Sooo chasing gearbox overheating issues in the 540. Ended up swapping out the gearbox after trying everything else in the gearbox cooling system. Seems one of the journals was clogged. Anyways, car now has low K engine and low K gearbox. Now has to be one of the most immaculate 540 motorsport in the country haha, Long live trouble free motoring. And again thanks to Ray for sussing this all out and having the patience to work this out with me.

Yeah I wouldnt worry too much, Credit cards / wallets are on the way out .. NFC will be main stream before long. RFID is nothing new and is used in the security sector for door swipe and other access methods. Even your BMW key uses a format of RFID. Get chummy with a dealer who has access to cross check your VIN against the BMW build database. Youll see what it came with from factory. One of the line items is Debadge the car, in which a lot of the time the dealer will put a motorsport badge on the car. My NZ optioned e39 540iA SE (motorsport bumpers/su came with an M badge and no 540i. Others cam with a 540i & M badge and others came with just 540i. Totally depends what was optioned. EG mine has 320 MODEL DESIGNATION, DELETION 337 M SPORTS PACKAGE (includes the dark coloured roof lining) 705 M SPORT SUSPENSION II 710 M LEATHER STEERING WHEEL 715 M AERODYNAMICS PACKAGE 788 M LT/ALY STYLE 65 WHEELS (which im trying to source and put back on the car) 710 M LEATHER STEERING WHEEL

e30 boots need adjusting every now and again. there are rubber stoppers on the inside of the boot you can twist (screw) in or out to help align it.

Get the timing chain guides checked after you get it scanned. Youll be looking for a Cam position out of range error.

Looking to get something similar done to replace my rear seats in the e30. Just a molded carpet mat thing. Do they manufacture these here ?

Yeah for sure! While my bumper trim is in great condition, I wouldnt mind replacing it with new. But BMW just dont make it anymore for tech1.

Careful you dont blow off the pipe inside the pilar with the airgun technique. I had this problem for a while, I used some degreaser down the drains. Broke up the dirt / muck pretty well. Mine was when I parked on a down hill. So my front drains were the problem.

Wet weather weekend stuff rules So starting to put the final touches on the car of all those little bits that have annouyed me. Will have some more interesting updates come soon but for now you have this I decided to splash out on some new OEM replacement pre-fl tail lights. Will just thank Jon the Pom for pointing me in the right direction for these. unboxing Old tail lights doing what all e30 tail lights do best and cracking. Still not bad for 26 years old. The right side had spider webbed pretty bad And the left side had the usual inner piece fall off. Its so strange that this combo always happens to every car? Removed the old lights and cleaned up the area the new sealing gaskets would sit. After messing around with the wiring and plugs which had started to loose their bite on the terminals .. here they are installed!
