So for people with e46s that want them a bit harder to take. 1, enable the factory alarm even if it’s just set to flash lights. Add Bonnet switch at least. Needs enabling at your fav BMW agent. 2, consider disabling internal obd port or get the product that adds a siren that activates on the dummy port. The siren can fit where the original hands free speaker used to be located. 3, mongoose or similar tracker which has a disable circuit. Mobile app will tell you if car is moved. Choose something like fuelpump or dme power to disable. 4 , payback circuit 😀, add an old spark plug coil to your fake internal OBDI port on the bus transmit. , will blow the …. out of any of the devices that tries and circumvents the EWS.

Hi All, just wanted to let everyone curious or posted here that the car was found, in Torbay of all places. Police has done their forensics and suggests a “deep clean??!” not knowing who’s been in the car. I haven’t been able to see it and won’t be able to see it till insurance is confident car is what it was before claim. from what I can see from photos was mostly bumper damage and I’ve been told only the battery is missing, not sure about engine etc, but Car is heading to BM Workshop for diagnosis and then German Kollisons for panel and paint. thanks for the discussion everyone. Keep your cars safe.

Firstly you need to get the car scanned for fault codes. There is no way of knowing what is wrong with the car without fault codes. If you post the codes here somebody may be able to help.

I have a M54B30 I'm taking the rotating assembly from. I'm not sure what the state of the block and head is but you'd be welcome to them if you're prepared to take the gamble on freight and them being no good. If they're of some use I'd be open to some beers...

Haven’t heard anything from insurance company, who probably has got anyway with the police on it. Not sure Police will be interested now that the car has been located. Hope there’s someone who’s got time to look through the footage to find who gone and done it. Should help Wilson Carpark too to improve there security.

Welded the broken seat hinge L bracket and also removed some play in the base by adding some washers (worn out or missing?). Still not perfectly solid like the F31 but at least an 80% improvement. Tiniest play in one rail left and a few mm in the hinge mechanism itself, but seat is *far* more solid an most importantly, safe and secure. Hoping once I add new seat shocks they will minimise the little play left by holding it firmly in position (current ones were easily compressible by hand and are supposed to be 400nm or so)
