Yes same applies, all the m5x engines have basically the same blocks, so the mounts, sump and gearbox options are the same as m50/m52. M54 gets harder with a more complicated ECU, wiring and things like electronic throttle. There are many ways around it (OBD1 swap). Good luck

This basically covers off everything you need. http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Engine_Swap_-_M5x

You need a E34 M50 sump and oil pick, Not M20.
-
Don't worry don't need one now doing something else.
-
I used this when I had an m52 with 240 gearbox /m20 flywheel, http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/clutches/auction-917971060.htm Uses a Sachs pressure plate. Can't remember what the clutch disc was. Pedal is slightly harder than stock but it's a real good clutch. Took about 1000-1500kms to wear in though, used to make the car shudder when disengaging the clutch in 1st or when trying to reverse, so you need to drive it nicely for a while.

I have a M50b25 one if needed and local. You can tell the difference by looking at the gaps between runners, the square holes should fit directly between each runner, if there is some gap between then it's the thinner 2.0 runners. Check ID photos here; http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/M5x_Inlet

Looking for a brake booster for a 2002Tii Help

That touring will have far more rust than just surface rust. There is no such thing as surface rust with an e30 these days, especially spots 1,2 and 3 they are very common spots to rust right through. If you can see it on the surface it's too late. If you plan on looking at it, check under the battery tray, and down the firewall under the tray. I'm guessing it has spent alot of it's life outside. Also "second hand tyres"... shows how well and how willing the owner is for maintanence.

The Nzd to USD at the moment. Bloody hell!

Anyone have a shift rod and carrier for a E36 M3 Evo? Trying to avoid buying new.
-
Looks like someone has added it all on. Bumper trims have been painted red and the eyelids are aftermarket. *Edit* Oh wait I forget, Bumpers are normallly black. They have been painted red, including the rubber trims. Keep thinking bumpers are colour matched from factory, but that's just SE's.

So timing marks line up, Engine turns over, I doubt it's a valve to piston. Was the engine a runner before you put it in? Who did you take it to anyway?
-
I did ask earlier, Did you try to turn it over using a wrench on the front to see if it was stuck?
-
I don't get why you need the kit in the first place. I ran the m50 manifold, m50 TB, e36 Intake boot with 2 bungs, One I fit the IAT sensor into and the other one I fitted the m50 ICV lines but used the m52 ICV. Put a T into it with a tube for the Crank case.
-
Interesting. Which year / model?
-
I was running a one way valve from an m50 when I fitted to my m52. Idea is it keeps the brake booster under vacuum when car is off. Mash the pedal a few times and you lose the pressure anyway
-
Nah your probably going to change the angle by like 2 degrees.. No biggy. That is strange though, Mounts look in pretty good shape.
-
How about a picture of your engine mounts? They must be farked
-
What e30 is this and with what motor?
-
Just double checked mine, That plastic sleeve makes it look deceivingly longer when it's taken off. Not sure what is up with that though, I had ample room for mine even with M52 headers which sit alot closer than e30 ones. Weird.
-
Oh right. Still looks way too long compared to ones I have seen. I had one 2 months ago wasn't that long, it did have the black plastic cap over it too but it's very similar in size to the e30 one if you have it to compare
