Oooh, Bimmersport discounts? The full entertainment package is pretty awesome.

So when these cars are sorted, you'll do the odd bit of chauffeuring?
-
Going to do any core engine service work to or just leave it as is?
-
Does this mean its full manual only now, or can you still switch back to 'auto' mode?
-
Black kidney grille? Don't see many of those.

Thanks for your thoughts Graham. I've always found conflicting info. Even a trans re builder guy in New York I got some stuff from suggested Vaseline for the automatic valve body accumulator pistons, these are about 1" - 1.5" diameter types with seals at each end of a piston that moves around while acting on a heavy duty spring, regulating shift shock and all that stuff. But then other say Vaseline is bad for seals, but are transmissions a different grade of rubber that is resistant to such fluids / petroleum - perhaps that is the case.
-
When it comes to pistons inside two different units, generally what, if any lubricant should be used on the internal seals for the following: Brake system pistons - Vaseline, red rubber grease or just brake fluid? Automatic transmission valve body pistons - Vaseline, red rubber grease or just ATF?

Drew up a plate to get laser cut out of stainless to cover the side of the modified rear mufflers I'll be using soon, I needed to slim them down a bit so this seemed like an effective way to do it.

You can never pay too much for the car you want!

Didn't get a chance to chat but your M3 vert was looking rather dashing yesterday! Pretty choice bro.

Are these a tach signal dependent type of fuel pump relay?

These sounds alone are why the ICE will always be around, at least at an enthusiasts level. Pure magic! -
I tend to use this for Lexus / Toyota models, it's a USDM version but a lot of stuff is the same. $15 USD for 48hrs access. Might have some luck. https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/appmanager/t3/ti?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=ti_home_page&contextType=external&username=string&password=sercure_string&challenge_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftechinfo.toyota.com%2FtechInfoPortal%2Flogin%2Ftechinfo&request_id=-6690785448784799463&authn_try_count=0&locale=en_US&resource_url=https%253A%252F%252Ftechinfo.toyota.com%252F

:/ Disappointed to hear this Jooles. I thought they were a pretty onto it outfit. Fingers crossed you can get something back, although it sounds like a matter you might have to take to the small claims court. Are we talking more than a few hundred?

I think its like "Heart gerrr"

Plenty of good diesels out there. Yes, impressive 0-100 like a Mclaren F1, but the F1 had a V12 ICE that made one of the great automotive noises. Do it with an electric power terrain, you're going to notice the difference.

Nice Engine mounts. But yeah like Martin says, as well as the floor, I'd also look at doing some additional work to integrate the subframe mounting points into the roll cage. Quite a few E36 / E46 people do this. Plenty of ways to do so, but heres one extensive example

Ah yes I know the one. It would be worth more than I could afford. I need a $1500 tranny controller now. Sigh.

Saw an immaculate looking E36 touring going through East Tamaki at around 3.15 Technoviolet with gold BBS wheels? Made me want one so I can put a Toyota engine inside with 4 exhaust tips out the back.

Well this is a cheap car build, that would be why its still auto. But don't dismiss auto turbo cars. If setup right, they're great, due to no throttle lift off and clutch work, on gear changes boost is kept high, thus keeps torque & power up so in a straight line is always going to be quicker than a traditional manual.

But you're saved as Brent Hartge in my phone. I'll have to change that now

A 535i M30 manual with some tweaks makes a good buy too. Having had both a 535i and a 540i E34 they each have their own merits. Somehow I like the M30 more, its a very classic BMW engine, makes all the right noises. Then again so does the M60 V8 540i, faster too, but at the expense of being fiddlier to work on etc.

Ah ha so its already like that. I guess if there's a will, there's a way. If people are willing to $$$ up as well!
