Fixed it for you I agree though, N52 isnt in the same class, it wasn't designed for boost but to be very very very light, everything about an N52 is about adding lightness. Anything more than about 6psi seems to make for very short, albeit fun, life spans. The only reliable boosted N52 Ive seen is a 130 in singapore that does something like 280hp to the wheels with a centrifugal blower.. he had heaps of tuning issues but its went for years before a rebuild at 200,000+km (rings failed, bores still mint)

Anyone had any experience with these? They're quite sharply priced. https://www.blaupunkt.com/ase/nc/productos/car-multimedia/speaker/products/single/16613/ https://www.blaupunkt.com/ase/nc/productos/car-multimedia/speaker/products/single/16611/

That and the generation that grew up idolising them as kids now have cash to get them. 80s kids lust after 80s cars, its the circle of life.
-
Was replying to Dave, it wont have any serials.

Yup, so does mine, ACS also "make" whole cars. In the 1 series case its an ACS1 (essentially gets all the ACS parts bolted to them). But, none of them were 130s.
-
None of the ACS1s were 130s, the were all diesels as ACS did some tunes. Not even clear if they ever sold any of them, other than as parts.

Really low ks, nz new, intake worth a crap load if you flicked it on, mine was at 140,000 when I bought it for 13k I hope he gets 13, the market need correcting hahaha

One odd 1 serues fuel filler factoid for you, when the lanyard snaps, if you order the BMW part it comes with the cap for a couple of thousand rupee, but if you get the mini part (which is identical) you can order the lanyard as a separate piece for like $7...

Something freaky is going on, another of the 13 NZ new manuals up for sale - https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2538196754.htm?rsqid=e2d28c7a98a04166b565690687204761-003

GM are no longer going make RHD vehicles, so maybe HSV will start doing RHD conversions?

Despite the excessive trolling, this seems to have concluded amicably, with no rage quitting. The internet must be broken.

Wards 10 best engines - Reputable folks, no agenda , no matter how jaded the forum poster.

Saw it expired... Im guessing it sold, it was silly cheap and looked legit (and unique as the only red nz new manual). Hopefully it gets looked after.
-
Its simple, N52s are for the BMW purists, N54s are for the german RFB fam.

Ahhhh, go get a walnut blast http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel1325-1329.htm

Somethings odd there, A 130 is as fast, or faster, than an R32 golf on a racetrack, topgear and 5th gear both had shoot outs. Probably not in a drag race but the R32 was 130s direct competitor after all.
-
Sharkfin antennas are tacky, so over done, every 1993 golf has one, and now it just looks like everyone with a 7 series tarted their car up on ebay... throw some fake chrome shark grills on the doors/front wings and your at full stage 2 ebay tune. The long antenna is where its at. Radio controlled cars are class.

Blacktops came out around 2007, have plastic rocker cover Vs the magnesium one on silver tops. Black tops CCV system is built into the rocker cover, and most of the time requires replacing the whole rocker cover (they also crack). Silver tops the CCV system is external, and available as smaller parts to replace, and the rocker covers corrode . Internally the engines are identical, other than the blacktops will all have the cam ledge seal fix done, whereas some of the very early silver tops wont have. There is some conjecture around blacktops outputting slightly less power, but the standard for measuring changed at same time too, so who knows.

Interesting one, https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/specialist-cars/competition-cars/auction-2532205397.htm One of the 13 nz new manuals, might be the first?, and a non msport 130... absolute poverty spec (like it was always going to be a racecar?)

272000km oil change (do them every 7000km) and BMW brake pad paste on the front sway bushings (as per Kevin Birds recommendation)
