So had an awesome day with the ECC crew at the meet & cruise today. Only just got my wheels sorted the morning of the event after a multiple air leaks. Big thanks to my muscular mate Dion for the assistance of removing tyres There was a great turn out today at asb show grounds I won best wheels which was a great testament the all the work my mates and my partner put into them to get them ready such short notice. So really pleased. So here are some photos Some are abit crap been so busy

Took the old interior to the dump and found the interior weighs ~110kg (front and rear seats) The 316ti weighs in at 1240KG wet + driver. In basic race trim it will be 1140KG + driver which is only 20kg more than the E30, but in saying that the wheels I have on the compact are 16KG heavier than the ones that were on the e30......so the weights are pretty much the same even though the compact will have a near complete interior. Stuff that I could remove if I wanted to go crazy, -16kg Lighter wheels -20kg fiberglass hatch -15kg fiberglass bonnet -5kg fiberglass fenders -10kg Heater and aircon crap -20kg fiberglass doors -20kg for all the misc plastic trim and crap. So another ~100kg lost would put it near 1040kg + driver, but probably not worth it unless I want a car made of fiberglass. I also put it on the dyno today, number was low and you can't really compare dyno's, but it was making 6kw more than a E46 with CSL tune (stock car) and 10kw more than standard E46 M3. Funny thing is I have 2" restrictor plate in the rear muffler to quiet the engine down for road, turns out it made more HP with it in on the dyno (4kw) Got a wheel alignment yesterday and found I had 20mm toe in, fixed now. To be fair when putting it together I only adjusted it until it tracked in a straight line, now it also likes to turn corners So all done and dusted in terms of the initial build. Half cage and tune to come in the new year, but before that I am giving it a shakedown at Hampton on the 15th, aiming for a 1:14.0 with road tires.

Went for brush over aerosol because it was such a small area which wouldn't be covered by the spoiler; was hoping the brushes would be a thinner paint or something that didn't require much blending, but it was about the same as it would have been for aerosol anyway... and I covered a few chips at the same time anyway.

Had to do it and glad I did. Headlights refreshed and the black is now silver. Really lifted the front of the car. And the "Y" is fixed thanks Kyu.

Everything up for grabs except the engine and gearbox and a few other select bits. Also a complete rolling body should anyone want it. Otherwise will go to the scrappy in a few weeks time. All very straight and tidy, but paint is toasted.

Good to meet you yesterday, Dave. The 750 looks fantastic and was a standout at the meet for me. Actually, a standout because it wasn't a golf or 3 series!!! Big cars FTW!!

awesome wheels, not sure about the white centre personally, but they are a great style and fit the car perfect. So much dish!

Having seen how good yours looked Brent I'm thinking I'll have to get the tints done in the 750i again.

I remember seeing this on trade me and thinking it was a great deal! Correct me if i'm wrong, but from the odd posts I've seen around the forums it looks like you're going to have one very fun E30. I'm excited

Ended up getting a spoiler locally that was right color, came with boot lid so I just fixed up some rust around the spoiler bolts, and swapped out the whole lid. Debadged it while I had all the polishing sh*t out. Got me thinking that I'd like to change the roundels from blue/white, to copper/silver; anyone done custom roundels locally? Making more lifting bars still on the list. Clutch arrived for the manual conversion, but going to get some gearbox seals etc as well.

$450 with very good tread ling-long crosswinds (sporty!) Will need to keep them for a while to keep rolling unless you can provide something to replace them.

OK so got home from the ECC meet today, great to catch up with you guys and meet some new people. Even fluked having Dave in convoy to Hamilton, E3 style Had ordered a 2 degrees sim card to play around with and try and get the phone setup sorted, so it had arrived and out to the car. Popped the full size credit card in and low and behold it fires up, registers and works! Thought I'd have to make a template to positon it right etc but nope perfect first time. So now my retro phone works sweet and is hands free option as well. Man you got to love 90s tech Big shout out to Carfolie as well for the sweet tint job I got on Friday while up, very happy with the look. Will post some pics tomorrow for those not at the ECC meet

the tv module goes together with the monitor. must be priced and sold together. Ask bmw if any issues by removing them. 99,99% should be fine

buys 335i and drives in D mode?.....should of just bought a 325i lol Alpina flash is awsome, so much better then the stock one but im usually in manual mode with paddle shifters and DTC on...hardly ever in D mode unless in auckland motorway traffic jams :/ or trying to save fuel there's an alternative , there's a sport flash that is probably more up your alley..

Bought these wheels off trademe for $250 and they came with 215 Ling Long tyres, should be a laugh. Happy this car has finally come together and I can't wait to give it a go at my private twilight trackday on the 15th. I can lower the front so that the splitter sits on the ground, but for obvious reason I won't do this, I like having a splitter.

I once said never, I guess never say never?? When you don't get invited for test drives, just buy one LOL. What can you do when the wife says "yep this one" His and hers : )
