It’s worth doing as now the common wisdom is plates alone do not fix the flaw (floor?). I had it done with a bunch of other work, so best to talk to Ray / Hellbm. I also added the CMP solid steering coupler. I dunno if this was worth it or not - (placebo ?)
-
^ HELLBM installed the CMP kit (and plates). HellBM has done all the work on the car in fact. Future plans... perhaps a 4.1 diff and seat upgrade?!? (BTW that plate is tongue in cheek - I actually like SMG and would buy another in a heartbeat #SMGismanual)

Paint is 95% mint, and did want to do a full polish for 100% mint-ness, but have only had chance to clean and wax. I did repaint the CMP subframe reinforcement grey. Here are some pics...

yes, I have bought off him. Worked out sweet... well when the dollar was $0.75+ at least. High quality - no complaints. He's a bit slow and short on his replies though.

How hard / risky was it? I want to remove my tint, but its like 15+ years old and I'm scared of damaging the demister. I'd pay someone to do it, but scared they might too.

Would love to hear it! * adds to list *

Another new video - cool to see they guys

Yeah agree I like the Fireball stuff, was really good value before it was redistributed. They do good beading, but not sure about actual 'protection'. I'm a big fan of Collinite 845 - one bottle will last you forever.

Looks good, (and it looked good when I saw it prior to polish). I tried Powerlock a couple of months ago. I'm not sold on the longevity. Even with little rain since. It's not super hydrophobic either - but it looks great! I guess that's the idea of combining it with Collinite 845.

Crack cocaine is a lot of high for not much money too

I'll yell at you to do a skid next time.

Saw you the other day - car looks mint. Super clean. Surprisingly few mint e46 on Auckland roads....

You may have seen this guy online who has rebuilt the most v10 m5 motors in the world. He is preaching using a hotter thermostat and 5w50 oil and claims it basically nullifies bearing wear. What are you guy's view on this? I've seen some e46 m3 guys switch to this oil - but I'm wondering how you can really tell the effect, (if 10w60 and stock bearings can last, say 200km+, then you would need to to 100km+ to prove reduced wear?)
-
Might be easier to take a video?
-
Would be keen on any with E46 m3 launch articles / covers.

A lot of people seem to have 'few' issues making sick power with these. But I have heard of someone in NZ with a 'melted turbo' with less than 20km
-
Reminds me of the whole Bangle thing... Come back in 5 years. Ya'll came 'round to the e60 M5...

Buy a 330i vert. Great car IMO.

I've previously had both replaced

Have you had the previous recalls done? I have been in for two recalls already. This sounds like it is a further recall. Is that your understanding too?

Saw this on the US forum. WTF? Apparently applies to cars that had the inital recalls done too? Passenger Front Air Bag ModuleSafety Recall 20V-018BMW 3 SeriesModel Year 2000-2006Initial: 1/15/2020
