That's basically my point. I really doubt that a car with these kind of nasty dents and damages will actually be a "mint runner" but that's speculation and assumptions. I think it's not worth it even if it was in good mechanical condition because those aesthetic flaws will cost you a fair amount. I would rather find one that's mint looking, then spend money and work on the engine then swap trans for a manual rather than "hope" it's mint and spend money on panel beating and paint to later find that the engine is buggered. Hope I'm making sense using a phone to type can't be bothered to check what I wrote

I bought a 1995 or 1996 318ti a while back. Straight body and mint interior kms were around 130 something ish Paid less than 1500. Agree with others. There are better examples on the market for similar money. I would keep looking. This one has cracked front bumper dented rear guard, wheels don't look great IMO and red is prone to fading more so than other colours I reckon.

I guess it would look something like this on an e36!

dont have anything helpful to say but ill say it anyway. when i used to have my old e46 328ci it used to have the old 3:4 tv screen and i found a guy on trademe who did tv and radio work on bmws. contacted him and paid him like $50 to recode the tv to work while driving. in hindsight it was probably a very stupid thing because one night i was watching the simpsons and nearly rear ended someone going 10kmh... but anyways my point is that it can be done. not sure about the whole digital/analogue thing tho..

must be a huge relief, now to go through the whole process again but with proper hands doing the work! congratulations

Exactly. And tbh I think your car looks great and although not an m5, I can see you are enjoying it a heap more than the old 528. So it's all good as it is for now.

Smart choice. Haha totally against what I said before but deep in your heart you know you want that supercharger kit. Hahaha but yea. Smart and sensible choice.
