  1. I would go msport springs, as it sounds like you still want a comfortable ride. Just buy them second hand. My 2cents.
  2. Just wanted to say I really appreciate the hard work you guys do in your 'spare' time to maintain this site.
  3. Properly bleeding these cars can be tricky. Sometimes you think its bled properly and yet it still has an air pocket.

Absolutely. Much cheaper than I expected.
  5. Personally i don't think its worth the money or effort. Better to get a replacement tail section from zebra or pickapart for $25-$40.
  6. Ok, will replace heater core at the same time. I would hate to have to do it all over again in 6months. What about 5 and 6 here or is that being pedantic; http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=ET16-EUR-10-2002-E46-BMW-320i&diagId=64_0817

I had to google hydrodipping lols. What an amazing technology. What did it cost to get it done?

What a fantastic project. I love how you have gone the extra mile and done things like cleaning and repainting the underbody. That M60 looks sick! Did you clean it yourself, or did you send it out to be dipped? What is that inlet manifold?
  9. So I went to Peter at Coolcar in Manukau and he diagnosed a faulty evaporator pretty quickly. Unfortunately the whole dash has to come out which makes it an expensive job at around $2K, so I will be doing it myself before summer. While I'm in there Peter recommended doing the expansion valve and new o-rings which makes complete sense. Is there any other things that would be wise to replace while I have the dash out? I've got a new hedgehog that I will swap in as they fail often. Should I put a new heater core in too, or are they pretty reliable?

So you are no worse off than before the change? And regarding ACC, the levies have come down dramatically in the last couple years. Just $115 for rego for a year for my e46. I could understand you being upset if prices rose, but seeing as they have dropped or stayed the same, and the ACC levy has dropped comprehensibly I just don't get it.

I don't understand what you are upset about? If plates are the same or slightly cheaper what is the issue?
  12. I'm curious about your media blaster. Can you put up more info? I've always wanted to build one too.
  13. Repco and Supacheap don't carry any oil hose for some weird reason. Have found both Enzed and Hydraulink to be excellent for oil hose, and reasonable prices.
  14. Booked in at coolcar for Monday so I will let everyone know of my experience.
  15. for $800 plus about $400 for a cert, your car will handle worse and will cost more than getting koni yellow adjustable shocks and eibach springs. You get what you pay for and the cheap coilovers are pretty crap, as the metal wall thickness is thin and the welds are known to break. Just my 2 cents
  16. I replaced mine with led bulbs and they were dimmer than the stock bulbs so i swapped them back
  17. Of course only 1 litre goes in the engine. The other four go on my driveway.
  18. Works out to $11.80 per litre.
  19. Having trouble with the search. I did try to search, cause i remember a thread about it but the new software wont let me find old threads.
  20. How much hp increase is expected from the m54b30 intake and m50b25 exhaust cams? I would think it wouldn't be much more than 10hp?
  21. Tried to pm brent and it said he couldn't receive pm's? Is this a problem with the new software?
  22. I would recommend the oil catch can and pcv delete method. You don't want all the dirty crap going back into your engine. Bmw only puts it there for emissions regulations.
  23. My wifes e46 320i has had air conditioning problems for some time and I'm finally in a position to get it diagnosed. It is leaking gas somewhere I'm pretty sure as I had it refilled and it worked for a while then got weaker and weaker and then stopped putting out cold air again. Can anyone recommend a person or company who will identify the fault? I have spare parts to fix it, but not the diagnosing equipment to find the fault.
