  1. thought i read it was going to be a stealth build i hear mounted on an angle VL spec is in now.
  2. Would own the european fords, Mondeos, Focus etc. but the Falcon, no no. The bosses Mondeo is a fantastic car for what it is. yes FWD auto and 2L but great quality. My Moms Falcon on the other hand roughly same age and milage, and its got rattles you name it. its the 4L I6 version. That Ford Fusion, my understanding too is its going to be the next Mondeo, but i canceled my auto car supscription a few months back. Does anyone else see Aston Martin in there???
  3. i wonder what would happen putting an M52 manifold on an M50
  4. Got this scruffy but mechanically great E36 318i Manual Sedan here. VTNZ WOF, rego on exemption, but can put 3 month on it etc will tell you guys my bottom dollar, its $1200. Some more details on the trade me add here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=594894134
  5. everywhere you look it says there is an increase in power and a decrease in torque, but the decrease not usually this much, i would say its because you have an M52B25 not a B28 which is what people that usually do the mod have.
  6. Sounds like a good plan. I think some of the people here are missing the sort of car you are aiming to create. Agree with your comments on the manual conversion, yes would be better, but can also buy a lot of other things for $6k. E38 was great to watch
  7. sounds like a typo that is $3600 too short knowing BMWs prices
  8. the front half of an E34 M20 520i manual will fit, based on the logic that the 525i and 325i front halves are the same, its the rear half thats different. But Manaual E34 even harder to come by than that manual E30. edit: the E34 520i M20 may use a Getrag 260 though, im not sure. but having looked for individual manual parts in the past, people rarely split thier setups. easiest solution would be to get your one machined down. If the seller is a BMW parts guy, there is a good chance he is on here, prehaps they just sent you the wrong one by mistake? And welcome to Bimmersport by the way! unfortunate your experience so far with the BMWs aren't as good as it could be!
  9. overtaking is the thing i like most, drop it to third, plant it, and your back on your side of the road in like 5 seconds, but thats a CSi so quicker again!
  10. I think you missed the brief his missus drives the car
  11. The Dinan stuff is excellent, one of the few aftermarket companies i would trust when it comes to BMWs. I can't goa day on Bimmerfest without hearing about them. But the software is one thing, also you could do this, Michael on here showed me this a few months ago, im looking at getting it done at some stage in the future, just bigger priorities than the BMW at the moment. But like you i really have no desire to make my car manual either. edit: but just make sure the box you are buying for on their website or email is the same as yours. They will have different software between US and Euro spec, but as long as the transmission itself is the same, you should be fine.
  12. Updated OP If youd like to double check i got the order right in the OP would be good too. Still some addresses and payments to come through, Im aware some of you have done today and will go in overnight so thats fine. If its not listed on the OP then i havent seen it yet, goes for addresses too If anyone else wants to get in on this, its not too late as long as you get order and payment to me tonight. Andy
  13. Its Tom This guy http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showuser=15
  14. I will be putting the order this coming friday. They will be on your doorstep by the 5th June at the absolute latest, but more than likely several days before that.
  15. thats a possibility but would require certification. from memory, to get a cert with spacers they must be bolt on type, must be hub centric, and must not alter stud count. but information on that will be on the LVVTA website, its too early in the morning for me to search for you, but you should find it
  16. Hi, nope dont do that type, these are the ones with the stars on the left hand side and a silver fern on the right hand side. You could PM Jack i think his name on here is YoungJack, he made some stickers up at one stage
  17. 0-100 in 4.5 seconds in a ten year old car? i could get used to that
  18. this has been discussed before so something should come up in a search. but the key notes are, are they scalloped or flat backed? if scalloped, very hard to do correctly, and probably not legal in NZ anyways. if they are flat then should be okay, but you can't change from a 5 stud pattern to a 4 stud pattern without a lot of work. basically... find wheels that fit where possible

    Darin's 36

those breytons will look good when fitted, something a bit different.
  20. All that work and still got Repco gauges. secretly just wanted to find something bad about it so i don't feel too bad about it not being mine
  21. Updated E: if anyone here is mates with Ricky (frashn88) outside bimmersport can you give him a text about this buy, dont think he comes on here much. have sent him a PM. Cheers
  22. sounds good, you will have to take it to a non-euro specialist mechanic, they hopefully won't notice its been engine converted! because have to have a cert to get WOF. Might have to swap cars for a turn at some stage a huge fan of this shape, came very close to buying a red one a few years back
