Power steering or manual?
-
If you keep an eye out you'll likely find a manual E36 fairly cheap. I got mine for a steal, although it needed work it hasn't cost me bugger all in total. Its all just a waiting game.

My E39 fits in that bracket. Although article mentions replacement/refitted bags shipped to the US? Assume this means the factory fitted bags are OK?

E39: New RD center caps ordered and wheels painted...BMW titansilver, turned out pretty sweet! E30: Bolted up manual steering rack and installed new tie rod ends. Still need to sort the passenger boot, can't see how it goes together

Finishing filling, sanding and priming wheels for the E39. Ready for paint tomorrow. Also a much needed oil/filter change for e39. Removed steering rack and degreased + started rubbing back E30 engine bay last night too, busy busy!

Haha had to do the dragon I thought you'd be on here somewhere! I do still have the turbo Will be selling the engine/trans, Andrew (APT) wanted it like 6 months ago? You interested too? The goal is to have the engine in and running by the end of the month! Then I'll tidy up the rest of the car, I've been hoarding parts for years: Plenty of rare bits and some nice wheels that I need to paint and reassemble too.

5+ years later, an Update!! Last year I managed to pick up a mostly complete M30 conversion package from another E30 enthusiast. After having much difficulty getting engine management sorted few years earlier, I sold on the b28 and turbo gear. M30B35 I picked up was in pieces so decided the refresh as much budget allowed. I kept the bottom end together, cleaned up the sump, block and had the head checked over. New gaskets, seals and headbolts. New water pump, thermostat…etc Couple pictures: Removed M20b25 and trans from car over the weekend, relatively painless process. Left the loom intact for now, but will likely remove as the wiring was pillaged during my megasquirt episode. Unfortunately hoist tipped and damaged drivers guard - after removing the engine without issue! Cracking into cleaning and removing anything unnecessary from the engine bay and prepping for respray this weekend. Also ditching the power steering in favor of a manual rack, didn’t mind it in my old M325i so happy to do this now. More updates to come!

Picked up some RD2's for my E39 for an absolute steal. Practically new Firestone TZ700 tyres to boot. Curbing isn't as bad as I initially thought, mainly paint rubbed off rather than rim damage.

Looking at the Nav harness for my e39 to decide whether an aux cable or digital receiver install is possible and I run across this? Any ideas? This has been passed trough a few members possession now so hopefully someone knows what this could've been done for? Cheers, Lucan

Might have some smilies not incl bracket, in storage if your still looking? Would need to be careful pulling out old part is all.
-
Replaced the arm rest on the E39 with a leather non-phone type. Thanks Zebra - only $10!
-
Relisted by same or new owner/seller? Do these sport an M30 or something more significant?
-
Rear shocks are easy, shouldn't need spring compressors? I've never used them anyway. Undo top bolts, jack under hub, remove lower bolt, replace shock.

Bare in mind that the parcel shelf is structural and modifying can be a PITA

Running? Where's you source the the driveshaft hoops?
