6 pointsReceived and repaired and revirginised for ews repairing. Someone who didn't know what they were doing had been trying to flash this via bdm and corrupted the file on one of the chipsets. Poor soldering work on the bdm header also. It was the original dme afterall and the part of the data not corrupted had the correct vin number information on it.

3 pointsChange of job this year has meant very little time for hobbies and cars. I did manage to change the back lighting of the DSP controller to amber earlier this year. Brought a few electronics cards for a couple of holiday projects 1, Freeview TV kit for factory BMW tuner. Will restore TV function when parked and allow USB content to be played 2, Raspberry PI based media system. The idea is to build the system into an old factory CD stacker and connect to factory 16/9 boardmonitor. Audio will be digitally connected and use lossless audio files up to 96k/24bit for high quality audio,

2 pointsAt $2,300 I'd be stupid to assume anything. And they don't look like standard rails, they look like sliders only but I may be wrong, that's why I'm asking.

2 points99% Done for now, Majority of the last freakin month and a half was getting the exhaust headers fitted with the V bands to sit in a suitable space, Plus they are an absolute nightmare to fit with the motor in. Hopefully won't be touching them for a long while. Also had the Driveshaft hoops done. Went in for it's cert last week, didn't have any issues except for needing to provide some documentation for E30 vs Z3 rack to ensure no pivot points had been changed, Just emailed them the E30Wiki and a Googled picture of E30 vs Z3 rack which sufficed. Today the cert plate was mounted Actually doesn't ride as bad as I thought with coilovers, abit more noisy but handles well I missed the quick Z3 rack for sure after driving a fully stock E30 round for the last 6 months it's crazy how different they feel and how much better this one handles, very sharp responsive steering. Still to do: Look at raising the Idle RPM abit, Flywheel is noisy as hell and rattles until I give it the lightest bit of throttle to about 900 and it's good. Finish the last 1/3rd of the exhaust from subframe back it's joined to my old 2.5" Coby + Magnaflow, too loud for my liking but I intended on getting some Borla mufflers from Summit racing early next year anyway.

1 pointOk, I looked it up and the seat sliders look like the Recaro seat sliders with tabs on Turner Motorsport site. The seat rails bolt to the floor in the usual E30 manner, using the factory threaded holes and bolts in the floor. I also have a set of early E30 Recaros (see first photo) and a set of E30 Motorsport Recaro style seats and they all fit the M3 and the at least the E30 coupes. One of these other seats will replace the Recaros up for sale If you zoom in on the front anchor point of the seat in the first picture you can see the tabs with the rod and the 3 height adjustments

1 pointThere's no assurance these actually came out of a BMW, they could have been adapted to suit and therefore have custom "rails". Rails in this car referring to the part the mounts to the floor and the part(s) that mount to the seat and yes, you've guessed correctly that it was a reference to how the seats adjust. I'm simply not familiar with the mechanics of an E30 M3 seat was hoping to learn a little more about these ones, from the seller or others, I'm not picky!

1 pointHave run it on several cars for the past 10 years ... no issues ever. Infact Jamez ran it for 4 years in his race car that only ever saw extreme conditions, engine started with 80,000ks on it ... and was compeditive and still had all factory hoan marks when he dismantelled it for a routine rebuild. This meant that he didnt actually need to rebuild it. I wouldnt believe everything youre told on the internet or around some traps. I prefer to rely on proven race performance. At the end of the day as long as you select a good mid range oil which is matched to you temprature condition of where you live (again a non issue in New Zealands mild temprature range) and you maintain oil change schedules you car will last you 300-500ks easy. I would be more worried about cam lobe wear than bearing failure in this case. I think Polly summed it up once in a thread, buy some bloody oil, change the filter, do an oil change, close the bonnet and just go enjoy your car.

1 pointYes. Unfortunately a simple registration error on import. The vin on the car matches all details on car jam. Is an 88 touring. Was at the Euro Car Club meet a few weekends back. If you would like to view and test drive it is available in Castor Bay each evening except Christmas. Call me on 0275050303.

1 pointYeah watched that this morning. Just replace all the old suspension with Spec E30 stuff. A few of the BMW sites actually sell the spec E30 package. R888's work well on E30's. The series runs them and they are great on the road and track and won't murder your wallet. You will need to buy a bushing kit after a bit though.

1 pointAfter fixing a few mechanical issues that these cars are notorious for I've now got it sitting how I wanted. Carbon front lip installed, front bumper resprayed, Eibach lowering springs (front only for now) and my Work Gnosis CV201 wheels fitted. Specs are 20x9.5 +5 275/30/20 20x11 +28 305/30/20 Took a bit of massaging to get them in there and will need a little more but I'm happy with the result. Apologies for the cell phone photo's and dirty car.

1 pointI can match any mss54 to any ews box and keys. I can also flash ews boxes and modify these and rolling codes to used keys ect! I also have the ability to recover so called bricked mss54 most of the time. They do crap out from time to time from people that don't know what they are doing (plenty of those on that forum) - there's a guy on there that claims he can do this and that and trust me I get more emails from him than spams! Send it to me and I'll test it for you. It makes no difference which car the dme came from I can virginise these so you can pair it with any ews box or key sets. I don't know why you bothered sending these to the USA as I have the knowledge and equipement to do almost everything the Americans can do with these and more. I have a test dme and I can tell you this dme has gone to hell and back - I have even test brick and recovered this to help out a guy that did the same in the UK - there's a specific way to put these into boot mode so it can be recovered (even when it fails to talk via BDM). Send it to me and cover return postage and I'll check it for you for free and recover it for nothing.

1 pointDoes anyone know if a good CSL wheel replica is available on NZ shores? I'm quite liking the look of this (from the depths of the internet):

1 pointha ha. Fine till you open the doors and it folds in half. Would be interesting to see it with the rear doors welded closed and the fronts doors stretched a bit.
