take no notice of what it looks like on the diagram, just a image they use for everything. plug the part number into google image search for more accurate pics might just be the resistor pack if it has one. try bypassing it and turn the AC on.

dont try cutting and jumping wires etc, youll just end up blowing up modules etc. all its needs is 10 minutes with a scanner assuming all the parts have not failed. bear in mind that the E36 is known for leaking around the windscreen if the plastic trim is damaged, it is not uncommon that water gets into the ECU/DME especially on manual cars that do not have a trans computer for the water to seep thru first!

Where do people buy their tyres? (Wellington)
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to Blackie's topic in Wheels & Tyres
maybe on price, but thats because their service is sh*t so they can afford it. Bridgestone are more expencive sure. but unless you want to take your own torque wrench, you want to tell them where to jack the car up etc, then keep well clear of all the Tonys branches. litterally the bunnings of tyres. Citation: i used to be a regular there for the work fleet and my own stuff. I only ever use Bridgetone Wainui now, i appreciate that might be a bit far for you, but i like to take cars to actual enthusiests that treat the car the way you would. Sounds like Bridgestone in the city is the same experience based on what Richard says -
good to catch up etc mate also, in regards to the people anti fenix above. interestingly one of them used to be an agent for them and at the time of selling it to me said there was nothing wrong with them. whats changed, a bad breakup with an employer perhaps ? anyways, the one in my coupe has seen heaps of abuse, 10 or 12 track days now, plus many drives locally to the pub or whatever, club days, hawkes bay and back taupo and back, every time at manfeild is driven up etc, and has never missed a beat, doesnt drop a single drop. so there you go.

wont bother with specs in the front, if its rubbing then you have done something very wrong/silly the most important cosideration, even more than specs of the wheel itself, is what gaurds are on your car. rear is a bit trickier on a facelift car, and also the prefacelift cabby, as they have much lower rear arches. on the prefacelift non cabby there is plenty of room to do whatever you want. so what one prefacelift owner says fits sweet no rubbing at all will destroy gaurds if fitted to a facelift car. Both of my cars, and indeed all E30s that i have bothered playing around with wheels on have been facelift. now thats out the way.....: my cabby is 16x9et15 (borbet type A) with 215/45R16 tyres, and it rubs , my gaurds are not rolled at all, apart from some movement probably inevitable when it has touched now and again. a 205 might be better, but the 215 already has quite a bit of stretch on a 9 inch. my coupe is 17x8et20 (E39 Style 32s) with 215/45R17 (yes slightly bigger tyre than both OE and the cabby), and again rubs in the back, a bit less than the cabby. if i put the race wheels on which has the same specs but is et30 or so, there is plenty of room. enter this data into the calculator linked below, and scroll down and see the graphic. overlay your wheel, and play around with tyre sizes (the only variable). bear in mind, the calculator will allow you to do tyre sizes that dont exist, are cost prohibitive, or illegal eg you can fit a 145 tyre onto a 9 inch rim in that system ha. also you need to compare whatever you come up with to the OE tyres of 205 65 14, and check the circumfrence is within 5% of that, if possible, go slightly smaller, as your speedo is out from factory. https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=215&aspect=45&diameter=16&wheelwidth=9&offset=15&width2=215&aspect2=45&wheel_size=17&wheel_width=8&offset2=20

225 should be fun in the back, pretty difficult to successfully pull off in the back.
-
i have Eibach coupe springs and Bilstein sport shocks in my cabby, gives a nice height. i am running a 9" wheel in the back with a 215 tyre. they just kiss the gaurds if i have the boot loaded up with stuff, a full tank of gas and i go over a bump otherwise its fine, the shocks could probably do with a refresh as they are pretty old, i would say it wouldnt do it if the shocks were new.

avoiding paying tax is illegal for everyone, including the wealthy. and bear in mind that over 40% of working kiwis recieve more from the state than they pay into it, whether it is working for families, accomodation suppliments, acc, a free education and health system and so forth. the number is far higher when you then look at people over thier life time from birth to death. Im not saying for one second that the poor have it good, but its the wealthy that are the only net taxpayers

getting off topic, but since it was brought up, I dont know why there is this continued delusion that services are underfunded in new zealand except for education, which genuinely is on the bones of its ass. Its a spending problem in Roading, there is no accountability between the contractors and the NZTA, thats why they are ripping up the Kapiti and Waikato Expressways to do it all again. Its a spending problem in Health, we do not need 22 DHBs for only 5 million people. consolodate procurement and management, and there would be all the money in the world to give the nurses thier fair share. the list goes on. technically. this is not a new tax, it has always been there. its just not viable to collect. nothing has changed, so now you are spending more money to collect than the revenue it generates.

Anthony at Mag n Turbo new lynn does a good deal -
unfortunately, it is front wheel drive sorry! we will have to pinch a few trays from maccas for the rear wheels and leave the hand brake on!
-
no point not using the right tools. because when you use the wrong tools, screw it up, try to solve the problem, and end up buying the correct tool to put it back together again any way, why wouldnt you.

working on your old 330i today ha. such a shame to pull this car apart, it is very good condition!
-
take the coolant you brought at Repco back, and buy genuine BMW coolant from dealer. it is same price/L as the repco stuff so you might as well use it, and is the correct stuff for the car.
-
i can critisie that build too, so here i go dont read on if you dont want Its not a 330D, that is a M51B25 engine not an M57B30. so its a 325td/tds. you can see it is a plastic cover on top so it looks like a M57 stupid place to mount the amplifiers, how do they dissapait heat in that tiny box? Headliner looks like its been sprayed using a paint can that is 90% empty. i bet it gets flat batteries a lot with a tiny battery like that for a diesel engine. suspension comments as per above. rest is styling which i keep to myself when it comes to others cars, because thats subjective.

yeah front is easy to pull off, i modified how it connected on my E34 Touring so that it was about 6 bolts to take the whole front end off (after removing bonnet) and fold it round (wiring bonnet release etc still intact). impossible to get a V12 in there with the front still on. Hammanns are such a good looking wheel in thier own right have never owned a set tho! As for that AMG supercharger. Not sure if im excited or disspointed its going on your car ha, the dissapointment is only the badge on top tho!
-
actually........ it would be very good for him! Elijah where you at!

no problem, use Allans hard work and fit the M54B30 i have here, done 92k
