  1. I like it But not the black wheels. M5s have nice wheels - leave them alone!
  2. Re MBI I suggest you contact MTF Mt Victoria to see if they can assist. I've found them great to deal with. If you want to off road then a Touareg makes good sense. My mate has 4.2 V8 Toureg and it is a nice vehicle - quality interior, great sounding V8 - but uses almost as much juice as my M5 Props to @Gabe79 for helping out!
  3. Hey Logan - yep saw this one pop up and agree the HDR is happening!! But I do love the E53s in Blue. @treone bought a beaut one recently. I've got the M62 4.4i E53 with 222Kms on it. There's a good discussion on X5s here: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/58166-2001-2004-x5-opinions-wanted/ But that isn't quite so relevant to the 4.8is with the N62 in it. Ask yourself 'if I have to drop $5K on sorting it during the first year, is it still a good buy'? Try to get service history - if lots of crap has been sorted already then you can buy with increased confidence. This is where I lost out .... Put a MBI on it to manage risk as Brent from BM World says "late v8's have the N62 engine, they have a lot more issues but use less fuel" - also have a lot more power! Let us know how you get on!!!
  4. Hmm I quite like E60 MSport in white but I know it's not to everyone's liking. But I def do prefer the silver interior trim in the black one. Whatever you get it will be awesome Keep us posted!
  5. hmmm. But I can see the appeal of this one. 535D is indeed rare and the pick of the diesels- the car has lowish kms, excellent specs and Autosure included. At this price a LCI MotorSport would be more compelling, but this still looks damned good with M5 feet - and Dynamic Drive is goodness. If you're doing a lot of kms and you're sold on the diesel then I don't think anyone could fault you for buying this. The alternative I'd look at would be something like this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1350246006.htm - 550i MSport LCI w/HUD for $18K - or this one for $20k : http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1364326094.htm Interestingly there's a 530D F10 with lower kms for a little more - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1312791406.htm - and you can put a MBI on it for not a lot. Very modern interior but I just think it looks a bit 'sensible' ....
  6. +1 on this. E39 Motorsport Tourings are also pretty uncommon. It includes Bluetooth and radar detector too!
  7. Go with what you like Matt It should go with the green exterior nicely. It is unusual to have black leather with a light interior tho ....
  8. I've seen the white leather with the aluminium trim and I'm not sure if it's better. :\
  9. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1362350183 98kms NZ GPS Band expander????? Really? Hmmm - doh. Hopefully re-coded Aux port Has PassPort Max wired in but costs extra to leave it in .... Airbag sensor error and downshift paddle not working.
  10. Yep looks that way. :\ It has much higher kms but looks in good condition and has both NZ Nav and radar detector which are nice extras. Incredible cars for the $$ but definitely a commitment
  11. Great condition and an opportunity to pick up a classic after it has been well sorted. This might help with inspiration .... https://petrolicious.com/articles/new-old-school-bmws-e23-745i-and-e32-750il
  12. When I had my '88 E34 535i I got 17MPG/17l/100KM (from mostly city driving) so yes it is thirsty for the level of performance. That's similar to my V8 X5 (currently showing 16) but less than my E60 M5. When Greg had the M5 his average was 17-18l/100KM but he did a bit more distance/motorway than me - I daily my M5 a day or two a week and a bit of motorway in the weekend and it averages 20. Regarding range - on our big Taihape-Napier roundtrip from Welly my M5 used 3 half tanks with a mix of enthusiastic driving and cruising.
  13. You're tempted because they are epic. PPIs are like house inspections. Not a guarantee, but you don't want to NOT do one - and best to find the fussiest nitpicker and stick with them. It would be interesting to compare notes on the approaches taken by different places/people. How low? Hmmm. The 'value' is all to do with how much you want a crazy V10 supercar. This will never be a sensible car and you do need to be up for running costs. I've plenty of stuff about RS6s being $1/mile (or km) in running costs. Who knows if they will ever appreciate in price ... wouldn't bet on it but I do think this will be considered a classic in the fullness of time.
  14. ALWAYS get a PPI done even if it doesn't look like a 'bargain' And without a thorough service history then we know it is a roll of the dice. I think this one does look promising considering what has purportedly been done.
  15. This is unusually cheap .... and it is in Chch ... and you have to like white leather
  16. Hiya from Welly Nathan. 135is rock - and yours looks fantastic. Like what you've done with it
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1358361377 102kms $23900 ONO! Think I might have posted about this one before :| I think if you like the white leather (I do) and can keep it clean then this is a good proposition. Very tidy and well maintained by the looks of things. Has both timber and aluminium trim. "It's had a gearbox/clutch done and brakes/discs at 98000kms. I've serviced / replaced other things such as fuel filter / air filters / idle actuators, carbon fuel canister's, secondary air pump. Also has x4 new tyres."
  18. This is down to $17K now ... http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1358361377 I think I saw one very like this in Khandallah the other day....
  19. It's back on again - and the price has increased! http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1357455669 $27.5K. I love these in this colour ....
  20. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1355458571.htm 131KMs $8900 Description - not sure why'd you tint a week before selling .... new Tint week ago M3 exhaust pops film (??)
