3 pointsHello BMW enthusiasts, I just joined bimmersport and thought I would introduce my BMW's. My daily driver is a 1996 E36 323i, nothing special other than it being a really clean original car: The car I really enjoy owning though is my NZ new 1995 E34 520i, factory manual (I know: how the hell does one enjoy a 2L 5 series?). I have had the car for about a year and a half now and pretty quickly realized that E34's are for me. Here are some recent pics: It is rough at the moment no doubt, but its a work in progress and will be for some time. In fact I'm actually in the middle of doing an engine swap. I'm replacing the M50b20 with a latter M52B28. It doesn't even have the 2L anymore: Anyway maybe that's too much for the intro but it gives you some idea I guess. By the way I recently started photography as a hobby so if your interested feel free to check out my Flickr (link in signature below). I have few more pics of my car there.

2 pointsI'm sure you know about TST's 1million mile one... They remind me of those 'generic' Fords and American cars you'd see in 80s TV. The design is so simple and obvious, but on point. I'm a fan.

2 pointsSwapped out the nasty "wood grain" dashboard and console trims for some "carbon fibre" motorsport ones. MASSIVE thanks to Brent at BM World for these. Door trims being changed soon to more fitting items..excuse woodgrain shift handle. That will soon be a manual shift knob also washed her and cleaned her. Pics to follow Before After Got lows?

1 pointIf a couple of members here can get the v12 in their E34s, im sure it cant be that much harder to drop it into the E38 SWB. iirc they all use the same steering, unlike the e39 that used rack and pinion on the sixes, so fitting the v12 setup shouldnt be too hard. a SWB 750i would be lush. The LWB is just too much car for around town here, the SWB is just much more manageable.

1 pointyeah E34 are very good cars. Most 520i end up engine swapped sooner or later, mine more than doubled in size.

1 pointA bit of an update on my BMW experience so far..... After getting the initial oil leak fixed the car has preformed way past my expectations!! It is a absolute joy to drive. The only thing I couldn't get used cosmetically was the dual single exhaust...I did try, but every time I looked at the back of the car I thought it just doesn't look right??? (I know its a European thing) but maybe I have owned too many Ford's and Holden's to get used to it...anyway did a quick search on eBay and $190 later I had a new rear dual exhaust diffuser sitting in my garage. Fitted it the next day..(perfect fit, as it wasn't made in china!)...went to the local muffler shop and $400 later had 2 x dual exhaust slashed cut rolled tips fitted. They just ran a link pipe around from before the rear muffler and fitted a resonator to the link pipe side between the battery box and spare wheel well. Looks fantastic...sounds great...I drive it in manual sports mode now just to hear the beautiful sound the engine makes....never heard the car before as it was so quite. Its only above about 2500 rpm that you hear it rev which is great as when cruising its nice and quite....not so quite around town Love this car...

1 pointFirst gen celisor or ls400 I'm sure you get to beat up in street fighter 2!

1 pointThat's a good habit to have honestly, need to scare people out of doing that.
-
1 pointCurious how much you paid? BMWorkshop quoted me over $200 for one... I ordered one online from FCP Euro. Was about $100 including shipping. So stupid that it's cheaper to import parts yourself. Local suppliers are only good for stuff you need urgently...

1 pointAh. Wow. Carerra RSR - this livery is my favorite And I think the prettiest car ever made - the Alfa 33 Stradale 270bhp @ ~9000 rpm out of a 2.0L V8, in a car that weighs 700kg. I can't think of anything better. EDIT: Also: What a ridiculous sound:

1 pointThe one I got about a month ago was on trademe for a good couple of months, and also listed on here. I paid less than those 3 E46 tourings posted above. It just had a service yesterday, and apart from an oil leak ( oil filter gasket we reckon ), she's seems to be in mint condition.I also live on the shore...
-
1 point6pot Msport e46 tourings are unobtanium at this point. I would suggest looking at a 5er or start stalking North shore neighbourhoods.

1 pointSorted my front offset to get it sitting nicely over the weekend & then my mate got his rig out last night and we got some nice rolling snaps of it. quite happy with the outcome
-
1 pointLeave them out. They are over rated. Its amazing what individual components weigh, we took a similar weight out of the wiring loom alone in my race car.

1 pointHoist 1 out of 2 up in the shed. E30 been the first one up of course. Always wanted a hoist.
