  1. S70B56Edit This is a 5,576 cc (340 cu in) variant of the M70 engine fitted only to the E31 850CSi.[4] With 1,510 units produced, this is the lowest production BMW engine to date.[5] Applications: 1992–1996 E31 850CSi
  2. Any link to it? spent the last 5 mins scrolling the classifieds and discussions and can't see it.
  3. Not sure if I want it bad enough to go back on Faceblah.
  4. I'm probably not going to try start somthing with trademe, because I might be able to get the car for a sweet price, it's close to perfect for me, just needs a third pedal.
  5. Sooooo, Rickooos may not have been the vendor doing a direct shill, but he admits the car is his friends, and he doesn't know what happened with the auction he won and failed to complete... It's funny, It's a shame Trademe only really cares about banking their success fees because I've pretty much proved the shill at this point.
  6. Mercedes built a Ute that looks a little less offensive. http://i.stuff.co.nz/motoring/news/85725554/x-marks-the-spot-as-mercedesbenz-reveals-its-new-ute
  7. Well, this might be old hat here, but today i was looking for one thing, and I found an interesting reference on Wikipedia to a couple of M3 Pick Ups protypes they built, well, 2 E30 and 1 E93 Backed up by a couple of articles here & here. One screams Brumby and the other Screams Maloo though...
  8. When i work out how to tag users, yes.
  9. I like being A patient more... last time they gave me Vicodin
  10. Will you've keeping track of designs for any brackets and adapters?
  11. Who am I kidding, fuel tank in the boot, no back seat, debatable wiring ability... id spend so much time and money getting it looking how I want, I'd rather start from scratch or be patient.
  12. Could just buy this one to get me started and swap in a 3UZ later https://www.trademe.co.nz/1362711664
  13. Saw a beautiful E30 Alpina Today, Plate was 91LPNA, I think the carjam Pic is actually it https://carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=91lpna I could make out a B on the boot, and hoped it was a B6, but it's not registered as such, registered as a 2.5L though, which may make it a C1 or C2 http://www.alpina-automobiles.com/en/product-world/model-history/bmw-3-series/bmw-3-series-e30/
  14. That sounds like an Audi or Subaru
  15. Even absolutely mint, it's probably only worth 7 or 8K, tops, and the ownership history will mess with resale big time... this is a purchase for love alone with someone that has 10k to burn I suspect.
  16. Thinking out loud as I realised after missing out on the E39 Motorsport Wagon that popped up the other day, I can't really pick one BMW to be my all rounder, so maybe the solution is more than one, but assume for a moment that I love the sound and power of the V8, but prefer the nimbleness and chuckability of E30/36's to an E34/39's, a wagon appeals for some semblance of practicality, but the even older E21/E24 shape really gets my attention... probably my perfect car got chopped and sold months back (S56 powered E30 Touring), but I'm not at all put off by the newer 335 tourings Going to have to build somthing myself, aren't I, say for example a V8 E30/36/46 touring... or will that much weight up front mess up everything I like about the handling of the smaller cars?
  17. I genuinely love the sound of a V8 over everything else, things start sounding like Japanese motorbikes or power boats if you add too many cylinders ;-) im sure this V12 will have a few bolt ons to help it not sound most 7/850's (prolonged yawns).
  18. You also have the unique position of fairly equal usage of Crunchy and what I assume to be your real name (SM), I once heard two people debating whether Crunchy or SM built better turbos. You helped me out a bundle back in the day when i was a broke ass building a mitsi libero (DECEVR), I'm still grateful to this day.
  19. Because why not is why I just liked some more of your posts
  20. I'm not sure if you know man, but for me personally, and also for the algorithms that determine popularity on this site, you're something of a star, this has to be some kind of record as far as likes to posts ratio also, not sure if the counter is all time, or over a given time span, but damn man, keep doing what your doing.
  21. So it's not a big red button that scatters boxes of donuts on the road?
  22. Anyone familiar with this car? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1363829208.htm Seems to be a ZA motorsport, with really nice spec, and I love this colour so much on E36's https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/vin/decoder/NA29773/EN S961 'Special Motor' Is intriguing, some quick googling suggests it simply means it uses Alusil instead of the problem child Nikasil, but also on the vin sheet above, it has 204hp, where garden variety 328 E36's when looked up have only got 193hp I'm concerned that a combination of unmatching wheels in one photo, recent clutch swap, absence of WOF, and a beer sitting on the roof... this may not be a cared for example. Also had 13 owners (excluding the 3 dealerships)., it looks like someone loved the heck out of this thing, owned it for 9 years from '05-'14, put 100K on the clock, then it changed hands 6 times with an average ownership length of under 5 months (4Mo, 1Day, 1yr, 7Day, 1Mo, 1yr). It's a pretty cool specimen IMO, but very possible it's had a rough time over the last 3 years/26K Toooooo many alarm bells at that price, any thoughts?
  23. I paid similar for a nicely specced E36 318iS MS, spent at least that again sorting it out, found a lot of corners had been cut (warning lamps removed from dash etc).
  24. Oh wait, they dropped the buy now back to $1400 and Bianca from Auckland bought it (Trademe stalk)
