Swapped out the 4 spoke truck steering wheel for a nice 3 spoke m sport wheel.

I must say, I am partial to the BMW V8. Its a lovely piece of kit that makes me smile on the inside. Every time. There is another in my future sometime, but I'd really like it to be a keeper (and Manual) so, not yet. The 528 is a great car, with enough power for most people.... however for the last 5 years or so, i've been driving 200kw+ jap turbos, and 200kw+ Bmw V8's - So whilst i find the 528 nicely balanced, with nice steering feel; It really is just a bit lacking when you stick your knee up it.

In all fairness, somewhat overpriced, bit would make a good skid car...

The 530 is a better steer due to its rack and pinion vs the 540 recirc ball setup. In saying that, the v8 is awesome and blows the sixes away. Especially when fitted with a healthy set of pipes. They like a good drink in traffic, but are better on the open road than the smaller sixes.

Hey Damian, Where did you get the tools for the vanos seal job on your e39? My 528 desperately needs doing and i dont really want to buy tools or pay someone to do it for me! heh. I've seen people use a bar and modified C clamps as a DIY cam locking tool, however am interested in what you did. PS. Cant send you a PM?

Excessive whine will either indicate failed turbo bearings or damaged vanes. Both of these cad cause the vanes to rub on the cold side housing causing the whine. However, If there's whooshing with it, I'd suspect normal turbo whine, with one of the intercooler hoses failing under boost. I've had this before in a Subaru. It would also account for bov sound as your car should have a bypass valve (plumbed back bov) from the factory.
