New nostrils for the 530 and scored a broken HVAC unit to pillage all the buttons off the have a stock pile and replace some currently busted ones in the car. With some gentle pressure these guys pop right out in tact so replacing the current problem ones will be easy.

Not that I disagree, but I wouldn't be surprised if those who don't have the personal responsibility or common sense to take out insurance, would meet the criteria of third party, even if they were forced to, and were found at fault in a crash. Most of these types likely Don't have a WOF Might have a WOF but car is in an unroad worthy state Breaching license conditions Drug/alcohol impaired. All reason to be denied cover. We have such a culture in this country now that personal responsibility is out the window and its easier to blame someones else. Couple that with a piss weak justice system and resentment/jealousy for success. If the wannabe gangster takes out your late model six figure Euro in his unwarranted 'ceffy', whats it to him... Your insurance will pick up the tab, easy.

I recently got the USB version with the BT addon for my E36. Happy with the result, only downside is track titles etc don't show but I think that is the head unit I have, rather than the Grom unit. It mimics the CD stacker by folders on the USB stick. If you want to keep the factory hardware/look, GROM is on point.

Why do Ranger’s, douche-max’s and Amacock’s have to be so high off the ground? Total pain in the arse trying to see traffic when one pulls up next to you at an intersection. Also they should give free parking lessons to the majority who buy these over-hyped P’sOS.

$17,500 Reason for selling I now have a M3 project and time, space and the CFO don’t allow more than one project at a time. Sad but true. I’m hoping someone will carry on this project or at the very least enjoy and look after it. Was originally an auto 320i from Japan imported 1998. Now its a certified M20B28 manual. I started this project 18 months ago to build a Alpina B3. The base coupe was in excellent condition and owned by a local mechanic with an extensive array of vehicles who carried out the M20B25 and manual swap using an 1988 E34 donor. The paint (Diamond Swartz Metallic) is in excellent condition (believe it has been re-sprayed at some stage) and only rust I have found was in the trailing rail in the sunroof and surface rust on battery tray which both have been treated and painted. Some blemishes on roof requiring attention. Note speedo had stopped working and I installed a replacement with similar mileage working cluster. An extensive list of restoration and modifications have been carried out with receipts & photos available (I know should have done a plog). Certified by LVVTA with WOF and rego. Sorry didn't have a good look the first time around.... was searching for E3 parts when I came across it. Looks like @Mikan has got you a potential score ?

Haha I guess they thought it might be too far back? I have anonymised the screenshot (like I should have done in the first place).

Source for new fuel caps? That really sucks about the rack, I cant believe (well, i can really) that autosure weasel'd their way out of paying for it. They shouldn't just "wear" in that sort of timeframe, but hey, that's what insurance companies are for, to get out of paying after taking all your money.

Awesome thanks for the link and feedback on the cable. Always good to get something through a NZ source if I can - which is not often haha. You are litteraly at the same stage I am, working on maintenance items ATM too so that a tune goes well, tossing up a walnut blast and I also was hitting up my friends for a battery charger, I have a 12v one but don't want to risk it. I'd be really keen to hear how it goes for you, Im working on a 07 n54 as well ?

Hmm I'd say that's either catless or something is done to the exhaust, if you can't see any signs of the PE mod. That doesn't sound like a PE mod/exhaust to me so I'd lean towards it being catless. "So on MHD the option is OEM/Catted DPs, and I have always had it checked. Did you mean that I should uncheck it and see what happens?" With it checked it should still trigger the codes just like with stock. You should have a check engine light and some fault code(s) about emissions. If you're not getting this then... your cats are still there and working. Also when you checked the Oxygen Sensor and Oxygen Sensor Heater, was it only after flashing a tune? Flashing a map resets them, you need to drive for a while, maybe about 30 mins, before they'll show the status. Edit: One more.. are the cars you've been comparing against sedans? The sedans actually have an extra resonator in the exhaust that makes it quieter than the coupe. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123467

Managed to get down to chevpac today and got sckooled by Syd, 48yrs in the trade and counting. I was trying to fit the arbor in with the fully closed which meant the shaft wouldn't fit properly . I needed to whined it out 15mm . Hay presto it fits. Its a MT2. check. New chuck , went for one that holds a 16mm drill bit. And a set of milling tools. 3-12mm now to find a block of Alloy and turn it to chip.

Hey Trent, Sorry, completely forgot about this thread. Cable is working fine and came in 1-2 days. Car is reading it perfectly. This is the one I bought: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/tools-repair-kits/meters-testers/listing-2045036176.htm?rsqid=41da1ce40a654712b95fb04e31027e7a-002 I intend on flashing MHD and xHP but haven't gotten around to it yet. Thought I'd better play it safe and have swapped in new spark plugs and coils in the meantime, as well as a new battery. At this stage once I install my chargepipe tomorrow I'll be ready to flash MHD stage 1 - just need to find a battery charger first ?

Thanks man! Those wheels I believe was optioned back then. Those photos were taken 2 weeks ago when I drove up to Auckland to meet up my mate who just bought a M4 CS.

Well it’s no wonder it’s likely needing a corroded head repair done like his friends one.... Using “A cup of water” every 6 months to top off the coolant. Mmm nice Auckland hard tap water. Muppet.

If you're paying retail for the MPE as a dealer (as opposed to factory) option then make sure you keep the stock exhaust. Two (or more) brand new cats and a barely used muffler and tips should be worth 100's. Heck, the full exhaust may even be a bolt-on upgrade for a lessor 1er.

The popularity of utes for business is in my view significantly down to the way Fringe Benefit Tax works in NZ. By default, a signwritten Ute is classed as a 'commercial vehicle' for FBT purposes. What that means, is that you only pay FBT on days that you used the vehicle solely for personal usage without any work usage at all. Given there's lots of ways to completely eliminate 'personal use' legally (e.g. making a customer visit), this means that entire fleets of utes are running with almost no FBT payment despite extensive use as a personal vehicle either side of work hours. Contrast that with a Station Wagon, which is only classed as commercial when the seated are physically bolted down, or a sedan, which is never classed as commercial no matter how much it is signwritten, and you can see why Utes provide such a tax benefit. Given FBT annually is either 22% of the purchase price, or 40-something-% of the residual depreciated value, it's a huge difference. For example, our company buys cars outright and holds onto them for 7 years before replacing - and over that 7 year period, if it's a full-FBT-due vehicle type, you'll pay 1.54x the original purchase price of the vehicle in FBT. If we bought utes, and were clever, that might be lucky to be 0.2x It's the reason we as a business haven't pursued electric vehicles for managerial use, despite our desire to - all current electric passenger vehicles incur full FBT, and since FBT is based solely off purchase price and not operating cost, paying $70k for an electric vehicle and then paying another $108k in tax over the life of the vehicle, is a pretty shite financial comparison to just buying a diesel-fume-spewing Ranger for $45k, paying for some fuel over the life of it, and paying practically no FBT at all.

1 May 2019. 173665kms 1. Fuel Filler Cap: replaced. The fuel filler cap seal was badly cracked. And (as mentioned in my initial posts on this thread more than two years ago), was missing it’s leash. I’d experienced a ‘lockout’ recently on my e46 (same cap), where I was unable to open the cap to fuel up, and needed to resort to soaking with penetrant to ease the seal. So I sourced two OE replacements (one for each car). I couldn’t see the value in Genuine BMW for this, was happy with OE product. It’s a three minute job to replace the cap. Seal not available as a separate part (referring to RealOEM). From this... ... to this Job’s a good ‘un.

Yes the doors still open Olaf. The rear subframe / chassis was all distorted and the R/R wheel smashed when the rear of the car was punched into the high kerbing. I'm also impressed by how well the car took the hit. I'm told by witnesses they guessed the speed of the other car to be about 80kph The only hold up with the insurance was getting the police report and the long holiday interval. Get my new car next week after the tow bar fitting, PD, window tinting and Dura Seal paint and leather protection. Hyundai have given me a car till mines ready.

Bit off an update. After 3 weeks. Total replacement with a brand new car with all the extras I had paid for... plus upgraded to the Elite Black roof model. I've gone for Lagoon Blue this time. I couldn't go with the Red again.

Likely, but it's not like other M3s are spring chickens either. Most are over 200k and still twice my asking price. Engine runs as good as my old one that had 200,000k on it. No smoke, no oil or coolant use and minimal leaks (damn cpv weeping). Neither its condition or how it runs shows 300,000km, it's literally only the number on the cluster. I could've been like the previous owner and try to pretend the cluster wasn't original to this car and it's really only done 200,000km, but I'm not an a**hole.

Serviced the wife's 116d, pretty simple apart from the oil filter cap being in a prick of a place to get a chain wrench on - took a bit of huffing and puffing to get that off but got there in the end. Anybody know a simple way to reset the service indicator on the E87? Would be good to do it myself rather than have to take it into work and hook it up to a diagnostic machine,. etc. Still waiting on the o-rings to finish the 330d wagon off, but I am getting close to being able to work on the race car again.

Mentally accepted I have to say goodbye to my boyhood dream car. Last week Wednesday I was cut off by a driver who proceeded to dead brake Infront of me to avoid a speed camera van fine so naturally I dead braked but as I did I veered to the left to avoid impacting him. Long story short my baby is now a write off. Met with a concrete barrier and bent the chassis front and rear without the chance of repairing. Looking for a replacement will be impossible because as far as I know there aren't many 325i baurs in NZ let alone mtech 1 variants. Hoping to buy it back from insurance and possibly buy a vert or another baur to replace and replicate this vehicle. It had every option from the maplight mirror to factory tweeters. No I will not be parting it out to sell.
