*either was starting to think i was going cray, good another E30 dude agreeing with me! Raewyn not sure why your setup is different!?
-
you bet I do. Secretly looking for a tidy silver tech1
-
that wont matter of e30 or E36, very similar setup in terms of spring placement between them, they both dont have struts in the back. E36 supposed to handle better because more sophisticated rear suspension setup, front suspension on the other hand very similar between them E36 heavier stock, no idea what stripped out vs stripped out is. E30 is more involving and feels less heavier, amazing how a bit of extra weight neuters the whole experience. But i haven't driven either on a track yet, just my E34, so may be different there.

your talking about a facelift right? I have no idea what the setup for a prefacelift is. hmm im sure that there should be plastic bungs for want of better word that is pushed in the valance regardless of if fogs or blanks. i dont have an E30 in the drive to jog my memory sorry!
-
no, uses the same clips and screws the blanks uses, just unscrew, remove blanks, and then put new brackets in etc edit: some E30s are prewired from the factory, if not, the fogs have thier own loom that runs along the front bumper behind it, and up the left fender, and clips on somewhere, there might be a plug empty there on the wing, or it might have to go to the junction box behind glovebox, i forget now. but they are definately on thier own loom

12 is the heat of summer in Dunedin isn't it??

or someone elses money? who knows, i dont know the whole story. I wasnt going to post in here, but Ollie closed this thread a few days ago before Glenn and everyone after posted, why has it been reopened???? Im not standing up for Jack, and calling out debts and that sort of thing is okay as a final resort is okay it happens all the time (just look in the public notices of your news paper). But i dont think its appropriate for public debate on the matter?? If there is a debt of any kind, I strongly recommend the use of the Disputes Tribunal. I have been through it twice, once on each side of the room, and it always gets to the facts and is not costly at all. We are lucky to have this facility in New Zealand, so use it!

You havent seen Anchorman????? Brian, Ron, Brick and Champ respectively. Not ashamed to say one of my favourite movies haha

Possibly. I would just overhaul the whole front end if you are planning on keeping the car. My E34 failed on the front right rear one at last WOF because heavier engine ate the 525i bush. So i replaced the whole front end and what a difference it makes to the driving experience!

Has it got TRD badges???

Dont buy budget tyres. buy a set of second hand quality tyres if you can't afford/justify buying new. I have Potenza RE001s all round on my E34 Touring, they have now been replaced by the RE002. I wouldnt buy anything else now. Front ones have been on since only a few months after i purchased the car about 4 years ago, have done easily 10 or more trips to auckland and back plus all my driving around here and they are only about half worn. Rear my car eats them about a quarter into my second set on the back, camber and LSD make quick work of that even when it was a 520i but any BMW is like that on the back really.

Cheap & Easy Brake Upgrades For E30
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Not sure about the calipers disks, but some people use a 325iX booster, it has two diaphragms etc and all bolt in. And you can match that to an E32 non-hydraulic master 735i and some 740i RX7 calipers are pretty common tho, pretty sure garagistic.com have adaptor brakets for sale, along with lots of other E30 adaptor type stuff -
Yep, not sure what happened, messenger been playing up i think! Might be user error lol

dont forget the ground isn't particularly stable around this neck of the woods at the moment!
-
thanks Graham, so that covers natural stuff then? I got a quote for this car for Third party a year or so back, wasnt too much you are right. I cant easily find out on the current contents insurance, garage is attached to an apartment type complex so insurances aren't handled by individual owners, its a group buy type thing. Usually yep this exactly what i would do!

I see a lot here people saying oh damn wish i knew you were putting in an order etc... will be doing a Pelican order in the next few weeks, if anyone needs anything let me know and ill add it to the cart shouldnt be any more shipping. you can pick up or im in the CBD most days etc etc. out of wellington people, sorry, dont have space or time to repack your stuff at the moment. couldnt even tell you where my packing tape etc is ha.

Taken the car off the road for a while, one less thing to worry about while moving houses etc. It got broken into in my temporary house so i cant have it here on the front lawn, so its in a relatives garage, and i wont be using it probably till summer time. even when i find a house, i want to do some work on it. With that said, i dont want it totally uninsured. Might be a fire in the house, or another big earthquake.... you just never know. Has anyone used or know anyone with an insurance product like this at all? Or maybe another way to look at it is what do those of you with race cars use, which arent used on the road, they must be still insured against other things? With my age, driving history, and engine size etc, it will be a big saving getting it off full insurance over this time. Cheers guys!

PM me what they are worth to you. They are quite happy sitting there waiting for a car to go into so don't really have a price in mind.. MAYBE able to get them to auckland free, MAYBE

bus fares for the week $50 new engine installed $2000 in saying that, i would probably drive it anyways.

i too have swapped a medium case diff into a car that came with a small case and didnt have to change the diff. so it doesnt matter what diff you have in there, they are the same. what does (arguably) matter is 325i axels are thicker than all other E30 motors. again however, i used stock 320i axels in a M52 2.8L conversion and never broke anything. good luck! e: thier not there typo!
