The problem with only doing the head, is that you put more pressure on the bottom end , and it will go bad. Had this happen to two of my early rebuilds on the M40s. Now do both at the same time, not much more cost, but so much easier with the motor out once only.

M30's only 26kg heavier than the m20. you don't have to touch the firewall at all if you don't want to.

Reading it in context with the above bits, it prevents it being interchanged with the M10 and M40 engines, which is correct.

M40's different from both.

Just Bmw trying to confuse us all. The 240 box comes with at least two variants, the 318 version and the 320 version, they do have different bolt hole patterns.

Well, just bought a E23 745i for the S38B35 engine for the racecar. Will post pics when I get it home in a few weeks. With this, and my dogleg close ratio box, with the right diff, I hope to give some of the E36 M3's a bit of a fright. Be fun anyway.

209 cars made, 17 were dogleg manuals. I now have an auto 745, and I have a manual dogleg box as well. .

Pretty sure the jatco never went on a M30 engine, guess some of the 525's may have them tho? They sure are a bargain at the moment, good one for around $2500, gotta be value.
