Thanks. My 130i wheel is fine but I want my M3 wheel redone and since it's the M3 and I want it perfect, I'm prepared to pay. You should also get your VAT back too, it's not due on goods shipped outside the EU. In fact you shouldn't have been charged VAT in the first instance to be fair.
-
And where did you get it done? Looks sweet. ?

"Not for the faint hearted" says enough.

maintenance Best place for buying replacement parts?
M3AN replied to SmackJackTheCrackerMan's topic in Maintenance
Cross check FCPEuro with Schmiedmann.com, prices can go either way and FCP doesn't have some Euro specific parts. I just picked up some rotors from here: Spareto.com as they had the best total price for heavy items. -
$10k manual, that's more realistic. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2817307647

Almost guaranteed I'd say. ?

I have a square (7.5") set of polished genuine style 24's that will be available soon. Not everyone's style but they are what they are.

Removing the rear shelf is easy enough, getting it back in is a pit of a faff. I had mine retrimmed at the same time as my headliner, many people just use black fabric spray paint.

Indeed it is, nice one.

The Turner undertray - I've measured up the required cut and, as you can see, this is not a trivial or marginal fitment issue. With the bar set to the softest setting (rearward holes) I need to shave 30mm off the tray, with the bar set to stiffest (forward holes) I'd need to shave a whopping 40mm off the tray.

How does the tap attach? I'm not sure what's in the box to be honest.

Yes, it went offline at about 8pm last night. ? Never fear, there's a cabal of Bimmersporters that know better anyway. Fortunately it's still embedded in DIS/ISTA but much more of a PITA to access. First the VIN checker, now TIS, I bet BimmerGeeks or RealOEM is next. $3,800 per annum. ?

You'll love this one then Dan @ $18k: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2816014666 ? I like how "Fully Optioned" doesn't include: sunroof, F/R PDC, Hi-Fi, 18's, Aero kit, lumbar adjust, reverse camera or cruise control... what else is missing for 18k?!?
-
Yep, that's what I run in the M3 and no complaints... I wonder if the anti-hydroscopic properties of 5.1 are worth the cost?
-
So, like many of us I imagine, I have no idea what brake fluid is in my imported car (130). I'm assuming it's standard Dot 4. I want to do do a flush/replace, I realise I can't used Dot 5 if the car already has Dot 3 or 4 but I understand Dot 5.1 is fine because it's backwards compatible with everything. Given it's beneficial properties, even if I don't need them, is conventional wisdom to got with 5.1? Is cost the only disadvantage? $100 for a full flush every 5+ years doesn't concern me.

It's minor but notifications are now received from "https://bimmersport.co.nz" as opposed to "bimmersport.co.nz", outbound alias could probably be set for both as "Bimmersport NZ" or similar natural language format.

Hi there, I've got two sets of these for sale, both are genuine BMW with 4 x LED bars. The first set comes with bulb holders and bulbs, the second set is the lenses only although all come with the LED that lights up the four light bars (it's fixed in the lenses). Both sets are in great condition with no cracks or other damage. First set w/lenses, bulb holders, bulbs, gasket and LED: $250 ono Second set w/lenses, gasket and LED, no bulb holders: $150 ono (E87 pre-LCI bulb holders do not fit in these lenses) These are regularly advertised for $250 each and BMW NZ want over $500 each. ? These are plug-and-play on any E81 or LCI E87 equipped with Xenon's, if you have a non-Xenon LCI or any pre-LCI you need a simple DIY to wire them in and activate the LED strips by following these instructions with pictures: https://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15081 and there's further description here if needed: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=730693 If you buy either set then any coding you need to set the lights up as you like them is free if you drive to my place (Ellerslie). Can ship at buyer's expense. SET #1 Set #2 All are Genuine BMW

Prices might have rebounded a bit but I'm surprised Turners is asking nearly $12k for 130k pre-LCI automatic! ? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2815091123

Front end? Harmonic balancer?
-
There's very few of those, my understanding is that white was special order ("individual") on the 3.2.
-
And that's about it! My principle reason for doing this is that I've always wanted a BBK, they look cool, I don't particularly care if they don't perform any better than stock on the street. ?
-
No, that's a 340mm rotor, stock is 330mm. Here's the equivalent for stock but "perforated" (holes I assume) rather than "slotted" which are the ones in my picture (which are actually slotted and dimpled as you can see). The small diagram on each of these pages is accurate Stock size: https://spareto.com/products/zimmermann-brake-disc/150-3428-52 Mine: https://spareto.com/products/zimmermann-brake-disc/150-2906-20

Heavy! 4 x rotors and stainless braided lines... obviously more bits yet to arrive...
-
Well, they stopped making them in 2008...
