  1. You know I knew someone was going to post this! 😆 At least we didn’t have someone breathlessly post “IT’S NOT A REAL M3!” - it’s made by BMW and is has the M3 badge…
  2. I remember rubbishing the price on the 49K one but they do seem to be going up in value in the US. However, you would always expect that to be higher value with LHD and a bigger market. I guess this is a similar one but with less miles and via a dealer: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-BMW-M3-/174992209502?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 Then a couple of others which are more to this price range: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-BMW-M3-/165149103719?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-BMW-M3-M3-/203696603097?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
  3. Wow, 35k on the window sticker…. How long ago was that?!
  4. And the seller also has a B5 for sale, nice 👍🏻 Yellow is also my pick. And lol at the peanut gallery turning up on Trademe questions “it’s a 10-12k car at most” give me strength… what can you buy for 10-12K in an E31 anymore?!
  5. I wouldn’t go for anything which has had aftermarket screens added but that’s just me. They can be added properly but a lot of the time they are not and don’t integrate with the car. Additionally, a lot of the stuff out of Japan will be all in Japanese and impossible to use.
  6. I was actually a little bit disappointed they didn’t want to fly the flag with a Hyundai Genesis. Maybe that’s what’s replaced it.
  7. No iDrive is a big plus too for a car of this vintage.
  8. South Korea is moving on their 740i also: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3261148664.htm
  9. I know I shouldn’t make fun of things like this…. but I did chuckle with the number plate and radar detector cord still being in place. Looks like Dad got a bit frisky in the M6…
  10. Seems very wasteful - I guess they just crush it because the engine and other major parts will always flag in the system as being from a stolen vehicle so just easier to burn the whole thing.
  11. I remember some guy asking me in a carpark once if my 320D would “do a burnout”. I just tried not to make any sudden moves - I didn’t want to get shanked in a Westfield parking garage. He looked like he could have been the owner of this car…
  12. I think Autoglym do a glass polish.
  13. I find the design too fussy. I don’t like how car designers try to make all electric cars appear as if they are from the future. If it didn’t have the blue accents and possibly in a colour like black might look a bit better?
  14. I can just imagine someone who bought this new in 1994 with PARKING SENSORS fitted. Brick phone, second dedicated line for a fax machine in his house, dialup modem, Walkman and a 10CD hifi setup. Total baller.
  15. Can’t see all of the drivers seat but it looks to be in really good condition - supporting long drives (less climbing in and out).

Kidney grilles are now lung grilles.
  17. I’ll ask the silly question - don’t you just dial in to what the software tells you the car should be? Or is there a lot more to it than that? I’ve had my F30 done at Auckland City BMW and it seemed fine…. To be at least which is probably not a good test!

Love to know what they paid out on the trade... I often wonder if a dealer trades cars like this for a lot less than the price we see here (obviously). They stick it up for $49K to see if anyone bites and wants to negotiate. If they don’t shift it within a few months, they push it off to another dealer or auction and still pick up their trade and a bit of margin.
  20. Audi needs more brown! 😆 Man, that interior is an acquired taste. If people are talking big saloon cars, the XJ with the 5L would have to be there and the S63...
  21. Glad I’m not the only one who was thinking this... you could pick up an early 2000s 911 for that money (996) - the headlights are not to everyone’s taste but they are great cars. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/porsche/auction-3045857080.htm
  22. It’s not obvious to you when you have two bald rear tyres on a car with that much torque? They should tell you, yes. But come on... you should also know.
  23. Given your budget surely you’d want to look at Audi wagons from the same year(s) - Honestly, I have no idea about Audi vs BMW reliability but you seem to get a lot more car for the dollar. You could probably even get a diesel, or you are close to F11 5 series if you want to compromise on the mileage.
  24. That’s a bloody big price difference isn’t it for a sheet of JIB vs ply.... good idea putting a bit of pine across for tools.
  25. Yup - have that in my plan at least, I use screws for just about everything given the cost these days. Means you can also remove whatever you’re putting up to access services in future 👍🏻
