  1. My favorite color on the E30, nice ride Towbar is optimistic for a 316 though? Even a bike hanging on the back of that thing would hurt your chances of getting highway speed
  2. If we subtract dealer tax, about 30%, we get 10K which is probably what it's worth privately, maybe,
  3. Is that really the Mercedes equivalent to an E39 M5? It's Auto!
  4. It adds 23 horse powers and helps keep the brakes cooler by increasing the drag co-efficient.
  5. I'm trying to go check it out, but while the car is around the corner from me, the actual Vendor is in auckland, and his chch car sitter seems to have been waylaid by the snow.

  7. Jepers, at 530K that'd almost be a Check the fuel and fill the oil car? I thought my old E34 540 at 380K was long in the tooth, still went hard.
  8. Well, this has to take the cake for the most Vauge Vehicle Listing on Trademe Ever. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1369850434&member_hash=a9dc4bafa3eddaa9458f413e719bba3348f373feba1dbb3451 Presumably it's running an S5X engine, and... other M stuff... and ahh... yeah.
  9. I agree. The quote box is a little chunkier on this forum than the old BB types.
  10. There is a buy sell photography group on Facebook but it's slow moving, the owner of the group started a photography based online website/auction thing i think, i looked at it for a few seconds but also seemed very slow moving. If I saw more value from trademe, like customer service that provided customer service, or a feedback system that wasn't inherently flawed, i'd feel less raw about it, I use it, because there are no alternatives, and I'd say I conservatively contribute 2k or so per annum to their coffers in success fees, I don't see how they can justify a fee so high for high value items, ostensibly the cost to them to list an item worth $10 and an item worth $1000 are about the same, I'm sure they have a cost per click as well, they used to have a sliding scale I'm sure, around 8% for low value dropping to something like 3.5% back when it was still under Sam Morgans leadership, at least they don't charge for more than one photo any more, but to say I benefit from $112 of 'advertising value' forgets that i've already probably paid $20 in extra listing fees to give myself a better chance of selling said high value item... the money goes off shore too, i think that pisses me off the most.
  11. They have market dominance, they will keep cranking it up till a viable alternative appears then they'll wind it back a bit, ala Hoyt's (or isnit event?) and Readings in Christchurch, was $16/$11, $18/$11 for years, then recently Hoyt's dropped to match them at $11, so readings dropped to $8.50, hoyts matched them almost immediately. I'd say comfortably 12 different start ups have burned millions trying to take a meaningful slice of Action off Trademe, but the only thing that's still viable against it are the Facebook for sale groups, it's only a matter of time till some kind of auction system appears on Facebook, perhaps through an acquisition of an existing platform.
  12. It's beautiful, and in Christchurch haha! Well if I turn down all the Jafa wagons that one finishes it's Auction the week after :-) I wish it hadn't met reserve already, I'd definitely consider it a strong candidate, but without knowing what the end price will be...
  13. I don't know what's worse, the failure to mention a locked diff in the listing, or the hole through the shell and cross member.
  14. My bad all, seemed like a good idea at the time.
  15. @crunchy has a few opinions on that Steve Murch guy, you might want to contact him first, word on the street is he builds better turbos anyway. Tongue in cheek, i think I'm funny but I might not be, big + 1 to contacting Steve Murch or @crunchy, His work is indisputably world class, and one could spend some time debating whether it is also word leading (which I for one think it is).
  16. Hey All, I'm chch based, but Will be doing a BMW shopping trip in Auckland, this Sunday the 16th July, because that's apparently where all the nice ones are. Mainly thinking Touring, any series, But I'm open to others. V8 Preferred and/or Manual, but something smaller Motorsport and well setup might tempt me, I loved the sh*t out of my E30 323 Coupe. Just thought I'd drop this here to see if anything is hiding off classifieds/trade me.
  17. https://touch.trademe.co.nz/motors/listing/view/1367357317 doesnt look is as bad condition as you'd expect for the price.
  18. That's in significantly worse condition than I suspected, such a shame.
  19. Yeah he has my number but hasn't contacted me... the pessimistic part of me thinks this is because it's running badly right now so he's running around like a blue ass fly trying to do the minimum necessary to fix that. Or maybe he's just not a motivated seller
  20. That would be helpful if you can get a number,
  21. Not as yet, he's elusive and maybe I was too open of my awareness of his shilling.
  22. I realise I may be buying into some drama, but it seems the really hard work of the conversion itself has been taken care of, part of my road map for it would be to soon Aquire a second engine to refresh and drop in during the manual conversion. i think I'll fly up and check it out myself next weekend, it's more than how f**ked it is or isn't, will I actually like driving it is somthing I should probably find out.
  23. I don't use Facebook, I have a ghost account for messaging only, on the offchance they won't approve me joining the group, any volunteers in AKL that can check this out for me?
