5 pointsI date a lot. Well thanks to Tinder and Facebook stalking, maybe a couple of women a week. I am a car snob and do judge women on what they drive and how they maintain their cars, there is a normally a direct correlation to how tidy a girls car is and how tidy she is, in terms of maintenance, waxing, hair, make up etc..... there is also a correlation between how ambitious she is and what she drives, I have found women with nicer cars are more driven, excuse the pun. But, TBH, dirty girls with dirty cars are often a lot more fun, normally relaxed and less self conscious = awesome fun and easy. So. I would date a chick with a crap car, but I would not plan on marriage, nor would I take her home to mother. f**k. Im lost now... Ideally you want both. Im staying single. Side note, I tend to date a lot of women with Suzuki Swifts and annoying small dogs. I appreciate a women who can drive stick. I also like women who own cars with proximity keys.

4 pointsIts been interesting decoding the data streams from older Bosch ECUs .. they're definitely different than Siemens ECUs. Enjoyed the challenge. So what do we have here, e30 shell full e46 running gear, half e46 electronics half pre-fl early e39/e31 with m62b44. Maximum win.

3 pointsAs long as they have a car and can drive I think its somewhat irrelevant. Its those without a car or a license that are the lepers! Avoid.

3 pointsactually 95 onwards and there was crossover so you have to check, especially as many weren't registered until 96. The V8s grew from 4 to 4.4L and the V12s got the 5.4L M73... But ONLY left hand drive versions. Otherwise no other differences. The UK market got lots if individual spec 840 sports which had the csi body kit. Not a face lift in sight just two body kit types - standard and sport. You won't find an M73 850ci for love nor money in NZ as only around 1500 LHD cars were built. A bad csi will cost you $40-50k and a good one $75k+. Best option is to get is buy a cheap 850i, get a csi kit (it's still available from BMW for around $3k shipped) and prepare to spend up on suspension, etc. oh wait... I'm doing it!!!

3 pointsSo, after months chasing this f**king thing, turns out the fuel pump wasn't supplying enough pressure. Have plumbed in the 540i pump and the thing is a animal. Does however expose another issue. Needs more grip ha. Much thanks to Josh and Brendon who have sorted the manual programming and tirelessly scanned data that just wouldn't tell us anything much, and Ray for putting up with my usual crap ha. Now, to address the other bits and pieces that have been neglected while chasing my arse with this miss.

1 pointI did know girls many years ago that would go out with the guy purely on what car they had. They were only good for a tap and gap though.

1 pointI was actually looking for an 840 as I had an M62 supercharger at the time but they are more expensive for some reason - people seem to get scared off by the extra four cylinders!

1 pointDown to the lady Met my wifei in the 80s. Was driving an e21 323i at the time. In the days when BMWs were hens teeth and price wise second hand e90 M3 in today's money. She could understand why I'd spent so much money something that gets you from a to b ( she had an early Datsun 1600 then, had a 600cc motorcycle and sky dived on weekends) It took me 15 years before she owned one her self. We've been together 25. Moral of the story. Chics don't give an F about what you drive. If your impressed by her car then you might be limiting your field. A Ducati on the other hand ........

1 pointLoL - this is more a 'theoretical' question, rather than an actual example Westy. I know I have (many, many moons ago) finished with someone because they sold their car - after I spent ages fixing the bloody thing up, and so they could then use me as a taxi service. Also pretty sure that me having some pretty cool cars helped swing the decision with some chicks who were above my league.. Was wondering if it was just me..

1 pointI think you broke Matt....... I'm easy, if it is a good looking girl in a shitbox, I look at the girl. If shes not-to-hot and in the latest m3, I'm in it for the money, and the m3.

1 pointIf it was just about the cars you and your Soarer would be elsewhere, right?!
-
1 pointWould love this also... I have no garage though. You never realise how good a big garage is until you no longer have one. Would be a shame to leave this out in the cold. Drove Boris's car a few years ago, best 5 series I have driven, was like a E39 that had done some boot camp. Good luck with the sale.

1 pointdont even get me started on dealers changing cambelts as cheap as possible and not doing waterpump and tensioners.... :|

1 pointAnother factor is the sound between the gearbox variations. Your average automatic on a gear change is okay, some better than others, but one that retards the timing and has a high slip change is pretty nasty on the ear. True manuals when shifted nicely are probably my favorite, especially with that brief off the gas pause, then youre back on it DCT with its quirky throttle blips is hard not to like, such a quick change of sound is certainly cool. Such noises make the cars sound very tight and focused.

1 pointI walked out of McDonalds the other day. I was in mid order and turned to look out the window to see someone pull up beside my E38. Heaps of parks around and this woman pulls in right beside me. So while I'm ordering I've got an eye on what she's up to. Bit-h gets out of her car and dumps her handbag, keys and cellphone on the roof of my car while she's getting her kids sorted. F--k me!!!!!!! So I storm out there and I'm yelling as I walk out the door.."Hey, my cars not a f*#king shelf for your crap, get it off my car". She looks at me like I'm crazy..lol Then has the nerve to tell me she'll "only be a minute so whats my problem"? FFS I manage to get control of my growing temper and explain that the car is "my pride and joy and I dont really want it scatched, sorry for yelling but pls remove your stuff". Her reply sent my temper over the top. "Its only a car, get over it". So I reach out and grabed her keys and cell phone and sent them flying about 30ft into the bush's on the other side of the fence. Last I heard from her was she was going to call the police.. Dunno if she did or not. I got in my car and drove through the drive thru to get my order and gave her a nice wave and smile as I drove out. She was still in the bush's with her kids looking for her keys and cell..
