yucky job i think you can see once you remove the glovebox. better site for cross referencing parts etc http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E34/Tour...r_conditioning/ i have most of the heater core types if you need one. maybe even new ones??

maybe be newer but its the cheaper down spec'd option. they dont work as well at down shifts etc. a lot less fun to drive with.

why would you want to despec teh car by doing that the eh type is upspeced thing and they work much better at changing gears than the basic low spec kick down cable type of trans . why do you think all the newer bmw's use a sports ,ecno ,manual switch on there trans. , but yes you could fit one of the older basic type ones in there , just as long as you get the kick down cable and brackets etc to hook upto the throttle body etc

check you have fuel coming out at the fuel line take one of hoses off and crank it. mayeb your ecu has died ( water got in ) also check the 2 realys in teh ecu box they often fail , swap them out for some others

could be a sticky lifter or 2 , do you change the oil regulary or did the past owners do so?? try some lifter cleaner in a bottle add to the oil, oil flush etc .

ecu engine temp sensor faulty or the plug has bad conections etc blue plug on top of thermostat housing. bad afm?? very worn dizzy and rotor (weak spark) also faulty thermostat , stuck open ,so the engine wont heat up quickly what does the temp gauge sit at?? and does it come upto half way within 5-10mins etc

could just be wear in the all the gearlever bushes etc , or a failing gearbox selector fork inside the box etc

check bulbs , also the brake switch often fail , have some if needed

yes they mades manuals , but most where sold as auto's. yes nice car for long trips etc. you should buy my e28 m535i with m5 engine fitted to it

yes some of the later e38 728i 730i 735i etc came with 4 pot piston brembo calipers. marty (bm weapon ) may still have some http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....8&hl=brembo maybe you could fit the hub carrier from e38 to a e39 strut?? may work ?? might have to be v8 e39 type though??

the bolts for the caliper carrier are different lengths apart

used to work at a wreckers and we did vw and audi etc used to sell every vw and audi trans we could get our hands on. we had a full time trans guy rebuilding and fixing them all too. common to fail , small and not built very strong. and know one services them some times is was the electrics that was at fault , but mostly they where all worn out etc
