Car detailing- anyone had experience with ceramic car coating?
m325i replied to Goffy's topic in Appearance
^Agree if you are keen to put the work in, sealant /wax is all good. I've heard the 'look' of ceramic has improved a lot lately, and is brand dependent. -

Maybe. Notice they do show an error from a cold start until you flash them. THen the error goes away. Not sure I can live with that.

I've heard yes - it's just an N54 after all.

Just fantasizing here! Yeah maybe 2 - why not!?!
-
I need to drive one - If my commute was shorter I would be more tempted. They can sound amazing! Multiple highly respected members here have put me off a bit though.(V8 though!) Definitely cool - especially e90.

How can you tell the OP is a competition / that those wheels are OEM? You can get good reps for ~$1500. Cindy is going to win, there will be more fuel taxes and gas guzzlers like this will continue to depreciate IMO. E46s dipped under $20k - I don't see any reason why these won't - there are way more of them + imports.

I've had decent results with ebay. But currently use Bosch.

Next one is 1m. PS, that was me 'braaap' past you just before?!?
-
I got in contact and they called me. Sounds like more a fanboy for e36's than e46's. Tough for him as he was not aware of recent e46 sales like the recent $42k and ~$36k ones.

F*%k - I've been here almost as long - 16+ years.

Very cool, but I couldn't live with that old airbag wheel.

Mint. I also bought some 'ONR' due to the water restrictions. But haven't had a chance to use it. Now i've gone so deep I'm worried it's too dirty. But just watched a video claiming it's all good on a really dirty car. FYI I see washworld in Greenlane is open. But the one on Quay St has been looted and it closed/trashed [sad]. My idea was to blast everything off and then ONR. What is your review on the rinse-less wash? Comfortable that it's 'safe'? PS - yellow 'city lights' - I've tried, not sure about it ??!?!?

$7k budget for a daily. What are you buying?

They are worse than you can possibly imagine. Cool though. Yeah and they are pretty nice. I would personally rather have a 330i e46 though, (+ drop a few grand into BT solution, and mechanical refresh) -

One looks totally fine with the fabric removed. So I would actually prefer a matching second hand one, rather than buy a new one (or two).
-
one was 'fixed' and it has residue - hence i need a new one.

WTB: e46 coupe C pillar trim (driver side) After black or a clean one with no glue if the fabric has been removed, (are they all black underneath?) Also, keen on the light insert. Cheers

I think kms are pretty irrelevant on these now. Looks pretty decent and you could tidy it up to be mint. I'd take carbon over black, but I'm colour blind, and biased.
