  1. fixed that. Absolute bastards. They had a go at stealing my wagon about 4 weeks ago, and managed to actually steal my friends car (though we found it)
  2. haha aparently that E30 one was a kid on R3v that went quiet for ages then this surfaced. Diesel E60 skid ftw
  3. lol i would have kept the red plate surround and the badge! funny how we are all different. plenty of bolt in exhaust options out there, anywhere for a few hunderd to a few grand, depends what you want
  4. how you getting on??? Im impatient to see it all sorted
  5. Basically: 325i or M325i: likely to have better interior and options, has big brakes, axels and diff (usually LSD), needs whole drivetrain swap forward of diff 320i: not as good options, has big brakes, has small diff and axels, has linkages driveshaft flywheel etc you need, needs gearbox swap 318i or 316i: likely to have little to no options (so lightweight), has small brakes diff and axels, has the gearbox you need, but requires 320i manual facelift linkage driveshaft flywheel etc and 325iS doesnt exist in NZ, thats a USA badge for well/fully optioned 325i You need to use an M4x or M5x gearbox bacause its on the correct angle. An M20 M30 etc one will physically work, but the shifter is all on the piss. having driven a conversion with this, i dont recommend it, its awkward to drive. Some people will no doubt say otherwise what worked for them! Hope that helps
  6. the wheels on my work van we got powder coated, seem more durable than paint. if painting just make sure to put a few coats of clear. i think thats why my ones on my E34 will need to be done again at some stage.
  7. work through finding them on here if you want. Exploded diagrams, part numbers etc. www.realoem.com note that the E34 is found in the Archive section these days. I havent had a V8 E34 so cant tell you off hand
  8. lol cracking up here, i dont know why i find it funny??
  9. Pretty sure Ray is a/the distributor for them now??? I could be wrong but i think i read that here somewhere
  10. i had vogtlands in one of my E34s, was very pleased with them
  11. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....190&hl=mbl8
  12. how many KMs on the manual box? what condition is the clutch and pressure plate?
  13. I replaced the oiler bar and T piece in my M40B16 in one of my E30s, didnt make that much of a difference in my particular case. thats when i tried the MBL8 stuff. Yes it is pricey, but trust me on this, its worth it. But as jon said, check that oiler bar first, thats a free fix by cleaning it out. I used petrol to clean it, just make sure its nice and dry before putting it back in the engine. not really sure how it works to be honest. But will work on any car with hydraulic lifters. If the car is a bit ticky, reletively quiet but still annoying and/or ticking comes and goes, get this in there and it sorts it all out and stops it. not sure if its a cleaning product or what the story with it is. But swear by it now. obviously wont work on M20 etc engines, as they dont have hydraulic lifters, mechanical adjustment is required. hope this helps. Think it was Michael (antil33t) that put me onto this stuff from memory
  14. Need a calypso bootlid now, i want to delete the bootlid mounted highstop preferably as new preferably with 325i badge preferably with spoiler holes preferably with the larger toolkit liner thing if i cant get what i want, i need to get a few bits painted anyways so maybe a scratched one, or even a different colour is fine, so long as its got 325i badge and spoiler holes Thank team
  15. i dont see that working once you get a tyre on there. 17s are huge for an E30 as it is without being 9" wide. the back might work, but the front is going to scrub etc more than likely. You will need to run both a thin tyre and a low profile, i just dont see it working. but i havent tried so i could be wrong??
  16. There are a few E30s moved around that price in the past wee while As always though, its hard to predict. If a car meets everything that the buyer is looking for in a vehicle, they are going to pay a premium
  17. I used TTT engineering on the recommendation of the guy that did the cert on the V12. and then you need to have it cracktested, TTT Engineering took care of that for me, or maybe Lance dropped them off to SGS cant remember. So i would talk to the guy that is ultimately doing your cert and see who he recommends. certs are tough, so if you can use someone that your cert guy knows does good work its one less thing to potentially go wrong down the track. This experience is only on one conversion mind you. Hope that helps
  18. VTec???? ohh are they racks that go into the rails on the roof? hmm...
  19. When they do actually come up, the 525i Touring usually seem change hands between 3-4k depending on condition. The V8s more like 6-7
  20. Happy Birthday Lance! Dont work too hard!
  21. no worse than a sedan if driven the same. I was getting about 9.5L/100km out of a 525iA Touring i had at one point, only driven in suburbs of lower hutt pretty much. Keep away from a 520i, they are much worse on petrol, and avoid M20 powered ones if possible, though i dont think that engine ever came in a touring anyways
