So hoping it was a stored fault code (not sure if E30's work like that) that the cleaning resolved but had to be reset. Anyway, hoping it stays away.

^ that is correct, for torque, the 320d is excellent. I would also hazard it is actually good in traffic too, if you do not like stop start. 30-40 minutes is more than enough to get the engine to operating temps.

Thank you for the kind words gents Hopefully once things are complete it will look pretty OEM in terms of fit and finish, that's the goal at least. Not much in the way of photographic progress to report of late bit I am achieving some pretty satisfying pieces, really cool to start seeing the engine and car go from two separate things to being somewhat integrated now !! Wired up transmission so now have functional reverse lights and neutral switch Wired up ignition on so can use the key to power up engine electrics Run all cables inside the cabin that need to go there from the back side of the 'secondary' Deutsch 31 pin connector Planned where the OBD2 connector and Arduino will be mounted Located wires for oil pressure and alternator lights to the dash Next up will be finalisation of the wiring inside the car ... fuel pump relay trigger, brake switch, power supply for Arduino, CAN connections, dashboard bits etc etc

My (un)educated guess would be that they were looking for a car and / or dude that roughly matched you and your Pugs description. My mate & I once got stopped three times in half an hour by three different Police cars as they were looking for a vehicle connected with a robbery.

Adaptive is a rare option - mine has them (UK import) but none of the others that I looked at did. Can always VIN decode (bimmer.work is probably the most accurate IMO)

$76. Plus $4 admin charge for the online transaction. Should be under $50 by end of month. If she’s going to use it for running around town, you might be better off to go petrol unless you commit to a monthly “hot” run.

Have you had any oil pressure issues? The vacuum pump and the oil pump are a combined unit and there are rare reported cases of the pump drive failing, maybe worth inspecting.

Didn't bother looking at the X3 in the end, wife didn't like the looks (Black MSport) and the interior felt half a generation behind the F31. Will check out a few more next weekend - hoping (Msport Jap import) these don't have electronic shocks? The Audi ones were insanely expensive.

Cant say I know what turtle sex sounds like, but that's certainly what I imagine. We are probably going to go down the route of bearing failure because it sounds closer to that region. maybe give it a few "accidental" Scandinavian flicks to see how it likes a bit of action before finding special tools for the job etc. after all, the previous owners both had it as a weekend car and they were both of age so I imagine its had an easy life.

The buyer has changed his mind so the car is still for sale if anyone is keen before I list her on TradeMe?

All apart, water blasted 24 years of experience off the subframe, everything else will get a clean up as well, time to order some parts.....

New rant. People whose default reaction to any question - any question - about a car, any car, is 'scan it'. No actual knowledge-based suggestion. And typically no help at all with "I get code 68 from my M50B20-equipped E36." (Yes it's a valid suggestion in some cases but there are often more straightforward answers.)

very random, I wonder what would happen/how they would react if you lead with "what seems to be the problem officer" when they asked for your ID? haha I think it is very likely that they ran your plate whilst following you prior to pulling you over so they would have already checked the car ownership then just got a visual match from inspecting your DL.

F10 and F01 are almost the same car. Same chassis, both weigh quite a lot. Interior and exterior are very similar. The F01 and F10 motorsport ones look pretty much the same to the casual observer. The chassis is very capable, especially with the 4 wheel steering, as Eagle says and can corner like a much lighter vehicle. The 6's are pretty reliable, only had basic stuff die on ours (still expensive). A lot of car for the money. I'd get a 740i over the 730d. I guess no one wants to look like grandad in his big old BMW. Everyone wants to look like they're from Herne Bay in their BMW SUV.

My brain explodes in awe every time I check the progress on this thread. Seriously, seriously impressive stuff. Nuclear physics level sh*t.
