  1. I have speed bumps around my house never bothered me much but my new turbo diesel transit doesn't like them as its off boost in third or revving too much to do them in second. Annoying every morning and every night. Still. Too much traffic the other way so I live with it
  2. Demonstrator on dealer plates? From memory my cabby was built almost two years before it was registered
  3. So new parts could be faulty? Compression is good but I know it's not strictly the correct method to check blow by as a possibility
  4. Wasn't really sure what to title this thread! Seems to be excessively high air pressure in the head 1/ has blown out the old rocker cover seal end of last year 2/ then it cracked the old rocker cover down in the coil valley so replaced with a new one 3/ then a one of the o rings started leaking, 4/ now cracked the cover in a different place. Can't help but wonder if the hole in the intake manifold it had when I brought the car is also related???? Or maybe just coincedence. When you take the oil cap off after a drive it makes the sound like you are opening a bottle of coke with air rushing out I replaced the PCV system using OEM parts before finding the hole in the intake, which I had someone else swap over, possibly this hasn't been put back together properly?? Any other ideas?
  5. Bump just wanna keep this up the top of the thread pile while there is a chance for someone!
  6. Inclined to agree, the LS engines make a lot of sence if you can get over the fact it's s non BMW engine up front. Big HP, simple, there is a reason it's one of the worlds most popular engines for tuning
  7. can't remember, i sold the interior, probably on the side of the seat like E32/E34
  8. yes E36 had electric memory seats, my 328i parts car had it
  9. Hi guys, some of you know i travel all over the north island already, always ex-WGTN with an empty van. Have just started selling my services in Christchurch, and got confirmation today so will be heading there in two weeks (14-17) Taking a pretty well empty van down so if anyone has something bulky to get across the cook straight let me know. Moving forward, certainly won't be as regular as my WGTN-AKL runs or elsewhere in North island as not an ongoing contract, but keep it in mind, may have signed something by the time you need something shifted!
  10. could be right, but weight so close to the center of the hub, wouldnt thing it would matter, pretty sure they wegiht has exponentially more effect as it gets further from the hub, and 10g at 8" out (on a 16" wheel) but not at half an inch??
  11. yeah wait for the trucks to pack it all in lol
  12. You answered your own question. They cannot close the road.
  13. They have done even more reselling over night so it's even longer now
  14. do you have an account? many forums don't let you see their stuff unless you are a member, even bimmersport which lets you see some subforums but not all of them.
  15. John is probably right, those of you that drive from the city to porirua would have seen it south bound between november and december last year.
  16. typically i favour privatisation over government doing everything, in theory private companies can do it cheaper while making a profit. The problem arises because there is no accountability between the job completion and the government, the the contractors do a half assed job, paid in full and then they are back there in a year. NZTA is a small organisation by comparison. The exception is the big projects, transmission gully, waikato expressway, rimutaka hill road, they are all completed to a high standard as they are big enough to have an NZTA rep assigned to them to oversee it
  17. Metric. I have two of them, they are currently a great pedestal for my rain water tank off the garage.
  18. Saw that today and it's down to 30kmh over night tonight
  19. And yet the government (NZTA) still pays there invoices. Clearly there is no check anywhere in New Zealand between the work being "completed" and the invoice being signed off for payment.
  20. We ban people to keep it from becoming a festering sh*t hole.
  21. can you bring your 855 next time please Olaf? maybe to a euro meet instead of a BMW meet..... you may know i have a soft spot for quick Volvo wagons
  22. trade two tin cans for some space???
  23. RE050 i think is the one in the range down from RE00x series? my Cabby is going to get a bit of a birthday over winter on some things, will be looking at a set of the RE003s for it i think
