Could be a bunch of things wrong with it, from a stuck tappet to a blown rod end. Sounds like it popped when doing skids... I dunno if id bother when you can get working looked after e90 325s for peanuts.

Its odd how BMW did so many different intake versions for making different noises, 330 has nothing, 130 has a little diaphragm and tuned snorkle that isnt plumbed into anywhere, and Z3 they plumbed it into cabin. Ive never heard a Z3.0 n52 in full angry mode, but the 130 certainly makes more a howl stock than 330 does.

CCV thing at back of engine, catches fire Its weird the kiwi cars havent been effected by any of these recalls Im not to sure if mine had the cam ledge seal one or was past that point in production.

Id argue the Pre-LCI has the better engine marginally, less plastic. LCI had better interior.... but honestly its not worth picking one car over another on either. Straight car thats been looked after is what to look for, and with the correct gearbox ( ) everything else is trivial (including km) Some people like iDrive etc, I think its clunky and dates car etc etc etc. A straight looked after car is what really matters!

Way less rattley than a WRX, doesnt have the same big turbo torque lump in middle of rev range, but otherwise heaps of fun. Stuff breaks, same as any other car, if you can swing a spanner and are happy to order parts online they are not expense to own or maintain though, and are otherwise very reliable. The things that sneak up on 130s this vintage, if hasnt been maintained well, is oil leaks. Id get someone who knows what they are looking at (not AA etc!) to have a poke around and under it before handing cash over, if the sump gasket is pouring oil out for instance its about an 8 hour job to fix (and makes a good bargaining argument)

^ Reluctor faults do seem to be a UK thing, along with seized calipers, the underside of their cars look like the innards of shipwrecks.

Heya, my mums 2007 Mini R56 cooper S has popped its heater core in Whakatane (She is in Tauranga). As far as I know, thats the only damage other than wet carpets. Local garage has told her its 5 weeks wait for parts and $1800 to fix... parts supplied by BMW NZ extortion services. FCP Euro/Turners have cores in stock from $50-200USD, couple of days via fedex. Does anyone know a suitably not rubbish mechanic down there who can swap a heatercore in? Ideally someone with BMW/Mini experience.

Thats had an LCI lower dash swap like mine, dont recognise the headunit. Could be an android like mine, or just a generic double DIN in suitable fascia.

This is what you need + the little arm for the headlight levelling sensor (cant remember p/n sorry) it'll be on realoem as M3 part. Hollah if you cant find it and Ill dig it up. Just normal spanners/rathcets etc to bolt on

Ive played with some of the expensive/exotic stuff.... $200 a jar wax nonsense... and honestly... save your money The low/mid range stuff is as good. Some of the Turtle wax cheap stuff is properly legit too, their spray ceramic wax stuff beads for ageeees and look good on ya average daily. The meguiars spray on hose off thing works ok on white cars, but leaves weird streaks on black cars. Cleaned the 130 in the weekend, and tried the turtle wax ceramic spray for black cars, and other than having to do 2 coats as it doesn't want to go on very evenly.. its properly gleaming at the moment. If paste wax's (in this case they perform like legit Si02 stuff) are your thing, the Soft99 King of Gloss and Fusso coat are realllly legit, and not expensive (there is an NZ supplier now). All the soft99 stuff is legit - https://www.oakey.co.nz/car-waxes-ceramic-coats . Ill put Fusso back on the cars for winter.

Hunt down the TRW part numbers for the M3 LCAs and look it up on amazon. They're cheap.
