  1. That's pretty much what mine has now, and then a very poorly blocked off vacuum line from the throttle body. I'm going to fit a CC anyway and we'll see if it makes a difference. Traced the fuel smell to a fairly large leak from one of the hoses on the fuel rail, a tighten of the hose clamp fixed that
  2. It is NZ new, but it has the lines for one and the plug in the loom for the valve. The vacuum line is very poorly capped with tape and some fabric, and the fuel vent line is venting to atmosphere. Out of interest, do you know how they run the fuel tank vent without the Carbon canister/purge valve setup? Just venting to atmosphere somewhere near the back of the car?
  3. Need an m40 carbon canister for my e30 (and possibly the line from the cc to the throttle body). Not sure if other e30 canisters fit, but it's the one with a fuel line, a vacuum line, and a rectangular plug coming out of it. Also looking for, but less urgently: -FL front lip (preferably not stupidly expensive) -2x window winder handles Edit: the plug goes into the valve in the vacuum line not the cc itself
  4. Thanks for the reminder. Will look up the parts diagrams now and find out where that vacuum line goes Edit: found it. Missing He carbon canister so that vacuum line and the fuel vent line both vent to atmosphere in the engine bay... Anyone have a carbon canister for sale?
  5. Getting back into e30 life.
  6. Nope sorry, weinrot. Well the paint that's left is haha
  7. Ended up with another one in the drive. Thanks to Sam for the help getting it home. It's red and it's an e30
  8. Yup I am. Might have to settle for a newer defender one day. I'd prefer a v8 anyway
  9. Yeah, I got realistic about it. There is no way it was ever going back on the road, so I sold it to a guy who had a good body and wanted the running gear. I did get it driving, and to be honest it was terrible to drive. I think i'll stick with such luxuries as power steering, and more importantly synchromesh gearboxes.

    Insurance

With state for contents. Westpac for home insurance. Westpac had very good premiums but the excess is so high I would only claim for serious issues. Eg a broken window it's cheaper not to claim.

    Quick rant thread.

Day 5 with no internet. I have discovered CDs and actual radio. And books. I am beginning to learn things. It scares me.

    Quick rant thread.

Moved house Friday. Arranged with Vodafone a month ago to sort the connection out, was told a technician would come Friday. Still haven't got an answer as to when I will have internet. Slowly dying.
  14. Not quite. But I'd give it a go if I did have one . Just seems a waste to use the truck to tow small stuff all the time.
  15. As per title. I believe the compact towbar is specific to the compact so coupe/sedan won't fit. Prefer lower north island/manawatu

Yeah, definitely come along if you can manage it!
  17. Definitely go for the intermarque sprints this year. Follow some similar cars, learn some lines. I had an old dig passenger in my car first time out and teach me basic lines etc, was awesome.
  18. Having a 6kw heat pump in my bedroom on these hot summer nights.
  19. Autocar nz has made a statement saying that in their opinion all vehicles ever made are collectable.
  20. Plus the bigger companies are involved in the extraction of the crude oil, so have another profit margin within the crude price as well

Good work! I haven't done any aerobatics, even just spin awareness freaked me haha. Is she planning to go all the way through to CPL?
  23. Haha sorry man figured you would've seen the post. Will remember to keep you posted next time.
  24. Ahh, sorry my memory has me fooled. It was the WoF inspector commenting on how spare tyres have to be secured if the seats fold down, but sub boxes don't and how silly it was. I never secured it decently in my Subaru but stopped it sliding with some measly brackets. With that in mind, Velcro is quite a good idea actually. Will keep in mind when I eventually get a new sub.
