  1. vj was (and his brother i think Beau or bo ) were at page when i first went there, years ago i think they had bought the business from Mike Page.I have nothing but good experience with them. They did most of the servicing and other work on my E34 including redoing the headgasket and everything else associated with it.That cost a small fortune but its still going very well today.
  2. I guess so,and people were much less informed,i bet they had a different view, before than after.but all that had gone before seemed forgotten

    And now the news...

    dirty smelly water to boot
  4. make sure the radio antennae is properly connected to the radio and the antannae itself has a amplifier too.The ariel is an array in the back window. My e34 had very good radio reception which in wellington is not always straightforward.I would imagine an e39 would be at least as good
  5. my dad was in ww2,in fact met my mum in the UK and came back here in 1944 after being wounded. The thing that i cant understand is a generation of parents who would have been involved in WW1 would have seen their sons go of to ww2.How on earth could it happen.
  6. i think the damage makes it quite clear she drove into you.If you had been still moving at the point of impact there would be a large dent at the point of impact, not a scrape mark getting worse as it goes
  7. i have heard their is a school of thought within the powers that be that they DONT WANT drivers to be taught to drive properly, because that willlead to more speed. The focus on speed is because it is directly ,quickly ,and easily read .No interpretation or arguments are required.most other misdeameanours are less clear cut.. i now always travel with a gps and set my cruise to 102...I pass just about everyone. If i decide to pass i do so with little regrd to the speed limit. Its safer. I cannot comprehend the lack of anticipation shown by a lot of drivers.I can see an accident developing and often dont see any brake lights or reaction until the absolute last minute. Its not just holidays either .I see it every morning on sh2
  8. man those e39 m5 look good to these eyes!
  9. my dad had a 89 cressida.3 litre straight six auto,i drove it quite a lot but i didnt really appreciate how good a car it was.It would have been every bit as good as a std 535 auto imho, probably better.Bloody boring to look at though,as is your soarer.

    ping!

its worth fixing in my opinion if the rest of the car is all right.A sound manual e 28 will have attraction to some
  11. at least he has pics and a real world description
  12. No more english vs gernans then
  13. will an e36 have a toughened or laminated windscreen? Its the toughened ones which will break into hundreds of small peices.Laminated ones stay in mostly one peice
  14. are you going to get a new one put in?,get them to take the old one out???

    Anyone use Gull?

gull is variable quality i think.I beleieve they spot buy on the open market. So one batch of fuel may be different than the next. How much the quality varies i cant say.Wether or not the quality of the local fuelis better or not i cant say.But i dont feel good about putting unknown fuel into a crd.Probably pathetic on my part
  16. i didnt have any issues with the grip of the tyres on the 120,and i have never ever had issues with grip on any car or bike i have owned.May be i actually drive slowly but if i do i still drive faster than most around corners .The tyres on the 120 were not low profile(bridgestones and contis when i bought it) ,and it wasnt motorsport suspension. But the ride was awful. On a smooth road you dont notice it of course but as soon as the road is uneven or the surface is broken up it was bad.Much much worse than the 235 45 17s on motorsport suspension on the 535.The pirellis i got later were better .But i paid 400 a tyre one xmas strangely much cheaper the second time.Dubiuos .i did get a flat once, the low pressure warning came on about a kilometre before my exit on the motorway,i kept driving at about 80 ks,and stopped as soon as i could.I would say the tyre was about 20 psi.Was a slow leak. However they wouldnt repair it.looked fine.So a new tyre,so then you have uneven wear around the car, i try to buy tures in pairs. If i could choose i would not have run flats again

  18. Shelleys eh, must have been fun at times on that cramped site in Wakefeild street
  19. i think the 40 d has superseded the 35d in all bmw variants, but two turbo version in both forms
  20. they will fit but the centre bore will be slightly too big would need hubcentric rings if it is ever driven on them long term
  21. when i had the 120d pirrelli runflats were "nicer" than contis and bridgestones.Dont remember the actual models, but the bridgestones had the worst ride.
