  1. There was another diamondschwartz import manual one the E34 facebook group recently which i think sold for 12k asking My valuation would be 20-25k in this market based on the info. A similar 540is to this sold for 18k pre-covid.
  2. Didn't like the original gold colour?
  3. Been on the market for awhile now, started at ~35k iirc. Looks nice but probably still on mostly original parts. 3 or 4 E34 540i6's for sale atm
  4. Gold caps and 235\40R18 Michellin PS5's fitted, got $500-600 off compared to average retail price so though id buy them while i can.
  5. Removed the harmonic balancer to replace the crankshaft seal which had a very small leak. Decided the put a fresh Corteco one on given the mileage. Had to remove the radiator and drop the condenser down to fit my high torque Milwaukee which still took a few 5s bursts to remove it. Decided to make a tool to install given the 410nm torque and the $80 torque to yield crankshaft bolt, the local dealer surprisingly had one for decent price. My torque wrench only went to 350nm so it was that and a oomph. Was a bit careless with the flux core and welded the middle a bit on the piss but with GR\JP high tensile steel way its overbuilt for the job. New TRW LF-30 pump. Old one was starting to get noisy with glitter in P\S fluid. Not cheap at around $500 from Spareto and sadly made in China with a C&U bearing even, but at least its new and hopefully better than the other aftermarket ones or random 'rebuilt' ones Installed new belt Conti belts along with an INA hydraulic belt tensioner upgrade. Replace the stupid torx pulley bolt for a 16mm bolt to make your life easier
  6. Good excuse to clean up the old system and re-assemble with new gaskets, nuts and E90 etc upgraded exhaust studs(shorter with e-torx head) Hand scotch pads, die grinder pads and a product called P21 polishing soap bought it up decent. Far better product to use than nasty Autosol.
  7. After talking to @Vass about headers i went down that RHD E46 M54 header rabbit hole again, discovered there are 2 semi reasonable priced options in the UK - Gravity and Malian exhaust. Gravity wouldnt ship their better designed ones to NZ, at least not via their website, so i decided to try Malian\Kage ones for fun(not). Long short sort they are crap. An O2 sensor bung was clocked wrong so hit the chassis and had to cut down. Their flange positioning and\or design interferes which each bank, even after cutting it. They do clear the steering very well and have new flanges put on to fit, but im not inclined to do that without a hoist or TIG welder. In talks to get partial refund and sell them onto someone else. Early 330CI's upto >Sept '00 had M52 style headers and cats under the car, probably the best option overall but not an easy system to find.

Cant hurt to give the MAF a clean if you havent recently then reset adaptions if you can
  9. For the starter itself (im assuming that price is) its probably about right for genuine new Bosch unit. Re-manufactured genuine units are are about 2\3 of that price overseas by the time you add shipping. Spareto dont seem to be reman'd unit so im assuming those are aftermarket judging by the price, made in China no doubt, but probably ok for the price.
  10. I've been looking into via work contacts after not grabbing one when Costco had them. Probably cost more now Putting castor bearing or wheels on them seem to be a great mobility mod Where did you get your one from? 5000tl?

A bit rich for my tastes sorry. Most ive found seem to be $100 + shipping.
  12. As long as tidy its a mostly the same tidy result. Tape just easy and i use it for a lot of other things. My Jap E36 Ti had the rear plate bracket rivetted into the boot from the inside so tape was the natural choice after cutting it out and filling the holes.
  13. May of come across as a insult but anyone who knows these cars knows it was a tongue in cheek comment. The advise about is correct though. The majority of owners can't afford preemptive maintenance these require to be reliable so they aren't visiting the workshop regularly for repairs. This tends to exacerbate the fact that being already being base model run around with low entry cost, that they aren't maintained as well as higher end models. As for the original question - BM Workshop and Eurocare are the main places ive seen recommend but it can depend on what work you require
  14. Later type with msport wheel. p\n 32341162111
  15. Its the same process as removing car emblems, you use dental floss to cut it behind the tape and solvent, caramel wheel etc to remove the reminder. Changing plates isnt very common once everything is tidy looking.
  16. So you only have to do it once to qualify for national?. Sounds like National only about half a dozen times a year or less?

Brave + Duckduckgo has 2 alternating ads as the first 2 results but that its. I dont why anyone uses google for a search engine, its been garbage for a long time.

On brave browser there is none(blocked)
  19. Best thing i ever bought for gearbox bolt removal(and engine mounts) was a 24" 1\2" extension, never touched that rubbish multiple 3\8" setup since. Good idea, never considered that. Ive always used a wobble extension for the tight prick on the RHS.
  20. Spareto.com are far better for aftermarket options(and cheaper). Schmiedmann dont have much selection and their aftermarket brands tend to be the lesser ones.

I think some of that can be attributed to crappy facebook messaging system filtering. Its certainly happened to me in the past when receiving and sending.
  22. Could be. Id scan to see if there are any faults and check all fuses. Things like EWS issues or key problems can cause similar symptoms. Do you hear the fuel pump priming?

Cable rarely needs adjusting in my experience if its set correct to begin. The amount of people tighten the cable up(usually for a WOF) thinking their handbrake performance is adjusted is common.

They usually do in my experience. I havent really had any issues with facebook when dealing with mostly BMW related stuff.
