Oil change! Some fresh valvoline synpower 5w40 fully synthetic oil. After a walk back to the store to swap the oil filter for the right one!

Those would be good for cars that are ummm rather low!

Except the series pits the 2.0s against the 1.8s. The 2.5 is significantly quicker again, and there is no way a 1.8 will ever come close. In saying that, I'm intending to build a track car with an m42, because little four bangers can be a hoot!

Bump! Still looking. Seems prices have gone up just cos I want one haha

Having to de-ice my car every morning before work. Need a bigger garage!!

Installed new boot latch off the parts car. Now the boot opens and closes normally instead of requiring excessive force to open.

And a lot of drivers don't look at their speed etc anyway, hence the slamming of brakes when they see a policecar or speed camera.

I also "might" have a copy of NFS II but not the SE, at home in Porirua. I definitely have Porsche 2000 somewhere

They have climbed in value massively in the past 2-3 years it seems!

I don't know where you got that from haha, Jon is a very well respected member, and I'd imagine he is closer to 26 years experience with BMWs than he is to being a "baby".

Bump! Somebody must know someone with one rotting away in their shed...
-
Lucky escape haha. Bet you panicked when you saw it.

Trying to avoid the hassle of engine swaps. Both cars are currently m43s... Not really track material haha.

So I've abandoned the thought of fixing my sedan as a track car, after buying a 316ti for a daily driver. I'm now on the hunt for a cheap, running 318ti. Not too fussed on interior, exterior, or being road legal. Important points: - Running m44 or m42 - Straightish body, front panel damage is fine as I have the front from my sedan - Blown auto is primo, I have a manual conversion - Under $1k if close to manawatu, but really the cheaper the better! Will travel for a well priced example. I missed out on one last week when it was withdrawn with the reserve met so any other options would be greatly appreciated:D Cheers, Paul

I'm sure it's been said before but.... Weekends!!!!

Defence health system is even better haha. No wait, no cost...

The compact is my new daily haha. Downgraded from the falcon so I can upgrade my kitchen. Damn grown up responsibility.
-
Possibly, but can I find one for what I can sell this broken car for? You raise a valid point though, perhaps an m44 ti would be a better option, keeping with my goal of staying under 2l

I don't have the donor car... I'll be buying all the bits off it. Stock non msport sedan is all I need for the track, and it's not going to be road legal, so cert etc isn't an issue.

Progress! Sort of. I have sourced a manual conversion apparently out of a 318ti. I also blew the head gasket. I guess it's m50 time? So anyone able to clue me up on what I'm going to need from a donor car to make an m50 run in my 318i with the manual conversion from the fi? Obviously engine, loom, dme, matching key etc, but what else? Do I use the rear half of the 320i driveshaft with the front half of the ti? And need to change or get a new shifter arm? Hoping for some expertise so the swap goes smoothly, although I have my own garage and engine crane so if it takes a few weeks then no big deal. Oh and lastly, any recommendations on parts to change while the motor and box are out? Cheers Paul

Night shift. First time, hopefully last time. 12hr shifts are gay enough during the day haha
-
Haha glad you didn't then! I kinda needed a running car haha. Now just need to get a new motor for the other one so I can put the other manual box in it
-
Might be some escape clause about genuine mistakes?
-
Yup, I put a bid in the weekend my head gasket blew, and nobody beat it in the 1.5 weeks since. $1201 316ti with stuffed paint haha.

It is a legally binding sale.
