cool features and pics . or the wipers on my e24 635csi headlights back in 1985 and with heated door locks and heated mirror glass

Hands down coolest feature of the Soarer is the water drop remover on the side mirrors!

Weather like today might not be ideal for driving but it's perfect for photos! Mike, Martin and I took a turn out to Kawakawa Bay and it was spectacular. Great fun drive too, before the rain really set in, and a good test for the new suspension in my 8er. So good! Rock solid in the twisties at reasonable pace, where previously she'd have been very skittish (or just wound up in a ditch!) at that speed. Here are a few of the best ones... The rest are on here:

9 S54`s @ Hellbm either in car or out gives us our own production line. Aside from the S62 would have to be my favourite BMW engine. This is something Sam (Hellboy) needs to see as he gives one of ours a full freshen up. https://www.facebook.com/HellBMMotorsport/photos/a.625908164168921.1073741829.107176062708803/794007440692325/?type=1

Being quoted $938 for a set of H&R lowering springs when I can get the same set from America for $418.90nzd plus about $70 for gst and another $80 for postage. Saves me about $370. Where's the incentive to buy locally. This is getting beyond ridiculous and bordering on insulting.

Perhaps we should expand the Sunday monthly meets to turn into a Sunday afternoon drive out to some East / Western bays decided within the week leading up to it?
  9. 2 points
Good point. I should make a list of people who might like to go for a drive on a Sunday at short notice.

Doesn't seem to do anything! I bet it gives dogs the shits. Nice drive BTW. Were was our invites?? haha

Ripples or finger prints in between the sheets of glass ;-D

Smith and Smith use random Chinese make glass from my discussions with them. If you want low quality glass with 'ripples' they are a good option

The E38's still my favorite. I thought the E65 was big. The new 7 dwarfs the E65. All the 7's in a row.

H&R NZ have staff to pay, a building to pay for, and you will find their buying power is weak vs US companies. Its commerce. Try KW suspension, they are compatible to US costings and a great product. A set of V3's would make it go around corners!

I have left instructions that state if I ever buy a Civic I should be humanely put down on the spot as I'll obviously be suffering from some virulent form of mad cow disease. :drugs: :puke: It's not just about the 7 Series though. And it's not just lowering springs. And even if it was why should it cost $370 more just cause we're in NZ. Which then forces me to shop overseas. It's crazy.

Did they fit genuine screens? In typical bmw fashion the alignment of the e39 screen on to the roof panel determines how much wind noise you get.

It's designed for colder climates, when the mirrors are fogged up with a layer of moisture making them non-reflective, when in that state they work best to 'vibrate' the condensation off / vaporise it. An ultrasonic speaker does the work and is mounted in the back of the mirror. It operates for 5 seconds per button press. The mirror heater then takes over and does the rest. It's not really for rain water drops as you can still see the reflection clearly enough, but this video gives you an idea. Gimicky for sure but it does work in the mornings!

In 1989 when the E31 came out, everyone thought it was space age (just see the Top Gear reviews!!) but I guess tech, particularly in Japan moved on very quickly but there were no major updates to the E31 in 10 years of production. Really liked the one touch indicator and wiper controls and the cluster display in your car, there are new cars that don't work as well. You need to source some buttons in English though! I think I should have switched OFF the Soarer TRC, it was terrifyingly aggressive in the wet!

My 225s vs the 275s on both other cars were a noted point of embarrassment. I need some wide, dished BBS'!

hit up Dave (M3AN) he has the bits you need, not sure if he would be willing to sell separately though

All cars looking great, but your E31 is looking amazing now. So staunch.

I agree. Get a smoke test done or try target spraying brake cleaner/start ya bastard/similar gunk around the intake system and see if you get an increase in idle speed or change in exhaust emissions (need gas analyser for this).

Nice having a bit of dirt, makes extra garage get a lot easier. LOL Certainly moving from Pukekohe improved the ability to buy ratio and I'm only five mins from work, lucky bastard really

D'Oh! Good on the honesty front though - I wouldn't have told everyone, but you might save someone else doing it

what. the. FWhere did you park looks like back street stuff?!

In the movie 'no strings attached' Ashton Kutcher's character drives a flippin mint one of these, watch it. I reckon for a weekend cruiser it's a cool way to go. Its a very cool car.

bloody litterbugs. Why do people find it so difficult to take the sh*t home and put it in the bin there instead of just tossing it out the window.Ussually Macdonalds bags or Plastic drink bottles. Now that i travel every back road i can find,i was astounded to find at the top of Strathmore Saddle on SH43 a whole lot of litter only a few metres from a rubbish bin!

Some nice new 19s on the W211, stoked on the outcome!!

Pulled the seat out and opened up the little gearbox. One of the plastic cogs had a crack in it so wouldnt turn the main gear. There were two sets of these in the gearbox so i switched it over. Now i regained the tilting movement and moving front and back works too. Lost the ability to move rhe seat up and down but no biggie. Also some pics of the retrimmed headliner and properly attached door cards Yay!

In keeping with the M3 theme swapped wheels for 4 x M3 19`s fronts. Rears need the guards pumped.

f**k that.... been there and done that. She went from a Mercedes to the Suzuki & Loves it. 180,000km and no oil & water leaks. Just 2 batteries, 8 tyres an O2 sensor and normal servicing in 10 years

People that spit on the footpath for no apparent reason. This doesn't include sports players etc that have a sh*t load of spit. But people that insist on walking down the street and spit like the filthy animals that they are. There seems to be a demographic for them but let's not go there.

It's almost a car you want to be sat in the back of, rather than driving.. There is a lot of cool new tech in these, the new "gesture control" looks interesting, as I often use "gestures" when driving...

    It's not a triangle, it's a shark's fin - makes it way cooler!
  48. 1 point
Quick rant eh? I dislike that little triangular bit between the two wiper blades that can't get to. I bought longer blades so the triangle is smaller but couldn't get rid of it completely. Why can't they make those mad looking single blade mechanism on the 90's Merc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not funktional. But this would be a nice peacocking car.

The effort required is pretty low, but this is probably the best looking Falcon that Ford has made: Disclaimer: not saying this is an "awesome car", I just think they've done a good job and look better than any other Falcon and the current Holdens.
