Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
Sammo replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
So red M325i Mtech 2 was $64K Black M325i Mtech 2 was $52k Silver M325i Mtech 1 was $40k Interested to see if this stroker faux Alpina coupe hits reserve. -
@Southerner you selling the red 2 door? 😳
-
There been a nice looking 325i sedan with G240 and 2.8 stroker on FB Marketplace for a while at $14k - not sure why it hasn't sold TBH - on BBS reps, leather sports seats and comes with spare parts - good value in these crazy times IMO. 325i manual 2 door is what I would love too (if I could ever part with the E46) but you would be bringing $15-20K plus another $10k for maintenance and mods these days to have something really nice.

Maybe I'll get a colour matched plate holder with insurance 😂
-

-
F20/21 has aged well, future daily maybe 🤔
-
Haha I actually am a bit 😀 But actually bought some but didn't like them (were aftermarket so maybe not as nice as OEM?) so happy with the LCI inners for now.

Stunning Sunday for a drive so waxed the car and drove to Maraetai > Clevedon > Kawakawa Bay > Kaiaua and back to Kingsland. First time doing this drive, very scenic and not too much traffic. Anyway, more photo spam as per:

Surprised R129's have not really taken off yet, such a beautiful design with the hardtop (which most came with?) and as quintessentially 80s as a quad headlight BMW. Less of a drivers car I guess - are they reliable? surely these where in the glory days for MB? -
Sounds and looks the best though and pretty sure it is more than 'fast enough' 😂
-
Very cool car (and plate) - I know its already had a fair bit done, but any plans for it?
-
Saw that on FB last week - looks to be done to a very high standard - not bad value at all either given the recent prices of its younger siblings. Would not take much to get it looking a little more 'classic' as well. Oooof just saw the ITBs!

Now that is an interior after my own heart! Beautiful

Unsure how this eluded the search engine previously. Very interested to see what a very desirable (Schartz manual 2 door with Alpina bits) but non collectable (Not mint / engine swapped / no cert etc) E30 manual goes for in the current auction market. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/320i/listing/3081744318?bof=qOCQShRm -
Stunning car, perfect colour, beautiful interi....what is wrong with that centre console?!!?

Same-same, but different https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3082033197?bof=UVgKFCaf I'm sure $13k or so could get some panel, paint and some seat covers -
What a brilliant trip and perfect car for it - great to see some real miles being done! Sadly whenever I've been road tripping in the beautiful South Island its been in a rental Toyota.

Lots it would seem! https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/Blog/tuning-the-bmw-m57-engine/

Loving the front ride height, excellent for those cheeky driveways and curbs -
Could be worth asking these guys - I think this is where I got my Alcantara ones - they only had auto boot listings with a different stitch but were able to make what I wanted no problem. https://www.ebay.com/itm/133471973647?hash=item1f138cb10f:g:J2sAAOSwK2VfhTdk Looks like they have an E87 manual boot in leather listed, but only auto boots in alcantara - sure they could do manual alcantara.

I have a Billetworkz knob I like. These guys have some real tasty knobs IMO, if you can handle a 3rd party logo on your knob. https://blackforestindustries.com/collections/bmw-shift-knobs Edit: They do the BMW manual insets as well, damn might get one myself haha

Driveshaft Hoops needed when an engine swap results in 'significantly' more power - indicated at 50%. https://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/infosheets/LVVTA_Info_07-2016_Drive-shaft_Safety-loop_Requirements.pdf No fun at all, especially if you have a two piece shaft (two hoops) - had to do this in my E46 for the manual conversion cert process and cost me a fair few pingers. Couldn't find the literature but I thought an engine swap with 20% plus more power requires certification, regardless. Was going to say N52B30 all the way but then I saw how piss weak the 320i is - an N52B25 should be a big improvement and just under that 50% mark. I ensured all my modifications were LVVTA certified and declared to my insurer - not worried about WOFs so much as insurance. Lot of people rolling around in $$$$ cars with uncerted coilovers - basically handing the insurer a get out of jail free card.

Without a doubt, an E46 M3 (if you can find one!) Modern and comfortable enough All the on road performance you could realistically need Big boot and usable back seat Raw / analogue enough without being exhausting Timeless styling (Peak BMW IMO) Future value assured
