  3. Maybe we should pin a sticky thread that we can update with a register with links of M cars for sale and their prices.
  4. What the crap! That's bullshit, money grabbing buggers. it was $1300 NR and $1400 BN
  5. Congrats... but also Damn, i was eyeing this up too.
  6. https://touch.trademe.co.nz/motors/listing/view/1363234576 could be a good parts car or base for a project.
  7. So nice, you could buy one for 24K twice
  8. Looks like these guys are on a race to the bottom http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1356939622.htm
  9. Somthing is up with that link, I got a pop up window offering me a free iPhone 7 if I click OK.
  10. check out http://www.fuelly.com/ for global stats on most vehicles, contribute yourself and keep track of your own motoring costs, for example http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/land_cruiser/1998/cpjfox/437508 is my daily driver, and at the bottom of my profile page a bunch of retired vehicles, almost half of which are beamers http://www.fuelly.com/driver/cpjfox
  11. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck That must have made an interesting sound.
  12. Say it again, for the people in the back... and yet... i'm still tempted. Local PPI's are for sh*t though, i had Jeff Gray give an E39 M5 a PPI for me, and i specifically requested they be thorough under the body for rust as it was ex UK, they just didn't bother, gave it the standard once over instead, so i popped it up on a mates hoist and removed the side skirts... rust city... This auction leaves me wondering... how low can they go? Will they eventually populate scrap yards due to an imbalance of running cost and value, i heard these things are a good 5K a year to keep road worthy, without even looking at the always excessive fuel consumption.
  13. Speaking as the owner of several bargain priced BMW's in the past... never again, generally i end up spending in excess of my saving to bring them up to speed.

    New Alpina B5

    Video Up http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/06/new-alpina-b5-biturbo-promo-video-makes-us-really-jealous.html?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=M5Board.com_breaking&utm_source=M5Board.com20170628 https://youtu.be/J5OXQy6UHso
  15. Especially the black ones, they actually go really well, if your a single occupant with no luggage... 5 people and bags and they handle like a brickies wheelbarrow, but slower.
  16. pffft. my Hyundai 2010 Hyundai i30 often exceeded 1000km per tank, well under 10k these days
  17. And he says make him an offer, suggesting he'd go as low as 13 or 14k?
  18. Dealer claimeds 'TOP SPEC'! https://www.trademe.co.nz/1354500584 it has double glazing, but other than that seems fairly routine? https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/vin/decoder/DB08771/EN
  19. I agree with you, I haven't used the NZTA number though... should it not be one of these two?
  20. this one Might still be for sale... i don't think it gets better (except maybe a V8 or V10 conversion)
  21. Recently (12 June) one was listed and sold in hours for $8500 on trademe, they exist, but are rare and snapped up fast. an E30 touring with an immaculate conversion to i think an S50 engine was on Bimmer sport in the last 6 months if memory serves, it wasn't cheap but it was special.
  22. This instance gets weird though, differently or not, every single serial number of SA E34 M5's is sequential from BB77000 - BB7726, and on a list, vendor claims it was revinned, but oddly the new Vin matches a BMW r80 and a 520... depending on the engine you search. Even the south africans thought it seemed weird when i asked them. https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=80743
  23. Would an E34 m5 have a VIN on the ECU as well? There's one in NZ that doesn't seem right, VIN doesn't match it's origins, seller has a story that doesn't really add up either, parts list does seem to match, I think it's a re shell.
  24. I can testify from my experience, the 4L V8's run happily deep in to the 300,000K territory, mine never missed a beat from 320,000 when I bought it till 360,000ish when I sold it, service history is key though.
